I've stayed here a couple of times and the rooms are beautiful up to a finest detail. The service is fantastic, always friendly and knowledgeable staff. The breakfast is so good you can easily skip lunch. The breakfast buffet includes many salty and sweet items, fresh veggies and fruit, hand crafted omelet, salmon, yogurt, Karelian pies and so much more. Don't miss the tyrni shots on the side shelf, they are fabulous! The hotel also provides a welcome drink, ask for a non alcoholic one if you're interested, they are delicious! Really great hotel, one of my best stays. If I had more time, would spend some of it at the hotel itself. I'd only miss a gym attached to the hotel but they provide an access to a nearby hotel downtown. The word is that this is the best hotel in town and cannot but agree!

It's a rare night that you don't witness something funny or interesting while waiting for your portion with fellow night owls. They offer a good selection of home-made burgers, a very nice curry chicken portion, a good veggie choice of blue-cheese fries that all make your visit worthwhile. Despite the extensive list of choices just as great as the other, the real reason you want to make sure you stop here during a visit to Jyväskylä is to have a taster of the main local delicacy - taksari, a portion consisting of crinkle-cut fries, crispy pieces of frankfurter type sausage, all piled on with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, fried onion, fresh onion, cucumber cubes and topped with mustard relish, pepper mayo, ketchup and mustard. This portion is so epic and delicious that you can stop by and have it for lunch and still think it's just as tasty. If you want to go big, you can take a double-meat version called lihapullataksari, which is all this and a side of meatballs.

The atmosphere was nice (apart from the music that is not everyone's liking, but traditional thai) and after a long study of the menu we decided to take 3 dishes for the 2 of us. The quality of the food was above average for a european Thai restaurant (farang style so not to spicy, but that was good for my guest). Flavors were balanced though i found the mussaman curry a bit to toned down as I prefer it a bit stronger. My coleague however loved it so this probably has more to do with the way I am used to Thai food. Te price was not cheap and not overly expensive considering we had 3 dishes to choose from (normally enough for 3) and drinks for a total of 40 euros. Definetelly worth the visit even when another thai restaurant in town was recommended by a local Thai. Sabai Thai is more conveniently located
