My boyfriend and I visited this Veggie Grill location with high hopes. We had recently visited the Tustin location a couple weeks prior during the OC restaurant week and had a stellar experience. We sadly left a tad disappointed by the experience, but would still return due to the fact that we love treating ourselves to vegan "junk food". We arrived about 40 minutes prior to closing time, and the restaurant was already shutting down with the floors freshly mopped and some of the seating already had chairs stacked on top the tables. After walking in and noticing these hallmark signs of a restaurant being closed (even though we arrived well within the hours of operation), we immediately felt unwelcome and felt like a burden to the staff. However, we both know how closing duties can stack up at the end of the shift and understand that the staff wanted to complete them as soon as possible. Keeping this in mind, we proceeded to order with the cashier, and decided to take our food to go. We selected the truffle Mac n cheese and steak quesadilla as we were craving comfort food options. Our food was prepared about ten minutes after ordering. We peaked inside the to go boxes and saw how incredible the food looked, and decided to quickly eat our meal at the restaurant, since we were both hungry and had a long drive home. We quickly ate the meal in a booth while the staff continued their closing duties around us. We finished our meal and threw away our trash a few minutes before closing. When we left, the front entrance doors were locked and we were confused as to exit. We looked behind our shoulder to gently ask for assistance in exiting the establishment, and the staff member pointed at another door and told us to use that door to leave. While she didn't say anything mean, the tone was rude and we felt like a burden to the staff rather than guests in a restaurant. I understand this restaurant is a quick service establishment and the closing crew wants to leave as quickly as possible, but gentle smile or a kinder way of explaining how to exit would've been appreciated. The food was tummy, albeit a little overpriced for the portions. Sadly, the staff made my boyfriend and I feel unwelcome and more of a hinderance. read more

I chose that, because I didn't want a vegan beef entree, as I'm leary of Impossible & Beyond meat. Buddha Brunch Bowl- The sunny side up faux egg was a reasonable facsimile of a real egg. The texture was about right, and the yolk even ran when punctured. The tempeh bacon had the flavor part, just not the texture. The mouth feel was that of a savory granola bar. My preference would've been for more ancient grains, than diced kale. Overall, a pleasant meal, before heading to nearby Crumbl for a calorie-busting dessert. Service was good. It's been a while since eating here. I was nearby so decided to pick up a quick bite. I ordered the same as I have in the past, but it's not nearly as good. Giving it a 4* because service was wonderful, especially for takeout. They asked about everything when ordering, so it was made perfectly. When food was ready (which was fast), I was asked if I needed napkins and utensils. Both were in my bag in 2 seconds. Unfortunately, they have changed the items I ordered. The cauliflower bites use to be big pieces of cauliflower, but now it tiny pieces of cauliflower with mostly breading. Also the salad was not nearly what I remembered. Pretty plain, lots of capers, and a much smaller portion. This new version of the food items would be no more than 3*. Not the experience I expected to have. One of my favorite comfort food places to eat. Everything is good, but I especially like their burgers and chicken sandwiches. I love veggie grill so much. I've been coming here for 10+ years. I haven't had a plant-based diet in a long time but I still come here regularly! The food is just so good. It's the same price as any other food place now so there's no reason not to eat it! Ha. The dishes are always complex with lots of flavors and a good variety of ingredients. Satisfying and delicious. Their bowls are my favorite, but their salads are just incredible. Yes, incredible. I usually grab VG on the way home from work and my orders are always ready on time. Wow, I'm so happy Veggie Grill is still around! My usual spot in Tustin (rumored to return summer 2025) at the Marketplace is currently under construction during renovation as it's been on hold for a bit. Luckily, this one just a short drive out of Orange County, about 10-15 minutes from Seal Beach. Veggie Grill was recently bought by Next Level, and they've upgraded most everything to organic ingredients, which is a big deal for me! Quality ingredients totally make or break a meal in my book. My go-to orders are the wings as an appetizer, plus the burrito and tacos. I'll throw in a burger every now and then too with fries. I honestly don't know why I don't go to Veggie Grill more often. On a recent visit, I ordered the chik'n bacon ranch sandwich ($12.45). It's a crispy chik'n filet, organic tempeh bacon, smoked Gouda cheese, organic lettuce, organic tomato and creamy ranch on a toasted pretzel bun. Delish. I momentarily forgot that the patty wasn't real chicken. Like chicken who? The melty Gouda cheese, organic lettuce, and tomato keeps the sandwich tasting real fresh. If you're more of a burger kind of person, it's safe to report that their burgers are equally delicious as well. I had bites of the Maverick burger ($15.45). Order this if you love the Bacon Western Cheeseburger. Here, they use house-seasoned 1/4 beyond patty, crispy onion rings, organic tempeh bacon, organic dill pickles, your choice of cheese, hickory BBQ sauce + house-made special sauce. Whew. Perfection. STEPH UPDATE: Still good after all these years and change in ownership. I've been coming to Veggie Grill for years and it's still good! They were recently bought out and I was afraid of what would happen to them, but so far the changes have been mostly for the better, I'd say. There are new items on the menu that I enjoy, and the prices are competitive with other fast-casual joints. On my most recent visit I tried two new items and loved them: Sesame tofu kale salad - fantastic! Flavorful and fresh Lentil soup (pureed lentils with chili-like flavor and texture, yum This is our go-to spot for a quick and healthy meal before going to the movies down the street. Our only gripe is with their new app, which doesn't seem to work as well as their old one. A birthday reward I was trying to claim