So I've had Verdi Distillery's amazing whiskey a few times, but hadn't actually gone to their awesome establishment until recently. For starters, you walk into a very intimate distillery and tasting room, thinking that it's super small and quaint (which it totally is), but then you walk through some more and realize that they have a few other rooms and then a whole outdoor area that you had no idea existed! We came on a cold November day for my husband's birthday, and had the absolute best time drinking, playing games and chatting with the lovely ladies there! The Offkilter is the smoothest, peanut buttery whiskey you will ever have! We also thoroughly enjoyed the season apple cinnamon whiskey (so much that we bought a bottle). They have seasonal drinks, and take so much pride in what they do (which they absolutely should)! I cannot wait to come back when it warms up to enjoy the vast array of outdoor fun they have!

Not sure if it's a tradition in Verdi but I'd love to sign that board! (all bags in)

The spirits are phenomenal, creative and unique, we didn't taste one we didn't like! The atmosphere, vibe and local feel take it to the next level! We sat with Sky for a few hours, sharing our stories, laughter and friendship. It's like that there, you walk in and are immediately friends with everyone you meet! We started with a tasting of everything before having a delicious cocktail. I can't say which one was a favorite because they all have a place at the table. The Absinthe definitely struck my fancy though, the flavor is like no other! We took a nice little tour of the place and boy oh boy is that backyard area inviting! I wish we lived near Verdi, we'd be hanging out back there very regularly!! It's spacious, fun and inviting with tons of seating and a nice bar area. I highly recommend taking plenty of time to enjoy Verdi Local Distillery is you're in the area and hope you love it as much as we do!

This local distillery is small but impressive! So cute inside and has some of the best peanut butter whiskey I've ever tasted. Also loved the apple cinnamon. Very smooth and high quality. Could use these in so many different cocktails but they're also great as shots. Service was so friendly-can't wait to return!

I just have to post again about this great place. They consistently make amazing drinks with locally made whiskey on site. You can't go wrong if you want a very nice drink! The owner and bartenders are so awesome. I also can't say enough about the great outdoor patio durning the warmer days. Great vibe here!

If you're looking for a fun outdoor hang with live music, this is the place to go! Everything is distilled on site and the bartender was nice enough to let us sample their large variety of whiskies. You can purchase a bottle and enjoy these delicious cocktails at home!

Chili Fest!

Great place for whiskey and ambience! Went to the distillery to add my chili recipe to the chili festival. Had a great time, met some wonderful people and creative new whiskey drinks! Personally love the mix of coffee whiskey and peanut butter whiskey, but the bar tenders will make you something fantastic.

The best place to visit in Reno! The staff are super friendly, attentive but also laid back. Whiskey mixed drinks are so good! I love the atmosphere, the outside set up feels like I'm at home enjoying time with friends. Highly recommended.

If you've ever been hesitant about taking the trek out to Verdi to check out Verdi Local Distillery, don't be - it's a quick drive from Reno and you'll be glad you went. We were warmly welcomed by Distillery Manager Sky and co-owner Jeremy and given a tour of the rustic and charming property, including the make out room and backyard patio, complete with a music stage and a beautiful view of the mountains. We tasted several of their spirits, including the Apple Cinnamon Whiskey, Offkiltur Peanut Butter Whiskey, and Black Licorice Whiskey - all stellar. We also enjoyed sipping on a Bloody Mary (made with their Garlic Whiskey and house bloody mix), Verdi Mule (made with the Apple Cinnamon Whiskey and ginger beer), and the weekly special, the Sazerac (made with the Constellation Whiskey and Absinthe) - so delicious! We can't wait to come back with the dogs and catch some live music out in the backyard.

My husband and I visited the distillery on a Saturday afternoon and shared the full tasting flight. I was a little nervous because it was TWELVE shots (hello I'm not in college anymore!) but they were small, and some weren't alcoholic or full proof. I couldn't believe how many different flavors there were! From lemon to coffee, peanut butter to garlic, there's definitely something for everyone in addition to your standard whiskey. I had two favorites--the coffee flavor for one, and the lemon one will be absolutely heavenly on a hot summer day. Definitely go in the order they recommend, as the garlic whiskey closer will destroy your palate! Cool vibe and friendly staff, in addition to the great drinks. Will be back for sure!

I've been meaning to write a review of this place but wanted to wait until I saw them in person. This local business is full of nice, passionate people who know their stuff, make great whiskey (and I'm not even a whiskey drinker) and they participate in many local events. I've seen them at Bacon bourbon and brews and at Winter wonderland at the Atlantis. I finally got the chance to go to their actual facility which is an older, small, cute place with awesome country decor, whiskey barrels galore, and an entire back yard of fire pits, corn hole, an extra bar and a stage where they have live music on occasions. I've gotten to try a lot of their products and have to admit their Bloody Mary mix with their garlic whiskey is amazing!! I also very much love their lemon whiskey as well as their normal straight forward whiskey. They are always switching up their music inside and outside too.

