And theirs is the top of the list. (For old timers from the East Coast, remember Horn and Hardart? Comparable). Kelly is one of Venita Rhea's wonderful servers. They all are stellar, but we're regulars for Kelly. So, not only is the food delicious (they prep lunch, too), it's just plain fun to eat there. Wait time and service was really slow. Cold food! I was disappointed since it was rated as best Benedict's in Rocklin which are my favorite. Large open space in a lonely shopping area. It appears this place may have used to be an Italian restaurant based on the decor. Food was decent for breakfast. This is our second time being at this little place. I love how cute it is decorated. The food is wonderful and the service is amazing. Today, hubby had the country Benedict and I had a build your own omelette with some cheesy hash browns. If you are in Rocklin and have a chance to eat, I would recommend it. We moved to the Placer County area a couple years ago. Found this restaurant and enjoy the food, but mostly the people working there from the owners, the hosts the waitresses . everyone so kind.!! Recently, we went for breakfast and my mother had an incident she fainted. I thought she had a stroke at the table, the owner, the waitresses the patrons, they were wonderful and were so kind and so caring. Everyone who worked there and All who surrounded us at that busy time during breakfast, showed the act of human kindness and 100% caring and thoughtfulness!!! Kelli / Venita / Penny was our server today and WOW she is fantastic at her job. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in, and she carried a smile throughout our long breakfast. She was attentive and refilled our drinks quickly without any need for waiting. She was personable, kind, and fun to chat with. The food itself was great. My eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and the home fries were on the better side of most places. The only knock on the home fries was that the onions were a little too plentiful. I love onions, but even I had to set a handful of them to the side to balance out the ratio between them and the potatoes. A very interesting place... I came here on a whim being nearby and wanting lunch. Once I saw the name it was immediately clear to be a place I have had coupons mailed to me with a bunch of ad flyers. I was immediately greeted and seated in a comfortable part of the restaurant. The place is larger than expected The menu is rather ordinary, yet quite broad for breakfast or lunch. For lunch there's the usual array of sandwiches, salads, burgers. I chose a tuna melt with a side of cole slaw. There's a choice of sides besides slaw- fries, salad, fruit, tomato slices, cottage cheese. It seems to harken back to a bygone era most appealing to seniors (I am one!) The tuna melt was excellent on a thick crispy parmesan bread and chocked full of a delicious tuna blend and avocado, some slipping out the sides. The cole slaw was some of the best I have had in awhile, flavorful, fresh and not swimming in runny mayo dressing. My dining partner had the Philly cheese steak sandwich that looked awesome. It was HUGE, full of meat, melted cheese, peppers and more. A stack of fries that appeared quite delectable. Both meals were substantial, yet also on the pricey side yet worth it. Service was very friendly, efficient and on the ball. When it became apparent our sandwiches could do us in with just one napkin the wait person immediately brought more, being attentive, without our asking. I do, in jest, have to comment that something in their affect, effeciency and demeanor made it seem like they were created by AI. The only downside, and the loss on one star, is a desperate need for a interior makeover. The place looks very dated and tired, and in some ways not very clean. My husband and I joke about how this place hoards the top servers in Roseville because in all honesty they all rock. We became regulars here because not only is the food amazing, their entire staff is top notch. We have yet to be served by anyone who's not insanely friendly and kind and attentive. The ambience gives traditional American breakfast at an old American diner. My favorite thing to do is search for hidden objects in the painting on the wall. They have a beautiful painting on one or their walls and the artist adds new hidden objects every once in a while, so we look for hidden characters while we wait for food/eat. Their food is relatively cheap considering the large portion sizes and great taste so this is place became a favorite that we go to at least once a week. read more

We had a brunch planned with friends and they recommended this place because it is their go to spot. It says a lot about customer service when a place remembers their regulars. The inside is an Americanized Disneyland version of a French bistro and I thought it was great. There are colorful paintings that my friend told me contained pop culture Easter eggs. I regrettably forgot to check this out! It is spacious with seating arrangements for all sized groups. The service we received was some of the best in recent memory. I have not seen many people work as hard as her in any job. She remembered our friends' regular orders and was polite and professional with us newbies. She kept my coffee cup full the whole time and absolutely blew me away when she gave me a full "to go" cup before we left. I ordered the short stack of pancakes and bacon. The short stack is far from short. It is 3 large pancakes that I tried my best to finish. I failed though. The flavor on the pancakes was good and the bacon was bacon which is always tasty. It was my first time here. The food was amazing and the service was the best I've seen at any place in many years. The Bird's Nest Benedict was amazing and really 2 portion compared to any other restaurant. The Louisiana omelette was huge and big enough for two and packed full of ingredients. The fish and chips were so delicious and the fish (two pieces) was lightly battered with a beer batter and a perfect portion for one. I highly recommend this place and I'll be back! read more

Had brunch here for the first time today. It was fine. Totally normal diner type food. Our waitress was extremely nice but while we were sat right away, we didn't get drinks for well over 15 minutes. I had the eggs Benedict and it was tasty. The hash browns were well made and crispy. Overall it was fine. It was definitely on the pricy side for what it was (normal diner food) but the food itself was good. I probably won't come back unless someone wants to go. It's just not anything special. Have been there many times and it's always been good. The fired asparagus is 10/10 and they have excellent ranch. This time my mom and I split the bubble and Squeak, it can be 10/10 when they get the egg just right and not over cooked. We also split the jalapeño pastrami melt and it was delish. As a 30 year Placer County resident I have heard great things about this restaurant. Went to breakfast for my son's birthday and was very disappointed! Now the staff were awesome, great servers, but the food let them down. Runny egg white omelet, was not cooked, hollandaise sauce old and not good on the Benedict. Pancake was middle of the road. This was probably one of the worst meals I've ever attempted to eat. They are very expensive and I'm sorry but the food isn't fresh by any sense of the word. The oil they fry in needs to be changed, yuck. The restaurant is old and dingy, seats were torn. The staff is very nice and service was good, but we feel like we got really ripped off with the good. This was our favorite place until a few days ago. There was a big guy who had a poodle balancing on each shoulder. The waitress told us their paws never hit the ground the entire time. We were grossed out. we love dogs, but not in a restaurant! In California a restaurant owner can have a no pet policy or have them go outside on the patio. They are only required to let in seeing eye dogs. We won't be back! read more
