Very nice camp ground! I would absolutley recommend Le Gurp. I was happy to find a camping that…read moreused to be like in the "good old days"... basic, no party all night long, mixed guest of all ages and nationalites, very cheap because no unnecessary expense for "crazy extras"! I don't need a "wellness clinic" I want a nice and atmospheric place near the ocean. If this sounds suitable for you - I can warmly recommend Le Gurp.
To buy food/grocery it is advisable to have a car! The next village with bigger supermarket is a few kilometers away. One demerit is the supermarket at the camp ground which is high in price! Second demerit: the language. I know, in France it is not established to speak English. But I can not hide that I find it a bit strange, that even on camp grounds, hotels, restaurants... facilities that exist (amongst others) because of tourists.. the employees can't speak a word english. Similar thing at Le Gurp. I would'nt expect that people speak german with me.. and I did my best to do some conversation with my few french words.. but I was a bit disappointed that even quite simple phrases in english were not understood.
But I also would like to point out that the employees were very VERY kind, friendly, courteous and absolutely helpful!
