This review reflects my personal experience with this clinic…read more On May 7th of this year, 2025, I took my dog Friday to Laura Moon for his annual exam. Laura Moon said he needed his teeth cleaned. She also administered a rabies vaccine, and on the certificate, it stated that the vaccine lot expired on January 18th 2025. In other words I believe she gave him an expired vaccine, from the information I received from their clinic. The vet clinic claimed it was a clerical error, and to rectify this they would email me the proper paperwork. I didn't receive anything so I emailed the clinic on the 14th of May, and they said they would mail me the paperwork. The paperwork they mailed me contained a new rabies certificate that claims that Friday received a new vaccination on May 14th, the date of the email exchange, for which he never received. It has the vaccination tag taped to the new certificate. I still have both certificates with the tags taped to them and the emails. After this I was just going to stop using them for vet services. Friday had cracked a tooth and so I was going to get him into a new vet, but there are waiting periods for the ones I tried to contact. I decided to take him to Green Hills and get his teeth cleaned and get that tooth out because it was hurting him, he had began shifting food away from that tooth and to the back of his mouth. I thought one more trip to this vet so that he could eat normally again and not be in pain, then finding a new vet would be priority. I told the vet clinic I wanted the cracked tooth removed and his teeth cleaned when I called them, and the lady on the phone said "level 3" cleaning. When I brought Friday in on October the 8th of this year, I told the front desk person and the vet tech that I wanted the cracked tooth to be removed. We also had X-rays done for an extra fee. When I called to check on Friday twice, the vet clinic told me they had to remove "a few" teeth, once when he was in surgery, and then after the surgery as well. I went to pick Friday up with my son after the procedure, and when I received the invoice, I found out they had pulled over 20 teeth from Friday, literally all the back teeth he was shifting his food to, except for one lone back tooth. I had Friday's teeth cleaned in May of 2024 at a different vet in Columbia, MO, where he only needed a level 1 cleaning and no teeth were pulled. The X-rays were also included in the Columbia vets teeth cleaning fees with no extra charges for it. How would he go from needing no teeth pulled and a level 1 cleaning to needing 22 extractions in a matter of a year and 6 months? Since Laura Moon pulled 22 teeth from my beagles mouth, he has not been eating as well, is struggling to eat soft food, is not drinking any water, and seems very depressed. The evening of the extractions, blood began pouring from both sides of his mouth, causing me extreme mental anguish to see and help him through. He has had only one bowel movement shortly after the incident at their clinic, with no other bowel movement since and is having less frequent urinations. I may need to take him to emergency care soon if I don't see improvement quickly. The whole reason I took him there was so that he would no longer be in pain and able to eat normally again, and now he will never be able to eat normally again, from my observations. This incident seems to be causing him even more medical problems as well. I'm very worried about him due to Laura Moon's actions. I'll also mention that my beagles are from a pharma research facility, one has a PTSD diagnosis, Green Hills knows this, and I don't feel that Green Hills took my dogs emotional health into consideration at all, especially not Friday's when they pulled out 22 teeth from his mouth all at once while he was asleep. Imagine going to sleep to wake up and more than half of your teeth are gone. Especially after spending the first half of your life being experimented on like you weren't even a living being. How traumatic, I would imagine, wouldn't you?

I was stressed out and not pleasant to deal with and the staff was supportive. After care they allowed me to send pictures via email and ask questions. I found the cost to be less then expected, the staff to be supportive and kind, the care to be amazing. The only criticism was the first vet did not have the experience to do the surgery and recommend I go to University to get it done, the subsequent vet at Discovery had the experience and said it was not an issue to do it there. Last night was one of the scariest, longest nights I've ever been through. After the festive events…read moreof the day and night, at around 11 PM, I had gone into my bedroom to change into my pajamas. When I came back out, I noticed a brand new empty and chewed bottle of trazodone on the ground... no lid... no pills. Oreo had chewed the bottle and possibly ingested up to 45 50 mg trazodone. I panicked. I began searching the house and backyard for signs of pills for the lid for literally anything and after thoroughly searching in the dark, I came up empty-handed. At that moment I knew we were racing against the clock. I called Mizzou, a 24 hour emergency vet here who told us they couldn't take us because we weren't already established patients (I don't understand what the point of that is) and that our first move needed to be to call the pet poison control to see what they say to do and to get a case number that we could then take to a different 24 hour vet called Horton Animal Hospital - Discovery . I called pet poison control, I got the case number, and was told to haul ass to Horton. So I did. Upon arrival however, the woman from the front desk came to the door and said, in the most rude... un-empathetic tone of voice, "We're not taking anybody in, you'll need to go to one of these other places." She said as she gestured to a piece of paper taped to the window, listing other hospitals (all two hours or more away)...and as the sheer panic set in and I began to cry, she immediately...no more words spoken...shut the door in our face. Literally shut the door in our face and walked away. I just started sobbing. The only option we had left was to drive an hour and a half to Veterinary Specialty Services - West VSS West, where the woman at the front desk (the most wonderful woman in the world) directed us to haul ass there, and took us in immediately. I am absolutely appalled and disgusted (as were the staff in O'Fallon) at how we were treated at Horton. The woman at the front desk last night had no empathy... and in my opinion, shouldn't be working there, or in that field of work, if her attitude is going to be that way towards people in their scariest, darkest hour. I've never felt so lost & abandoned by people who are supposed to help you. It felt inhumane to leave my 14-year-old son and I crying at the doors... but to just literally shut them in our face was truly... heartbreaking.... And abhorrent behavior. It left me completely speechless, dumbfounded and nauseous. The least they could've done was help us induce vomiting in the parking lot before driving so far away... and they even failed at that. I cannot express enough to anyone reading this... to not even bother going there. As it will only leave you feeling lost in the storm.

We had our female dog spay there and a few days later she came down sick, so we got another appt…read morefor Dr. John to see her on a Thursday. I could tell she was extremely sick and he didn't know what to do with her and just said if she wan't any better by Monday to come back in to see what he could do. She would have been dead by then!! Having some medical experience I could tell she was doing well enough to wait 4 more days. So I called MU vet clinic in Columbia and they got her in Friday. The doctor there knew right away she was in bad shape. Then stuck her right into the ICU that day and kept her there for 10 days. When she got home my wife had to take off work for a week to change dressings and help her walk outside. I believe she got the infection from the clinic's poor sterilization practices when they did the spay. We never went back because if I can do a better job at diagnosis than the vet, that tells me it is terrible place to put your animals!!!
