    Hendricks dirty martini

I really like this place. I tend to stop here whenever I'm going downtown with my husband or have a girls night. I love that they usually have Hendricks in stock and they make a good dirty martini. The live music is a vibe and the atmosphere is fun and go. The only thing is that I wish the martini glasses weren't plastic.

    The Vault

Perfect little local bar to grab a drink. Bartenders are always friendly and have awesome suggestions if you're ever wanting to try a new drink but don't know what to order. They host a lot of themed nights and events, that they regularly post on their Instagram, which is great for when I'm in the mood to go out on a weeknight (:

I always liked The Vault. One reason is because of the winding labyrinth-like alley out back evokes memories of medieval streets in France or Italy, just scaled down 99% or so. Cocktails here are the preferred drink and I suppose which bartender you score and how busy it is can play into the equation. Just don't ask for a fucking Mojito! I'm not joking about that! They're a bitch to make and unless they specialize in Cuban cocktails (like Habana in Costa Mesa) you will probably be disappointed and have a pissed off bartender. Heed the sign out front: don't be a douche and order a Mojito! That said, this isn't on the same level as an LA whiskey bar, but $2 Tuesdays draws the younger college crowd. It gets packed quickly after 10pm so beware. I visited The Vault recently after a long sabbatical with my youngest sister who is now 21 (yay). We had a couple of Moscow Mules ($3 for those) and enjoyed the brief time we had stools to sit on in the back alley. A pleasant but sticky evening, be aware the inside is not air conditioned. All-in-all, a great night and ok for the lowered priced drinks.

This is the angry face of a worker there trying to break my phone after he walked in on my girlfriend in the restroom

This was one of my favorite places until this gentleman walked into the restroom while my girlfriend was using it. He claimed to be the manager and said it was her fault for not locking the door. Once I started filming him he took a swing at my phone and said he would f****** break it. He walked away and got security they said it was his last chance and understood why we were so upset. Customers shouldn't be treated like that especially when they feel like they have been violated

Always appreciate cheap drinks but maybe in this case it's because there's so much ice in them lol

I bought my friends 5 mixed drinks and the total came out to $35 plus tip. I bought three shots and it came out to $30 with tip. The drinks are dirt cheap but the only downside is how much ice they put in the drink. Literally. So. Much. Ice. Decent outdoor bar. It can get a little cold but they have heaters to keep you warm. The music playing was suitable for a Friday night out with friends. Also did not understand why there was only one bathroom. The line went down the stairs and was a long wait just to get in.

Gotta love this swanky little bar in the I.E. It's one of the best bars out in this area. When you walk into the main entrance, the lights are dim and your eyes are attracted to the vintage decor. You walk to the bar and order one of their tasty martinis for only $7! I love their banana martini even though I tend to dislike anything banana flavored, After you grab a martini, you walk down a few steps into the next room. You get a sense of being in some type of underground alley. There is always music playing and a crazy light show flashing on the brick walls. This is a great place to just go and chill or to have a crazy night out with friends.

The Vault is one of those unique places everyone wishes they had in their local bar scenes. This ultra cool venue holds rich artistic vibes that would give any musically inclined soul inspiration. The best part about the place in my book is the live music on Saturdays, and wicked good cocktails on any day. The closed alley between buildings offers a perfect setting to host local bands and other acts. The little bit of seating offered in that area doesn't seem to faze onlookers. Only thing awkward about the setup is that the bathrooms are located right off the side of the stage area. I can't recall the cocktails that my boyfriend and I got that night, but whatever the bartender recommended was on point. Sweet, fruity, and fun to look at. If I'm ever back in town on a Saturday, I'll definitely swing by for another good night of fun, drinks, and live music.

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We enjoyed our one cocktail each here and just had great conversation. It was a fun night because of the company, and also because we had a little adventure going to two amazing places!

We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

It's a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends or family. The focal point of the main dining room is the bar, which faces the restaurant's entrance. Meticulously designed with a nostalgic feel, the bar features blonde wood shelves holding hundreds of vinyl records, carefully curated design objects, and a DJ booth neatly tucked into a corner next to the bar. The beer taps are elegantly minimalist, and every detail in the bar--for example, the old-fashioned glass syrup bottles--seems planned to give a nod to history (specifically the late 19th century, when Redlands was founded). The main dining room offers plenty of comfortable seating choices, including a long bar along the center of the room. The patio is spacious and well kept. All of the spaces inside and out have music piped in from the bar. There are two restrooms just off the patio, and these are well-maintained. On busy nights, patrons can enjoy a drink in a standing bar area just off the patio. I love that the Overland provides a choice of setting depending on the kind of night you're planning. A romantic date? Get a reservation to sit inside, and it feels intimate. Just hanging out? The bar is fun as the mixologists make excellent drinks and friendly conversation. Sitting at the bar after 7 PM, you can watch the DJs spin the platters. If you have a larger group or just like to eat alfresco, the patio is perfect. The menu offers a really nice variety of drinks, including the pricier craft cocktails, more classic, moderately priced beverages, nonalcoholic drinks, and all sorts of beer and wine. The food menu is solid, with plenty of appetizers, salads, entrées, and a dessert. The real star is the tacos! These are very moderately priced at seven dollars apiece, and all three varieties are delicious! There is a potato taco, a beef taco, and pork chili Verde taco. I highly recommend these! The green salsa they provide is extremely mild, but they do have a variety of hot sauces on hand. It's worth mentioning that even a humble plate of tacos is served on nice ceramic dishes, along with good flatware and napkins. The espresso martini cheesecake is creamy and delicious, and the portion is really generous. The staff seem to enjoy working at the Overland. The servers work hard to make sure your order is to your liking, and food comes out pretty fast. There's a good sense of teamwork among them. The staff is also accommodating about seating or any special requests. We've been there on a busy Friday night, and on a Sunday evening and late night. The Overland is always at least moderately busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. The city of Redlands should be very proud of this establishment. Go and have fun!

We made reservations for four, and as soon as we arrived, we were seated right away, which was a great start. Unfortunately, I noticed a few cleanliness issues almost immediately. The tables were pretty dusty, and the glass water cups we were given still had food residue on them. One even had what looked like a lipstick mark on the rim. I let our waitress know, and she apologized and quickly brought us new glasses. Those were still dirty as well, with (food residue) so I asked if she could replace them again. After the third attempt, the glasses finally came out spotless. It seemed like there may have been an issue with the dishwasher filter?, but I really appreciated how kind and apologetic our waitress was throughout the entire situation. The drinks were good overall. I ordered a couple of nonalcoholic drinks, and they were refreshing and flavorful. We also tried the cheese fries and the fried onion, and both were really tasty. Overall, I'd give this place a 6/10. The rough start with the cleanliness definitely affected the experience, but the service helped make up for it. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making things right, and that went a long way. I absolutely loved the vibe and the music, and I think this place has a lot of potential. I'd definitely be willing to give it another try because I think it could be a great spot for a fun night out.
