My buddy gave me a Kegerator for my birthday. But I need to find a place that sold the CO2 tanks and know how to service them. As I called and went around to the usual suspects. Liquor stores supermarkets none of them did it. My buddy Norm found Homebrew here in Las Vegas and the owner. Steve answered the phone. I found him very knowledgeable about kegerators. He had he had the CO2 tanks and I went to his place. He has supplies for making homemade wine and homemade beer and parts for kegerator. Steve was very knowledgeable about what I had and what I needed. When I got home, I put everything together and found out this kegerator had other problems. Steve answered the phone. He walked me through a bunch of fixes, but it turned out that I need some new parts went back over. It was really helpful on everything but he was missing one or two parts that he had to order. And it will be up and running next week. I don't brew alcohol, but I do use a Sodastream and I wanted to take advantage of the cost-saving benefits of using an external tank. Though I was nervous during my first visit and felt a little helpless, Steve was incredibly receptive and helpful to me. He sold me a new tank and explained how I could save the most money by getting it refilled at the place where he himself goes. In the end I opted to use the convenience of Vegas Homebrew for my tank exchanges and I don't regret it. Steve remembered me right away when I came in for my first exchange and double-checked that I wasn't experiencing a leak and that all was well with my usage. My brother-in-law and I decided to make some spicy home brew after we were in his garden and he realized he had more jalapenos than he could possibly eat, without burning his O-ring into and unfixable piece of flappy... well you get it. Off to Vegas Homebrew we went and met with Steve the owner, who literally had an answer to every question we had asked; everything from using the proper hops, how to make the beer spicy, and the approximate gestation of the beer from beginning to end. We had already bought a homebrew kit online, but we needed a few more ingredients to due to the type of beer we wanted. The only Homebrew place we have in vegas. Or place people can get supplies to make their own alcohol or beer. The owner is really nice. He stayed open for me for a few more mins so I could catch them before they close. It was actually my 2nd time coming here. The 1st time I missed them. Arriving around the time they close. The 2nd time I thought I would make it but it was a friday, and traffic was bad! I don't live close to here, so it was 20mins w.o. Traffic and 25 mins w traffic on friday when I went. So I called in to ask if he could stay open just a few more mins before they close so I don't have to make the drive and come home empty handed. Again! That sucks! Lol.. but he said sure thing. He was also really helpful. I was getting light Mault extract powder, to make agar not make my own alcohol. I think this is the ONLY Place in town that sells it now. Buying online is super expensive. I hope this place stays open. When my friend from NY comes to town I will bring him here because he makes a lot of his own alcohol at home as well. maybe the owner should sell online as well on his website. N free shipping if you spend so many dollars maybe cause then I might actually just order in bulk online lol... cause it is a drive, and traffic in vegas is just getting worse it seems. Steve and his store are amazing. My husband got a beer making kit as a Christmas gift a while back and has made only a couple of batches. Steve (owner) was nice enough to walk him through each step of the process and write everything out for him. It's a ton of work! It's also super cheap. He makes small batches, like a gallon or so and for the ingredients he doesn't normally spend more than maybe $10 (you obviously need the equipment too). I don't make the beer, but I love watching my husband learn about it and make it thanks to Homebrew's help. read more

I know a lot of beer drinkers out there that have never considered brewing their own beer. I guess it isn't a hobby for everyone, but I have recently discovered the awesomeness that is brewing your own beer! Vegas Homebrew has been an incredible help to me as someone who has just brewed his first batch of beer. The only place in town, this place is ran by two friendly fellows and experienced home brewers. They'll talk to you all day about brewing beer, and will help you purchase only the things that you need to start. Soon, I will be a good Yelper and get some photos of this little store for you folks to see. He's got grains, hops, extract kits for new brewers, kegs, a huge fridge full of yeasts, and tons of other equipment. So far, I picked up a 5 gallon plastic fermenting bucket, an extract kit, and a few odds and ends like sanitizer and extra airlocks. The total bill for my equipment and ingredients for my first batch was well under $90. I encourage everyone who is into good beer to look into homebrewing, and if you do, start out at Vegas Homebrew. I don't know much about home brewing anything! Thankfully the guy that runs this place does. He's VERY informative, friendly eager to help with whatever your project is. We stopped in to get supplies to build a jockey box for the upcoming tailgate season. Never built one before and he was able to walk us through everything. CO2 tanks, taps, hoses, washers, nuts, bolts, valves and anything and everything else associated with it. I'd would refer anyone interested in home brewing beer or wine here for sure. I have visited Vegas Homebrew multiple times for different equipment, yeasts for meads and beers, and beer recipes. The owner has been extremely helpful every single time I've been in. If you have no idea what you are doing this is def the place to come to. When I began my search for the perfect home brewing kit I checked countless websites and message boards on what to get and how much money to spend on the ideal home brewing kit. After a month or so of research I had a pretty good idea of what to get in order to make the perfect batch of sh*t face sauce. When I got there I realized all my careful weeks of research and planning had been in vein. The dude that was there, who I think was the owner, was more than helpful on explaining every bit of the home brewing process along with some of the science behind it. He informed me that a lot of the things being sold in some of the home brewing kit were unnecessary, which in the end saved me money. So I've been successfully home brewing and even when I ran into a little stuck fermentation problem I walked into Vegas Home brew and quickly got an answer and some yeast activator on the house to fix my problem. They have a great supply of grains and extracts as well as a full refrigerator of different yeasts. I plan on going back any day now to start another batch of brew.