wouldn't go through, so the cashier had to do it manually, and now to get credit for what you spend you have to input it from your receipt, instead of it happening automatically, as it did before. I had the best Valentine's Day meal here with my little Valentine! My son and I enjoyed the music, the space, and especially the food! Even though the parking lot and the surrounding streets were packed for rush hour and the special evening, the dining room at Veggie Grill was tranquil with many open booths. Just how I like it! We received excellent service and received our food quickly. The food was so good! I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and my little one had chicken strips and fries with lemonade and a cookie. The veggie grill in Orange County has been closed for over a year, I think, so I finally decided to check out an LA location! This one is located in a nice shopping center with plenty of parking and the restaurant is easy to find. I ordered a few things here - chicken tenders, Caesar salad and shrimp tacos, they were at 5/5! The interior and service were great. Two veggies go on a lunch date and are beckoned by the illustrious chain known as Veggie Grill in Long Beach's own Marketplace Long Beach off Pacific Coast Hwy & 2nd Street. They find amazing parking right on the street, just outside the massive parking lot along Shopkeeper Rd. Making a b line for the front door where the lunch crowd is slowly but surely growing. The menus nicely held in a holder for any and all to pick up and null over as well as a menu at the counter where you order and pay for whatever your heart desires at this plant-based fun-fare of vegan/vegetarian goodness. You can find a table or booth to enjoy the scenic bright view of the Marketplace for ever direction as well as some limite bar seating (think diner style). You can order the savory Buffalo Blitz wrap loaded with all the good veggies, crispy "buffalo chick'n," non-dairy free delicious ranch and served with a side of choice (always extra)... Though if you dine with someone an order of fries (sweet potato) can go along way for a table of two. As can a pack of soft chocolate chip cookies you definitely needed to add to your meal ;) This location doesn't carry any beer or wine like select others, but they do have a great selection of non alcoholic beverages including lemonade, teas, juices, kombucha, agua and more. Service is a 10 out of 10! Entire place is spotless (including the restrooms). They do have a small trash can near the beverage fountain, utensil & condiment area at the far end of the bar, but nowhere to leave plates like you'd expect. It was a very ragtag crew over the weekend in the early afternoon so I felt like I wanted to bring our plates to the end of the bar at least to make it easier. There is plenty of lot parking, but it does pick up and get busier at certain times so I definitely trust the local(s) when in the area. For my first time trying Veggie Grill, I think I ordered the wrong item because I was looking for a healthy meal and well.. I got what I wanted but it wasn't the best. I had the Quinoa with Seared "Chicken" which was just grilled tofu. Wasn't the best and it honestly tasted like cardboard. The cooks did their best and it was nonetheless still edible, I'm sure that I probably ordered the worst item on the menu. The location was clean, well-kept and the workers provide great service. 8/07/2024, This place is really going downhill fast and now I am seeing virtually zero to only a couple customers in this restaurant these days at any time. Maybe it's because of the one Spanish speaking store manager they have working behind the counter and the one Spanish speaking cook in the back where not only is the front line service is lacking in good service, but the cook in the back also can't prepare food properly. I came inside this restaurant around 12:30pm to originally order a sandwich and fries, but I only saw one customer in the restaurant sitting waiting for his food, so I thought to myself that I better just order fries instead. So I ordered a large golden fries without any salt. I waited a good five to seven minutes for the fries. I had to ask the counter manager employee for ketchup, he gave me only one so I had to ask again for an extra ketchup and for a fork and some napkins. You would think that he should have asked me first if I like ketchup and napkins for my fries and utensils instead of me having to ask for these items. When I got into my car to drive off, I opened the piping hot French fries only to discover not only how burnt they were but that most of them were very small in size like the old leftovers small fries from the bottom of the frozen freezer bag. The fries also tasted horrible for nearly $7. I concluded that I will never return to Veggie Grill again. It's simply gone downhill fast over the past four years. The food and the poor service is just not worth their higher prices these days. read more

Love the food here since it's you know, Veggie Grill. However-- VG really needs to get their shit together with their new products surrounding allergies. Why would you say a product that has tree nuts in it is "allergy friendly" and not tell your servers which products have what? We've never had issues at any restaurants for years when asking if there's xyz ingredient in xyz product. A few weeks back (at another VG), my gf and I ordered the new Just Breakfast and Wunderful BLT sandwich (they had a BOGO deal) and asked if it had any tree nuts in it (we got no as a response), and it turnt out that it did have tree nuts. My gf used her epipen and then we drove home-- it caused a lot of pain, but things turnt out okay. We went to this VG today, and decided to play it safe and order something we've already had many times (The Kimchi burger) since she didn't have a replacement epipen yet, but they ran out of the sunny side up egg. So the server asked if it was okay to replace the egg with another type of egg, to which my gf asked if the replacement egg had any type of tree nuts, cashews, etc to which the employee replied no. And once again, it turned out that they used Wunderegg which does contain cashew. So my gf ended up taking a couple bites, then we had to call 911 and get an ambulance for her. EDIT: Review updated-- the issue with allergies was taken extremely seriously, swiftly, and professionally. I hope next time around, there are allergy indicators on the menu and employees are informed of what's ingredients are used in each item. read more
