I've been coming to Venus since high school, and unfortunately this will be my last visit. Holly did my nails today, and while I think they turned out beautifully, the experience itself was extremely upsetting. I came in looking forward to getting my nails done after a difficult week and instead left feeling uncomfortable and upset. From the get go, Holly was rushed, dismissive, argumentative and just plain rude. I requested very short almond-shaped nails, which I've worn for years, but she repeatedly complained via little comments throughout the appointment that they were too short. In addition to this, she criticized the color I chose, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. At multiple points, I felt like I was being talked badly about to my face rather than treated with basic respect as a customer. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've had lovely experiences at Venus for years. The nails themselves look so good, but a beautiful set of nails doesn't make up for being treated unkindly. After so long as a customer, I expect basic courtesy at the very least, and unfortunately today's appointment fell far below that standard. read more

Came in by accident thinking this was a different salon. Prices weren't crazy, so I stayed, but the experience was off. The owner made me pay upfront using the excuse that she was about to leave, even though everyone else paid after their service. I would've honestly rather been denied service than singled out like that. I did come in late (around 6:30, they close at 7), but if that was an issue, just say no. Don't make assumptions about me as a customer. There was one other Black woman there, and again, no one else was asked to pay beforehand but me. They were kind to my baby, which I appreciate, but I really wanted my toes done so I stayed. If you're going to take my money upfront, I expect the work to reflect that. It took about 30 minutes, and the owner was still there at closing I was literally the last one finished, so the excuse didn't even make sense. Overall, I wouldn't come back. If you look "different" (tattoos, vibe, whatever), I wouldn't recommend this place. When I walk into an establishment ready to pay, I expect professionalism not assumptions. read more

Today, my provider was male, he did the basics, rushing through the process. No attention to detail or making me feel relaxed. For a $45 treatment, I felt like I received $20 worth. My friend, getting the same package (mani/pedi) was still there getting her treatment and she started 10 min before I did. I have been going to Venus nails for about 2 years. When I first starting going, I was so happy with the service and no matter who did my nails did a great job. The last few months I have not gotten good service at all! There is a lady named Tracy that was very rude to me and she was snippy with me several times. When she finished, she got up and didn't even say thank you and left me there without helping me put my shoes back on. The technician that did my nails, came by and I asked him if she was coming back and he just helped me with my flip flops and thanked me. The next time I had her, she did my nails and she talked to the other lady that was doing my pedicure the whole time and she was mad about something and kept pointing to her book! I have been coming to this place for over 15 years starting when they were the location across the street. It has made me so sad that the customer service and quality of service has gone down so much in the past year and a half. Very sadly, I will not be coming back to this location. In the past year and a half I have had a mix of rude nail techs and several who just don't know what they are doing. I should have stopped a month ago when I was cut several times and the technician who was doing my nail fill glued down a nail that had popped instead of replacing it. This last time the technician named Tiffany was so rude to me and would not do my nails how I wanted them done. Apparently ombré was out of her skill set and I feel like all nail techs should be able to do this. She also accuse me of trying to not pay when their Apple tap was not working, so I had to run out to my car to get my credit card. I even offered for her to hold my phone while I just ran outside to grab my wallet and she told me I had to wait for the manager because I was trying to leave without paying which I absolutely would never do. It's absolutely heartbreaking to me that I have been coming to the salon every two weeks for over 15 years and now I am so disgusted with how I was treated that I cannot go back. Hopefully I can find a new place that I like because I will not be spending my money at this place anymore. read more

I enjoy coming here! I used to have so much anxiety getting my nails done because other places would always burn my nail with the drill to remove old dip, but I've never had that issue here! I always get dip nails with a cuticle trim (my cuticles grow so crazy) and am so relaxed I almost fall asleep in the chair. Have also gotten a couple pedicures and enjoyed those as well! I love that they finish my manicure with cuticle oil, lotion/hand massage, and a hot towel to wipe off any excess oil/nail dust. I think that sets them apart from other places I've visited!! ***BEWARE*** My first time to this place and my last!!!!! I went in and filled out the sheet marking acrylic french/America $45 with tips NO gel anything and 1 add-on cuticle trim $7 total $52 I sat down the tech asked if I wanted gel I said no I want what I marked on the paper. She proceeded to soak my hands which I did not ask for, pushed my cuticles back which I did not ask for. I just thought it was part of the process I had no clue. I walked out of there owing $71 for nails not including a tip for the tech. The tech did a good job but she deceived me took advantage of the fact it was my first time in. Shame on her. Kelley did an amazing acrylic set on my nails this time! I've been coming for a while to try out different technicians and I've fallen in love with Kelley! She was very sweet but was amazing at shaping! I typically get long almond nails but wanted a shorter pink and white set and she nailed it. The nails have the perfect curve and the white is exactly how I asked her to do it. They're not too bulky and fit my natural nail very well! She took her time fitting the tips to my fingers and this is the first time I've ever felt like they weren't too small of a tip for my nail bed. Melanie did my pedi and she was so rude the entire time. She cut me in multiple spots while cleaning my cuticles. I would flinch from the pain and she kept saying "sorry honey I gotta get everything" as if I'd never had a good, pain free pedi before and this was just part of the process. She didn't scrub the bottom of my feet and she kept pointing for me to move my feet around as if she was disgusted with my feet and didn't want to touch them. Ma'am you need to learn some good customer service skills. She also had me pay way before she even started exfoliating my legs and had I known how mean, rude and terrible at her job she was going to be I wouldn't have tipped her a 20% tip. Tips are based on the service given and she sure as hell didn't deserve what I tipped. I usually see Kim or Amy and they are wonderful unfortunately Amy was busy and Kim was not there. This salon is pricey, they charged me $5 extra for tips, $5 extra for coffin shape, $15 for 4 marble designs. Came out to be $60 (not including tip yet) for a set of nails which I find to be quite pricey but you get what you pay for I suppose. They also offer 2 free drinks; I got a sangria and a water. Sangria was not bad for it being free. I would come back but the salon is about 20-25 min away from where I live. Atmosphere: really big store and seems to be high volume. It was busy when I went on a Sunday and there were a ton of workers Service: pretty good, I appreciated that she spoke English. I have been coming to this mail salon since before they changed the name from Venetian Nail Spa. I'm so disappointed in my last Pedicure and Manicure. My dipped nails started breaking with-in a week. I went back yesterday to have 2 nails fixed. Today my thumb feels like I have an ingrown nail. So painful. Then today another nail broke off.
