Just what we needed after a long day. We made this our last stop after a day of visiting vineyards. The cheesecake was amazing and my husband had the signature brownie and he said that it was warm and tastes like it had just come out of the oven. I also had the alfagatto. One of the people with us had the hot chocolate with toasted marshmallow and she said it was really good. The service was good. I am completely obsessed with this spot and want to visit it every time I am in town. Not only is it adorable but it always smells incredible inside and the service is friendly. My first visit to this establishment, I did not venture (no pun intended!) beyond the front counter but had a pleasant experience there. Hip/boho atmosphere, various sweets and pastries on display and a drink menu featuring items you don't see every day, such as sipping chocolate, cacao cold brew, spiced cocoa tea latte. I was intrigued by the Matcha Rose Oat Latte so I ordered that for myself and a Housemade Chai for my husband. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. I wanna give this place MORE than just 5 stars. 10/10 recommend. The wine and food part of the store is downstairs and has a wonderful atmosphere. Very chic and modern. The server was utterly delightful and super helpful. Now let's talk food - the Parmesan twists were the star of the show for me. Amazingly flakey puff pastry seasoned with Parmesan, garlic and Italian seasonings. A lighter, more seasoned version of any bread stick I've ever had. I could eat them everyday. The cheese plate offered an assortment with cheese paired with fig jam, honeycomb and rosemary. The burrata was outstanding. Paired with fresh tomatoes and bread. Drizzled with the balsamic, it was the best pairing of the night. Last but not the least was the Brie cheese crostini's with grilled grapes. The flavor was out of this world and unlike anything I've had anywhere else. To drink, I ordered the raspberry lemon spritz. It's the perfect summer drink and super pretty at that. Amazing spot in downtown! I walked past here while looking for a place to have dinner and couldn't resist stopping in first. I left with a cheesecake brownie truffle and a chocolate thin. I saved them for after dinner, but they were both delicious. I actually returned the next day to get another cheesecake brownie truffle but they didnt have it then! :( I ended up getting a couple other specialty truffles (champagne, etc) and a biscotti sampler - perfect portion for a small, sweet snack. Staff was very friendly both times. And this place itself is just a gem - there's a super cozy downstairs area that serves wine and charcuterie, lots of great nooks for hanging out, reading, catching up with friends etc. I will definitely come here again next time I am in Boone! read more

Saw on Yelp and decided to check it out. You enter upstairs to a chocolate counter and coffee bar. No greeting and hard to tell what they actually served. We wandered downstairs where they apparently serve wine and whisky only, along with some small plates. No greeting there either and overall was very awkward to be seated. Ordered the flourless torte which was excellent, the bon bons were decent and the irish coffee was, well, Irish coffee. Ambiance was dark and rather sterile, not comfortable downstairs. Upstairs was a lot of white. Didn't really feel this place, I think it could be a lot better in terms of service and overall vibe... and why not serve espresso martinis?? read more

Wow. What a great spot for a date night, meetup, chill night, meeting, work party. You name it. This place would be a great spot to come to for most ideas you can think of. It has 2 cozy, clean stories with plenty of cozy pockets to unwind and relax with a glass of wine, craft chocolate, coffee, tea, etc. There's so many possibilities and I wish I lived closer and had a babysitter here when we discovered this spot because it would be a perfect date night spot. Anyway- it's a must check out spot when visiting the town of Boone. We got the box of chocolates to sample most of their amazing options and even a bar to go as a gift/ Great selection from cava wine chocolate to port wine chocolate, chamomile chocolate, mint, dark, milk, raspberry, passion fruit, coconut rum... the list goes on! Stopped in for a girls night out and had the best time! The house wines are fantastic and we tried both the chocolate board and crème brûlée. The chocolate board was delicious and had a good variety of options. All were fantastic! The only disappointment was that there was a cup of melted chocolate but hardly anything that wasn't already chocolate to dip in it. I would have loved a small shortbread, pretzels, or fruit to round it out. My group enjoyed the crème brûlée as well. I will definitely be back! What a little gem! I was in town for my boyfriend birthday weekend and we stumbled across this place because I saw alcohol and chocolates and I was sold. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into and I'm sooo glad I convinced him to come in and do this experience. The chocolates were sooo good and they had a huge list of wines, bourbon, whiskeys and scotch. The ambiance was very nice and being in a college town this was very elevated. I was worried when we planned for Boone to stay that we were gonna be swarmed by a bunch of students. My only gripe (the smallest of gripes) is that they only do pours. No cocktails or mixes. Also for the pours, if you wanted to do it on the rocks, they only had chip ice. I get how they don't want to be a cocktail bar, but seriously, get some bitters, sugar and even vermouth, you can make a variety of classic bourbon drinks and it'll still have the same high class. But, if you're unable to do that, investing in an ice maker with large cubes will do wonders. Nobody wants to have a nice scotch be watered down by cheap chip ice. Super rich, perfect level of sweetness, lovely mouthfeel, and just the right amount. It comes in an espresso cup that lets you enjoy several sips that satisfy and don't leave you feeling full. This is worth the trip alone. Separately, service was great - the person at the counter was courteous and welcoming. Ambiance is also very nice. Such a cute new store located right on King Street. The place is two stories with lots of room to sit, do work or chat with friends. You can also watch them make the chocolate on the bottom floor! The service there was great and all the people we met were super friendly. We tried two of their house-made bon-bons, the London Fog and Passion Fruit. I really liked both but my favorite was the London Fog. We also ordered their coffee. I wasn't a huge fan of the Gingerbread Latte since the ginger taste was a bit too strong for my preference, but I am definitely thinking of going back to try something different. read more

Took over 45 minutes for a cheese platter and chocolates assorted on a plate and was tough getting someone to come take a drink order. Would recommend for someone to at least check out. My previous review got removed for suspicious reasons, claiming, "not enough detail". Well here is some more detail since apparently last time wasn't enough. While I was visiting Boone NC, I visited Venture Chocolate and wine. Whilst the place has great service, food, and chocolate, I was disappointed and just shocked when I learned that the owner is not distributing the tips received to the employees at the end of each night. I asked the employee serving me wether they would prefer a cash tip or to add the tip on my card, and they said cash because they "don't get all the tips they earn each night". What?! Having worked in the industry for many years, I felt extremely sympathetic to the college students working there. I was told that many employees had previously left the business largely due to the tipping situation. I was extremely disappointed since their chocolate and other products were great, but I cannot recommend somewhere that isn't being fair to their employees. read more
