Review Visit: August 11th, 2015 A quest for coffee lead to a stranger's Van. While on the way to Dunn Brothers Coffee, we needed to stop for food after a semi-long drive. Being new to the area, we took to Yelp to see what was popular in the local area. My friend and I decided on Van's, because they had pizza and burgers. What else could you want? So we stopped off and fueled up on burgers. Since we both were starving, we decided against a shared pizza as it wouldn't fill both of us up. I don't remember what my friend had, but I had some kind of bbq/onion burger and it was pretty good. Not stellar, but by far better than some of the burgers I have had. My friend, Matt, enjoyed his food as well. The staff was friendly and chatted with us for a bit. The restaurant itself was nice. It was spacey and plenty of room to hold a busy Friday crowd without it being too packed. The day we went was winding down from a lunch crowd, so it was pleasantly busy but quiet. Van's is a pretty nice place. It would be a frequent destination for myself and friends if we lived in the area and needed a good burger and beer. This is one stranger's Van you can enter. Went there around 5:00 on a Sunday evening for pizza. Waited over 45 minutes and when they brought us a pizza it was not what we ordered and you could see it was undercooked. The server apologized and said he would have them make us the correct pizza. Since we waited so long and would have to wait again, we asked if they could make us an hordourve since we were really hungry. They came back with "it would take too long to make but they could bring us some CRACKERS" and they would give us a 20% discount! CRACKERS!!! After at least another 1/2 an hour our pizza came undercooked and the crust was RAW. (And besides that, we had asked for pepperoni and there was none on the pizza.) So we sent it back again and they brought it back to us 10 minutes later, still raw and undercooked! Of course we left and they so kindly said "we are not charging you for the pizza or the coke you drank" No, we did not take the pizza with us and my other regret was I did not take a picture of the RAW pizza. read more

First visit to Van's tonight- won't be the last. Cold tallboy for just $3. Excellent pizza, split 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 Italian sausage. Sausage was great, nice seasoning with plenty of fennel- definitely not bland like many shops. Also ordered a couple kids pizzas that were large portions for a kids menu. Service was great- kudos to Eric, just on time & good service without too much fuss. I was out of the QC area for a long time so I hadn't been there since it was Pat McGuires- still a great pub atmosphere! read more

General fare of pizza, burgers, chicken wings and beer. Good for a quick and casual meal. Service good and friendly. Atmosphere is pub and sports bar like with tvs and jukebox. Just a bit too cold for me to want to hang out awhile though. read more

The pizza is not much better than Domino's. It's sad because years ago they bought out a pizza place downtown. Moline called Brix that made amazing woodfired pizza. After buying them out, they just shut down now they have some of the worst pizza you can get in a real restaurant read more

Sports bar feel, great place to catch a game. Food was meh... We had the "Yo Adrian" speciality pizza and nachos (big portion but poor quality of food/cheap taste like the taco pizza toppings). On Wednesdays Van's has $3 burger baskets after 6pm. Are they the most amazing burgers ever? Nah. But for $3? They're SO GOOD!!! And the burger comes with a generous portion of fries, which are deliciously seasoned. Slow. For appetizers, we had the spinach dip, which h was decent but came with a little bit of pita bread and a handful of generic tortilla chips, which downgraded the dip. We had buffalo wings, tasted decent but small, and garlic parm that were just covered in a salad dressing and not good. Entree I had tenderloin, which was worse tenderloin I've had in my life. Went to Van's on Sunday, April 28, afternoon for pizza. When we arrived, we sat at a table in plain view of the bar. There were several people at the bar, but we were the only ones in the dining area. After sitting there for 10 minutes and being completely ignored, we left. Van's pizza in Davenport does have decent pizza ...used to be the place to go to get some good specials on food. Sunday was the day we liked to go because they had a pizza special (eight dollars for a medium). We visited Vans on Sunday, May 15, 2022 and they raised the price from $8 to $13 for medium pizzas on "special" That's a big jump and that is no special! It appeared they had raised the prices on the entire menu. I realize food prices are going up, gas prices are going up, but prices are going up for ALL the people who have come in and have supported you for years. Going out to eat in a restaurant is a treat for most people. So getting a good value on food specials on certain days is also very important. When giving back to your loyal customers is no longer a priority, that's when you'll suffer as a business. read more