We never have a bad time here, everything about this place rocks. The building is actually a small house with not very much room inside, but this is honestly one of our favorite things about this place. It almost feels like a house party and forces you to talk to the people around you, we always make friends when we come here. On warm days they also have a beautiful backyard that's a little more spacious. We opted for the tasting board which in total is about 5 shots (don't be discouraged by the 12 shot glasses you will receive, they're really only half shots). All the flavored whiskeys are amazing, the peanut butter is my favorite though. The jackalope gin is potentially the smoothest gin I've ever had. It doesn't have that harsh bite that most gin has, making it the perfect sipper gin. If you're ever fortunate enough to pass through Verdi, definitely make sure this is a stop.

More like a billion stars! Just a really fun distillery to imbibe great quality whisky and gin. Delicious shots and cocktails poured by the amazingly friendly and fun staff. Everyone who works here is so kind, welcoming, and warm! They made us feel like family as soon as we walked in. Special shout-out to Jax, who kept us laughing the entire time. Thank you!!!

The Historic Reno Preservation Society sponsored a walking tour of the 4th Street area and beer…read moresampling of craft breweries along the way. The tour covered the area on 4th Street between Evans and Morrill Streets. We met at the corner of Morrill and 4th Streets, immediately east of the wells overpass. This area has a very distinct and colorful history that I was not aware of. 4th Street went from being a dirt road to becoming a key industrial and commercial road, to a highway. As the road connected east and west cities, it attracted many big businesses that thrived on 4th Street in years gone by. There were even railroad tracks that came right into the area. In that small four block area of 4th Street there were slaughter houses, a commercial brewery and other industries that had attracted the railroad to that area. In fact, the Depot brewery and restaurant, was indeed a train depot and there are remnants of the vault that once was part of the train depot. The door to the vault for some strange reason is in the men's room. My feeling is that it should be on display so all who come in can see it. It is a very impressive piece of history. . We had four staff members from the Reno Historical Society that took us on the walk and explained the businesses that thrived along the 4th Street Corridor and lectured on the architecture of some of the buildings that are still there that are over a hundred fifty years old, the significance of businesses having access to the train, and the evolution and development of 4th Street from a simple dirt road to a major road linking cities east and west until Interstate 80 was built. Along the way we made three stops at 3 craft breweries the first Brewery was the pigeon Head Brewery. the second was the lead Dog Brewery, and the third and final stop was the Depot Restaurant and Brewery. I am a huge fan of the craft beers and each one of the breweries definitely had something to my taste and liking even. it was interesting to go tour the breweries and sample their beers and have an appreciation of the brewmasters' special ingredients and talents as they practice their craft and make us all happy, happy. A very special way to spend part of your Sunday, thanks to the Historic Reno Preservation Society. Check out their website for future tours. Probst!

When my buddy and his wife came into town for his birthday, it felt like the perfect excuse to finally make the trip. Spoiler: it did not disappoint. We arrived just after opening at 2pm and were immediately struck by the building -- it's genuinely beautiful, the kind of space that sets the tone before you've even had a drink. We were greeted by Ryan, who was professional, warm, and clearly passionate about what he does. The tour itself was one of the best I've been on. Ryan packed it with information -- not just about the distillery's process, but about the history of Minden and the Gardnerville area. It was engaging, educational, and genuinely fun. I walked away with stories and facts I'm still repeating to anyone who will listen. Our tasting covered four pours: vodka, single barrel, bourbon, and the Goodnight Bourbon. The regular bourbon lived up to everything that put this distillery on my map in the first place. But the real surprise of the day? The gin. I'll be honest -- I wasn't expecting much. But this gin is unlike anything I've tasted. It has earned a permanent spot in my home bar for those occasional gin martini nights. And if you have any love for espresso martinis, do yourself a favor and pick up a bottle of their coffee liqueur. It's exceptional. After the tasting, our group headed upstairs to the bar -- which, by the way, is open to everyone, no tour required. We ordered an espresso martini, a gin martini, and a meringue-tini. Each one was distinct and impressive in its own right. The bar staff couldn't have been better -- they had a real knack for highlighting each spirit in a way that spoke directly to your taste buds. It was the perfect way to close out the afternoon. Minden Mill is the kind of place that checks every box: great craft spirits, a stunning venue, an informative and entertaining tour, and a bar that keeps the good times going. Highly recommend making the trip. And when you go -- ask for Ryan.
