I visited this cafe (Betlemsky Obvod) on July 31 for lunch. The food and location were good, but the service really let the experience down. My mom and I ordered bottled sparkling water and were surprised when it was served warm (not just room temperature but actually warm). When we asked if we could get cold water instead, we were told that they didn't have any cold water available due to the heat. This wasn't mentioned when we ordered. We were offered a small cup of ice, but there wasn't nearly enough to cool the whole bottle. The waiter didn't apologize and came across as quite rude and annoyed with us. She also never offered more ice, even though it was clear the amount we got wasn't enough. I understand that things happen, but a simple apology and a better attitude would have gone a long way. It's a shame because the food was good, but the service made the visit much less enjoyable. read more

The fact that this place seems to have a constant queue has to tell you something. The fact that there are two locations relatively close to each other and still are packed also says a lot. We decided to take a table outside as it was a reasonably warm morning. We had just tap water and I ordered the scrambled eggs with a hot dog bun and salad. The lovely K had the Turkish eggs and toast with lovely fresh dill on top. Both were excellent and a fair sized portion. The poached eggs and the scrambled eggs were spot on. My salad was also excellent with a dressing I'd like to replicate at home. The service was prompt, and friendly, and the food came out quick in spite of how busy they were. I can't say much about the ambiance as we were outside, but the chairs were comfortable and blankets were also available if you felt the need to bundle up. We would most certainly return! read more

A chef recommended The Venue to my son so we decided to give it a try. This was the first place in where we were asked if we had reservations. Despite not reserving a table they fit us in. The enthusiastic sever recommended the banana pancakes so that's what I selected. They were a tad sweet but that's just my preference. I finished off the very filling dish. Edit: Food 5/5, scammed a tip from us 1/5, the scammer wasn't even our regular server but a separate credit card guy that judges his marks when processing the charges. Fantastic midtier modern European menu, good brunch option for those staying in the area. Really wanted something a little lighter after a week of meat and bread for all dishes lol. Mix of tourists and locals in a hip/noisy club ambience. Juices are yummy, and I loved the sweet potato hash (with add on fried chicken). -- Forced a tip on us: while paying the bill, server pulled a fast one and applied a 10% tip to the bill - we're obvious tourists so I get it but it was annoying to be preyed on where locals around us clearly were not asked nor expected to pay it. Our local friend says tips are not the norm and when it happens it's just rounded up for great service. They can make money with their quality food why scam us as well? What a great spot! It is trendy for sure but the options are the menu were delicous. They also had fresh juices which were yummy. I don't have the name of my sandwich but it was AMAZING. I will warn you that each time I walked by there was a long line out the door, regardless of time (and they don't take reservations), but it's well worth it. Coming to Venue on our first morning, we lucked into the last open table. Choosing the baked egg dish with avocado we were surprised with being served an entire avocado - EACH. It was perfectly ripe and spreadable & actually hit the spot with their lovely crusty bread and eggs Also ordered flat whites. This place has amazing food! You can choose from various healthy options and the menu is mostly in english. The staff was really nice and helpful, if you had questions. I had the chicken and waffles, my boyfriend had the french toast and we both shared the buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup. The food was delicious and looked really amazing and picture worthy. We also both had Iced chocolate as a drink and you could choose almond milk as an option, which was really nice. As a late brunch spot it is perfect, we went there at 1 p.m and the coffee place was empty, so our food arrived really fast, I bet it is more crowded in the morning. We stopped for a mid afternoon drink after meandering through Prague. She had the prosecco, I had an ale (in Prague they have extensive drink menus but when it comes to beer it's a dialogue). It's a hole in the wall and we love those. Three tables outside, a window counter with 4-5 seats and a few scattered tables inside. Super friendly staff, and the owner is this great lady from Colombia who upon learning I'm Italian, started speaking Italian to me, which is great. Comes with a fresh salad that I enjoyed, but the gluten free toast isn't chewy and you might not enjoy the bread texture as much unless you're gluten free; I personally found it fine, but may be a hit or miss for others. Best brunch spot in Prague, hands down. Friendly service, lots of options for people with restricted diets and the food is super delicious. We came here for breakfast twice; the first time I had the fluffy omelette and it's simple, but delicious. The second time I ordered the sweet potato hash; the chorizo dust was AWESOME. The service here is really fantastic and the atmosphere is really great. While the location is along the street where there's all those tourist trap stalls, it's fun to have a nice meal, in a well-designed space with a nice breeze floating in while you people watch. honestly one of the best places to get brunch in Prague, and it's quite near to our hotel so walking there was a breeze, while it wasn't hidden away in some back alleys or anything. The cappuccino was quite average, not *stellar*, but the way the coffee was set up was very cute. They had put liquid sugar in a corkscrew glass sort of thing, and i couldn't help but take a few pictures here and there. Other than the visual aspect (because i seem to be obsessed with the liquid sugar), the food was healthy, hearty, and wasn't very expensive as most *hipster* cafes/restaurants are now. I had ordered the power bowl, and didn't expect it to arrive hot (as it was just granola), which made it even more delightful since we were out in the cold for quite a while.
