I really enjoyed walking along the Seawall and get a fantastic view of the Vancouver skyline. It's especially pretty with the reflection of the skyscrapers and other buildings in the water. There are ducks, seagulls and we saw a blue heron there as well. There are rows and rows of daffodils and crocuses growing everywhere. Love the architecture and aesthetic of this beautiful city.

Beautiful area to walk along the edge of Stanley Park for water views. There's a separate bike/wheel land and pedestrian pathway. It can be crunchy with the crowds so after about a mile we ducked into the park for quieter pathways to walk with our dog. We started at first beach, walked by second beach and third beach had strict no dog access. Most of Stanley Park is friendly for dogs as long as they are on leash. Path is smooth and most of the wheeled path is raised with a curb to separate the two paths.

The seawall started as an erosion-prevention feature. It dates back to at least 1917 with a widening program completed in the 1970s. The path is now mostly wide enough to accommodate both pedestrians and cyclists, thanks to a one-way program that follows the seawall in a counter-clockwise direction. I both walked the seawall to get to the Prospect Point Lighthouse and then went back to the van to get my ebike, riding it past the Discovery and the Brockton Point Lighthouse. The seawall is probably the easiest method for seeing the Lions Gate Bridge, the fabulous Vancouver skyline and getting to the lighthouses of Stanley Park. If your timing is good, you might be able to photograph a container ship entering or departing the harbor. Regardless of whether you're walking, jogging, skating or biking, please be aware of the others on the trail and take care. The only way this successfully works is if it is shared by all users with care to avoid collisions. [Review 20873 overall - 50 in British Columbia - 1857 of 2023.]

The trail of seawall path is long, there's many things to see along the path. Canada place, seaplane landing and took off, beach rocks covered with mosses, Lions Gate Bridge, 9 o'clock gun and many more.

In August 2019, my wife, two sons (13 and 11 years), and I enjoyed renting bikes and exploring the seawall loop in Stanley Park. We took a taxi from our hotel to the southern edge of the park and rented bicycles from a place on Denman. Once on the trail, we followed the signs along the seawall going in a counterclockwise direction. The stunning views of downtown Vancouver, the Lions Gate Bridge, and the beaches on the west side were beautiful. It was also a lot of fun to get some exercise while sightseeing. The seawall can be crowded in some sections of the trail especially if you have many bicycle riders and pedestrians clustered together. But most of the time, it was not a problem. If you're traveling with family, biking along the seawall is is a "must-do" experience if you are visiting Vancouver for the first time!

The views of the mountains and water on this path are so beautiful. I would walk this everyday if I lived near here. So much to see along the path but you can also just sit near the water and take it all in. Definitely a place to walk around if you're visiting (or living here). I also love how the paths are wide and organized for both bikers and walkers.

I've walked the seawall and biked it. Definitely a must-do when you're in Vancouver. I rented an e-bike (electric bike) and took to the path with a friend. The views are so gorgeous, and on an April day with the sun shining, you can't beat it. The path is easy to follow if you're paying attention. If you're biking, watch out for the occasional pedestrian straying onto the bike path. Ding your bike bell at them and let them know they're on the bike path before you breeze by them. Anyway, I love the Seawall -- it's sights and smells and sea breeze... all wonderful! I'll definitely be back on my next visit, maybe even with some roller blades.

We spent the entire day here, basically. We walked to Stanley Park along the sea wall, then walked back to the ferry to Granville Island, ate there, ferried back to Lam Park, then continued walking to the casino. Then through Yaletown, stopped for a beer, then walked back to sea wall and back to our hotel. The walking is beautiful, amazing views, and a great slice of life for Vancouver. We saw school groups, sports clubs, people working on their yachts, parents with children, and many other wonderful examples of Vancouver life. It happened to be a gorgeous day, warm and eventually cloudless sky, perfect. Endless opportunities to stop or depart, get something to eat/drink. Or just keep walking. A perfect day for us.

    There is an actual wall!

Seawall is a great activity area to see how scenic and green Vancouver is. Located in Stanley Park, just follow the signs to the biking area. You must pay to park here. Very popular for tourist to take the biking path along the shore line. If you do not bike, there is a walking path. Just make sure you are in the correct lanes. Great views!

The biking or walking path around Stanley park. No cars which is just amazing

There are many gems in Stanley Park but the ones that I took back with me as being the amazing was biking the seawall. You could easily walk it and that would be a nice experience of 3 hours or so without stopping. For me, I found such a great experience biking it ... there's something to be said to be taking in the beauty of the water and nature at a speed that lets you zoom as quickly as the birds around you. The great thing about the Seawall is that it's an easy trek for both bikers and walkers... it's so well maintained that you dont feel any bumps or holes in it. Even the most novice of bikers would feel comfortable pedaling themselves here. For those who are unsure of the experience, you can go as leisurely or as quickly as you want. If you worry about crowds, I recommend doing it during the week as it's quite empty and often you have 100s of metres to yourselves. It's quite easy to stop when you want to take a pic or even just take in the view... which I will say is OFTEN. I thought my 1 hour ride would be easy... 2 hours later, I was finally ready to go as I've seen everything I wanted. Another thing for people going around the seawall, it can be a bit cold when it's not sunny... the wind coming off the water has quite the chill and I was wearing my best hoodie to protect me from the wind. Just a fair warning to anyone. Also, there isnt any obvious hiding spots when the rain hits you so if you need to get some cover, you have to get into one of the central landmarks for some cover. Lastly... dont do what I did. I started to cycle clockwise... it's COUNTER clockwise. So now you know. To me this has to be one of the experiences every visitor needs to do and I highly recommend it. It's not only beautiful but quite unique as it preserves the natural rugged coastline while still letting you enjoy it easily.

