I ordered shoes on 2nd September, thinking I have 365 days for possible return, because that's what was written on the website. This month I decided to return them, unused, originally packed, but the shop refuses to accept it, telling me JUST NOW that their return conditions have been changed on 1st September and actually it's now just 60 days - but NOBODY has informed me anywhere about this HUGE change and surely that was not mentioned on their website either at the time of my purchase. The shop clearly failed to fulfill its own responsibilities which is to inform customers about suddenly shortening the return time by 305 days. This is completely unfair towards me and I can say that this is my worst experience with an online store I have ever had. The customer service is very bad as well, it's very hard to get any response, especially in such situation. read more

Not wanting to patronize the Amazon juggernaut (they're getting too big and powerful), I buy my outdoor and bushcraft gear from smaller retailers. Varuste is an outdoor gear and supply store that is based in Finland. I ordered some now-discontinued Fiskars hatchets and Gerber knives that are hard to find in U.S. stores. Prices were reasonable, and, shipping was fast, via FedEx Priority International. I'd definitely buy from Varuste again, and, I recommend them without hesitation. read more

Ordered a 300$ order 2 weeks ago. They don't want to ship my order because theres is a 5$ patch that is not in their hand. I semt them 5 emails telling them to refund me my 5$ patch and send the order. Nobody ever responded to me. Only automatic messages. This company is a scam. Ordered an Aimpoint H-2, I experienced MUCH slower shipping than anticipated, and they sent me an old Used item, No attempt at all to hide it either, they just put the sight completely loose inside the aim point box, the box looks OLD, the battery was already inside the sight, there was loctite on the sight threads. I emailed and got no response, so i called and showed them the pictures, after chatting the lady said it was a mistake that this item had been on display (likely untrue, as there was loctite residue and wear, on the screw threads), I was asked to send it back and they'd send me a new one after, was told also ~3x to please use the cheapest shipping possible (weird request, considering they just tried to defraud me?.... Also the normal thing would be for them to arrange pickup of the item with the courier, instead they tell me to do it..), at the end of the call was told to please only use the email thread we had going on, but that email thread is only me telling them what happened and pictures as proof, as they did not reply to any email, I assume as to not leave evidence of what was agreed, it was also implied during the call, as is common, that a followup of the call is done via email summing up what was agreed. . I believe they intend to get the item back and keep the funds. Note that this company has changed name/website, possibly to wash all these previous bad reviews. Terrible service on location and online. If you are looking for something no one helps you even with a simple finger point to where to go if they are helping another customer, you have to wait for them to finish selling a boat to someone before they can get to your minor question. I ended up buying my rain gear elsewhere. When ordering online they take over a week to collect your items that they have in stock. Day before a trip I had to go collect my oder myself from the store because they couldn't do it in time. Now my weekend camping trip has to be postponed to whenever they decide to do anything about the order I placed and paid a week ago. If you can get your gear elsewhere, avoid this shop. If you have month to wait for your order to be even collected, you can probably get it through these guys. Visit the shop if you can find everything yourself, the staff is always busy and unhelpful. My husband is from Finland. I wanted to replace his Nokian boots from 30 years ago. I found them on this website at a fair price. I expected shipping costs to be high, but could not find these boots in the US. The website says the VAT (Value Added Tax) of 24% would be charged on the order but reimbursed when the items were shipped to the US. That did not happen. It's an additional $46 charged on top of item costs and shipping costs. I have written two emails and have not had a response. I was very worried to order from an online company in another country without having a middleman like Amazon involved. The products are fine and arrived within 10 days. That was a relief. Now, if I could only get them to respond and reimburse that VAT like the site promises! read more
