It's inside a building, but signage outside is small and not very clear, so it took a bit of wandering before I even found the line. I actually even passed the building up while walking. I needed to use the restroom before going up and saw signage for the one near the food court. Honestly, it was absolutely disgusting and didn't have paper towels. I ended up walking completely out. When I asked the lookout staff about a restroom, I was initially told there wasn't one. Then once they asked if I was intending on buying a ticket, it suddenly appeared that there all of a sudden was a restroom available upstairs. Hmmm but at any rate, it was a completely different experience from the first restroom. Thank goodness. The lookout itself feels dated. You do get a full bird's-eye view of the city, but there wasn't anything especially exciting or memorable about it. They also charged more than what was posted on the signage, so it looks like a recent price increase, $24 CAD mid June. Overall, if you go in with low expectations and just want a quick view of the city, it's fine. But I wouldn't call it a must-do in Vancouver.

The screen was SO big that I could see Brad Pitt's sweat coming out his gorgeous pores! The theatre was clean and the movie started on time. Check, check! The popcorn had been freshly popped and the restrooms were tidy. A good experience. I'd return to this theatre location.

"Gold" (from the UK) captures the intense and singular focus of two teenage gymnasts in their quest for gold. Their elite athleticism is awe-inspiring but the film does a terrific job portraying the two as normal teenage girls resplendent in all their awkwardness. Except for the two Adirondack chairs, it's standing room only, but it's an enjoyable change of pace for 11mins and the films will transfix you. Running every day (closed Mondays) from 10am to 8pm until March 1, 2009. FREE event.

They also make sure to make you feel comfortable before starting and are more than happy to guide you through everything no matter how many questions you have. They have VR escape rooms as well as VR games, both are super fun but I'm personally a fan on their escape rooms because it is so different that your usual escape rooms that you see. The first time I went there we tried their Chernobyl escape room, it was a 3/5 star difficulty but we managed to escape 2mins before the hour!! It was so much fun, their VR technology is very impressive. When I went this time, I tried their Sanctum escape room which was very eery for me (I'm also easily scared so this might not be the experience for everyone). There were no jump scares in this one but it was based on a cult so it gave me the heebie jeebies! This was also a 3 star difficulty level but this time we managed to escape 15mins before :) since we had 15mins remaining, the staff let us play VR dodge ball to kill some time which I truly appreciated!! They are honestly soo nice! Their waiting room also has some arcade games that you can play to pass time. I can't wait to back a third time and try some of their other escape rooms!

They have lots of VR gaming options and as just my son and I, we narrowed it down to Arizona Sunshine and Propagation, both zombie apocalypse games. We opted for Arizona Sunshine. A little bit of a learning curve on the reloading but we both sorted it out. Checking vehicles for extra ammo is a must to be successful to get to the next level. And love that they can track your game progress so when you return, you can start off where you ended the last session. It was so much fun and the staff were so helpful. It was a positive VR gaming experience and happy to recommend Evolve VR.

Apparently he did some (by modern standards) bad stuff. They toppled his statue in February 2022. Look for the weird mound to the SW corner of Powell/Water and Carrall/Alexander (ie Maple Tree Square). They try to keep this old district as historic looking as possible. Roads are will made of brick, and the pedestrian barriers are old school posts and chains. Some of the buildings are newer, but they keep the old historical facades. Actually has a nice 19th century feel with a bit of imagination. Food is overpriced, and the streets are filled with hordes of tourists during the cruise ship season (summer months). Nice lively feel. Be sure to visit the famous steam clock (spoiler - it is actually electrically powered, but belches steam to keep the tourists happy), and pop by the Lamplighter Pub (officially Vancouver's oldest pub, but I think the Cambie pub nearby is technically older) for a beer.

Sometimes we have to line up more than 1 hour to watch special event or performance or get autographs from voice actors from Japan. but it is worth the wait! And we always enjoyed shopping at exhibitions hall for anime goods, fan arts and watching performances. This 3 days event is really amazing. Can't wait for next year!

A long running anime convention that came back last year after a 2 year hiatus…read more UBC, as a venue, is fine for a 3000-5000 person convention but is probably too small for anything bigger than that. There didn't seem to be enough space for all the vendors, artists, panels, screenings and such that didn't require a lot of walking. The content was excellent. There's always tons of things to do and even if you're just there to show off your costume, you'll have a lot of fun. The vendor area was ok. There seemed to be less vendors than the last time they were at UBC but I guess that's to be expected in the first year back. The variety left a little to be desired but the ones there worked really hard to get your business which was nice. It made you feel like your business was appreciated. Artist Alley was ok. The caliber of artists seemed lower than in previous years. If you're an anime fan, this definitely is the place to go.