What a joke! Stopped in for a beer and a slice of pizza. Sat at the bar for over 10 minutes with no sign of a bartender, server - anyone who "worked" here. A couple of us walked out and on to another bar/restaurant and glad I did!! I know it's a Saturday afternoon but hey, if you can't staff it and don't really want customers, why OPEN?? Here on work, I was looking for a place with free wifi & an affordable lunch. Im so glad That I stumbled across this place! It has a "dive bar" feel, without the dirt! Very clean, cozy, Great food, great prices, friendly staff. We had been driving over 60 miles to visit weekly. Once the Governor established a mask mandate it was excellent. They spaced tables and wore masks unlike before. Great food and generous portions but Now that restrictions have lifted, they've thrown all mitigation strategies out the window so it's not a safe place to dine. Why take three steps backwards and prolong the pandemic???? You're not helping ! So reckless on their part because they should continue to take necessary steps in keeping customers safe. Lets just say Van's is awesome for what it is...good bar food, good drinks, and good service. I go to Van's once or twice a week during the summer after playing volleyball nearby. Everyone in my group always seems to get great food. The personal pizzas and mini pitchers of beer on Sundays are some of our favorites. The staff is always accommodating, friendly, and more than willing to give everyone separate checks (and they almost always get all 10+ checks completely correct)! All in all, this is a great place to catch up with friends or stop along the Duck Creek bike path for a refueling brew or two. read more

It's Sunday. The bar is pretty active. Got a table, ordered pizza and drinks. 30 mins go by and we watch tables around us get served. Being self-sufficient, we walk to the bar to get ourselves something to drink. Waitress sees but doesn't stop by. Sooo, we flag her down. She blames the bartender but is back in a flash with drinks...been here an hour now and no pizza. No check in by the waitress. I have no idea how good will be or if we will be able to get it before we have to be somewhere else, but I can't say I'd recommend anyone stop here who's starving, doesn't want to get their own drinks, or doesn't have at least a few hours to kill. Get your poor waitstaff some help. Could be a great place if she had some support. read more

Greet little spot, nice ambiance and great pizza. Special on Tuesday is any large for $12. Nice thin crust. Only missing one star because of the somewhat past it's life lettuce in the side salad and the ranch (but we are ranch snobs). After several attempts to find the perfect place to acquire my severe pregnancy craving of loaded Cheesy fries we drove past Vans pizza and my husband suggested we try it due to previously having their pizza at work and enjoying it. When I entered the facility I was mildly skeptical as there weren't many patrons and it seemed a little run down. However the service was lovely and our waiter Jordan was very kind and attentive. We started off with their Buffalo chicken dip and let me tell you it was one of the best things I have eaten in a long time. All of the gooey cheese and hot Buffalo dip on pita bread was exquisite. I knew after that that the whole menu had to be a hit. I ordered their loaded cheese fries with ranch... and they were genuinely the best cheese fries I've had in my life. Loaded with bacon, cheese and a side of ranch... BUT the ranch wasn't ordinary it tasted as though it was made with sour cream? Literally so delicious and I have been craving it ever since. My husband got their crybaby burger (the waiter stated this was his favorite item on the menu) with loaded cheese fries and was overall impressed as well. Even as I type this I can't help but want more of the loaded cheddar fries with ranch... literally so darn good. 10/10 would highly recommend. read more

The food was amazing. We had four in our group so we all had a selection of food. The buffalo chicken is very good not to much to it but still a good pizza. The BBQ pork pizza was awesome. Where can you find a pizza with BBQ sauce, chunks of BBQ pork, onions, pickles and potato chips on it? This place!!!