A runner's dream: paved 9K trail around beautiful Stanley park, with views of the water and the city skyline. Lane is divided in half for bikers and walkers, runners, roller bladers, etc. to ease congestion. It's a dog-friendly area, so bring your canine companion. Bike and gear rental shops are at near the entrance of Stanley Park, super convenient. I can't say enough great things about this route, every city should have such a picturesque and accessible natural area for exercise.

It…read morewill break down barriers, and two hearts that beat the same rhythm will be pinned together. I believe it. I just do. Your thoughts might be different. But have the day I did, here in Vancouver and Stanley Park--and this trail in particular--and I think you'll come around. I hope you do. It started at the Granville Island Public Market, where I bought all the things for a picnic. I've gone on and on about that before, with a detailed list about my purchases of cheese and meats, and I've also gone on and on about my thoughts on picnics and how they take me to a place I've been before--and hope to be again, to be honest--so I won't drone on again. What I will say is that the missing piece of the whole experience was here on the Lovers Trail. Strictly speaking, this is a portion of trail that begins on the west side of Stanely Park, just south of Third Beach on the west shore. It cuts across the park and crosses over several other trails including the Tatlow Walk and the Squirrel trail, before merging with the Lake Trail and taking that trail's name. From there, the Lake Trail takes you over the 99 and off to Beaver lake, and then the east shore. But I'm still back on the Lovers Walk. With the final piece of my picnic. It's a chocolate raspberry tart. Just like the one I'd had at The Dodo (in SLC) a few months before. I sat there on a bench. Thinking about my day. And about my picnic. And about love. And hiking. And how they should all fit together. Sometimes you just have to sit there and let the trail talk to you, and that's what this trail does. It makes you think about love and lovers, and it makes you reflect. It may only be a short trail that takes less than 30 minutes to traverse, but it will probably be with me for years. Maybe that's what happens when you walk the Lovers Walk on your own? Maybe to break the curse I need to come back and share that chocolate raspberry tart?

Rumble in the Jungle!…read more Three of us spent 8 days with a BikeHike adventure in Panama. This was a fantastic experience. Panamá has a lot to offer in a small package. We toured the Panama Canal by bike, took dugout canoes to an indigenous village, camped on a Pacific Coast island where we snorkeled, fished and Kayaked, rode bikes, hiked and zip lined in the mountains, and stayed overnight at our guides coffee farm in a cloud forest, while enjoying gourmet food. This trip was so well organized and the food and accommodations were great. Best of all - our guide, Rolando! A great guide and an even better human being. He took such good care of us and demonstrated how to run tours while treating everyone, clients, co- workers, and other vendors alike, like friends. This trip was rated as moderately challenging and that's an accurate rating. Because of how active this trip is you want to be in good shape. And don't forget SPF clothing and sun screen!

An Unforgettable Slovenian Dream: Biking, Hiking, and More-Pure Bliss with Bike Hike!…read morePrepare to be swept away on an adventure of a lifetime! The 8-day Bike Hike Slovenia trip in May was nothing short of extraordinary - a meticulously crafted journey that delivered an unparalleled blend of exhilarating activities, breathtaking scenery, incredible food, and deep cultural immersion. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into an adventurous dream. Our days were packed with diverse activities: vigorous bike rides on sturdy e-bikes, providing power-assistance for the hilly terrains and winding backroads, alongside well-maintained bike trails; invigorating hikes up alpine trails, including a challenging climb to a mountain-top lunch after witnessing daring cliff jumpers; and the sheer thrill of whitewater rafting on the dazzling, milky-blue (limestone) Soca River, complete with exciting rapids. We also enjoyed a scenic train ride through a mountain, a tranquil paddleboarding session on pristine lakes, and walks through charming towns. Slovenia itself is a marvel - a land of incredible natural beauty, characterized by its most outstanding green landscapes, oxygen-filled air, and spacious, immaculately clean environments; we saw no garbage or graffiti anywhere, a true testament to the evident pride and loyalty its people hold for their country. The scenery was truly diverse, transitioning seamlessly from the chilling majesty of the Julian Alps to the postcard-perfect serenity of Bled Lake and Lake Bohinj, then to charming chalets overlooking verdant wine country, and finally to the historic coastal city of Trieste before concluding in the Italian-influenced beauty of Piran. The cultural and culinary experiences were equally rich. We delved into history with visits to WWI caves and a local home museum that brought the era to life, complete with tastings of traditional schnapps, polenta, and goulash. Sweet delights awaited at a chocolate factory tour and tasting, and we gained fascinating insights at a bee museum lecture. Dining was a daily extravaganza, from hearty bean with sauerkraut dishes to lavish breakfast feasts enjoyed on hotel verandas overlooking lakes, vineyards, or alpine vistas. Evenings brought local appetizers, overflowing salads, and succulent meats and fish, culminating in an unforgettable Adriatic Sea open-seating restaurant experience with various appetizers, three exquisite fish courses, and delightful desserts. What truly set this trip apart were our guides, Miha and Juri. They were simply outstanding - organized, safety-conscious, and possessed an uncanny ability to anticipate and meet the needs of all 13 women in our group, often before we even thought to ask. Their local knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine care transformed an already fantastic itinerary into a seamless and deeply personal experience. This trip was an immersive, oxygen-filled, and utterly breathtaking escape. We felt invigorated by the abundant exercise, from climbing 100 steps to a church and WWI memorial to strenuous mountain hikes and thrilling bike routes. I could go on and on, but truly, the pictures speak volumes. This Slovenia adventure is a must-do that absolutely HAS to be on your bucket list. Bike Hike consistently organizes dream events, and this one was no exception!
