Everyone is dressed in a matching outfit. Staff is super friendly and helpful all around the stadium and the outside venues. No doubt they love America in St Paul and they love the military service branches. If that offends you. This event is not for you. So many different events and always moving on the inside. Plenty of different events and different competitive categories. Loved the outside venues. A real variety of food programs and vendors really went all out to provide something for everyone. The history of the rodeo tent was educational and exciting just to see the evolution. So many people that are legends in the sport. What an honor to learn all about them and their accomplishments in and outside of Rodeo. A real family pleaser for sure remember sun screen Drink lots of water. Perhaps I dress or speak differently? I don't know. It certainly isn't anything I do purposely, and I try to respect people from all walks of life. Somehow the vendors and some of the other attendees could tell we weren't part of their clique. The beer vendors were downright hostile. The clowns were good, and it's the best fireworks display in town, so there's that. My daughter came out from Beaverton to attend with me. We both felt very unwelcome and will never go again.

If you try to email them (the rodeo organizers) they ignore you. They will run until at least 10pm on sunday nights. Its as if they have no care for their neighbors who need to work in the morning. All they would need to do is turn their bass dial down so they dont shake the ground. But they won't do it. They'll take your money, but do not care about their neighbors at all. Highly recommend against supporting such an organization. At this point, if it would get them to be respectful with their noise, I'd buy tickets.

The Grand Floral Parade may not be grand, but it is a wholesome tradition that's been a key part of…read morethe Portland Rose Festival since 1907. We enjoyed the march of high school bands, sponsor floats, community organizations, and horse riders for a couple hours. The crowd was never too large so there were lots of spots along the sidewalks on Burnside to see each group pass by. The parade starts at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum before heading across the Burnside Bridge, turning at 4th Avenue, and heading down to Lincoln High School. We str Naming rights for the parade mean it is now called the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade and they get to start the show as the first float after a mass of flag-waving local Boy, Cub, and Girl Scouts. More interesting groups followed including floats from Portland's sister cities, diverse minority group participation, a few small equestrian teams, a chill pack of llamas, drill teams and marching bands, the royal court and festival queen, and a U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. The entire route of the parade is 4 miles so locals and tourist should have no problem finding a place to enjoy all or part of the parade. It starts at 10:00 at the Coliseum, but we didn't hit our area until around 11:00. We found parking for a crazy high $16 about a block away, but it was worth it, I suppose. This parade may not rival some of the bigger and more elaborate ones around the country, but for Portland, the Grand Floral Parade, is as big as it gets. It's a source of pride and participation for the entire Portland-Vancouver metro area for good reasons. I'm a fan.

This is an elegant shopping center in downtown area of Portland, just a block away from the…read morecourthouse. There's plenty of luxurious and well known brands in this place, including LV, YSL, Gucci, Tiffany, David Yurman, Apple, Zara, H&M, and Tumi. There are five floors with Regal Cinemas on the top floor and food court at the lower floor. In food court, they have Din Tai Fung. Since Oregon has no sales tax, this mall is popular destinations for tourist, saving them some extra dollars. As we explored the mall, it looked clean and well maintained. In the common area there was a nice water fountain. The food court space wasn't too exciting other than it had DTF. All the stores we went had friendly staff. Security personnels walk around the mall to keep it safe. But outside the mall building, the surroundings are not as secure, so I suggest do all the shoppings during the day time.

For 22.00 tax included you get a Gyro with choice of Lamb or chicken with Garlic Fries and a drink. I wish more restaurants would have a meal deal. The cons about the fair was the prices. I expected prices to be more expensive than outside of the fair but all of the food was outrageously expensive. Large Corndogs for 15.00, corn on the cob for 10.00, Turkey legs for 20.00, Popcorn was 9.00, most burgers started at around 10.00 with no side or drink included. 10.00 don't sound expensive but by the time you add fries and a drink its between 25.00-30.00 What a scam! Even the lemonade was expensive 8.00 for the first one and 5.00 for refills. I wasn't aware lemons, sugar, and water was so expensive. Crazy! Another expensive thing was the rides. 1.00 a ticket and most rides was 7 tickets. And the games was around 4 to 6 tickets. They did sell ride bracelets for 35.00 but if you have little ones that can't ride many rides due to height requirements and are limited. Ride bracelets are not worth it. There was no special discounts or bracelets for the games. Another thing that was new this year i did not like was having to wait till Approximately around 6pm till we could get into the Grandstands to reserve a seat. Security would not let anyone up to sit in the bleachers. All of these prices may not seem expensive to some people, but with a family of 4 or 5 that all adds up quickly. I ate at Philly Diner and had a Philly Cheesesteak and got the worst sandwich I have ever had. It cost 11.00 which wasn't badly priced for Cheesesteak but when I recived it the bun was cut in half and the meat, onion and peppers was very greasy and made the bread soggy and the sandwich was overfilled. I went to take 1 bite and all the cheesesteak fillings emptied out the bottom and was no longer a sandwich anymore. In a Philly cheesesteak the bread isn't supposed to be cut all the way threw so you don't loose all the cheesesteak fillings. I ended up throwing that hot mess away and was very disappointed. Will definitely not be eating there again. Definitely no one working here was from Philadelphia that was for sure! The only things I didn't do at the Clark County Fair was the Midland Country Music Concert, Rough Stock Rodeo, SxS Racing, Tuff Trucks, professor Smart Sience Show, Break-A-Boyz, and Mars Encounter Live Show. The new venue allowed for more space, and there was a lot more food this year, especially compared with 2018, which was very drink-heavy. None of the lines were too long, which was a huge bonus! Dan Mallahan (Rider at Hotel Theodore, Seattle) had one of my favorite dishes--a halibut crudo. The "make your own tea blend" at Brew Dr. kombucha was fun. You got to select a tea base and up to 3 other ingredients to bring home in a tea canister! Overall, a great event and venue (if the weather cooperates).
