Both of the hairstylists working on Saturday were incredibly warm and friendly. I told Melanie what I was looking for and she did an incredible job. I have long hair and hairstylists tend to cut off too much, but not Melanie. I had the best experience and have the best haircut and color that I have had in YEARS! This was one of the most disrespectful and unprofessional experiences I have ever had at a nail salon. I came in for a simple overlay with no polish and was quoted 40 dollars. Then it suddenly jumped to 50. When I mentioned I didn't like how one part looked and asked for a small adjustment, they said it would now be 75. I chose not to move forward and offered to pay for what had been done and leave. They locked the doors and refused to let me leave. I calmly asked, If I pay instead of soaking it off, how much is it? They told me I could not leave unless I soaked my nails off. This happened before the police even arrived. They were fully trying to force me to sit there and waste more of my time after disrespecting me. Once the police got there and I asked the same question again -- then they switched up and said I could just pay 30 dollars. But by that time, the damage was already done. The stress. The embarrassment. The humiliation. Let me be clear -- they called the police on me and threatened to sue me, even though I offered to pay. They made a huge scene and tried to make it seem like I didn't have the money. Another woman ended up giving me the 30 dollars just so I could leave. And yes, the man looked visibly upset that someone helped me because they wanted control -- not resolution. This was never about the money. It was about how they treated me. Talking to me like I was beneath them. Insisting on controlling the outcome even though I was calm and respectful at first. The security guard even said I did not have to pay -- and they still caused a scene. Attached is a photo of the nails they refused to let me leave with. [Insert photo here] To the salon -- This was not customer service. This was emotional manipulation and intimidation. To everyone else -- Please do not give your money to businesses that do not respect you. Speak up. Say something. And never let anyone try to control you over services they barely provided.
