Let me start off by saying that I have really been happy with Verizon's service (both customer service and operational service). However. I would like to suggest that if you're buying a new cell phone or getting a new cell plan, don't use one of their authorized contractors. My wife and I went to, what we thought was a Verizon OWNED store, to update our phones and plans. My wife's plan was a few months from expiring, but the guy told us to get a third line and then we could cancel it when it came time to renewed my wife's plan. When it came time to cancel the third line, (long story short) we were told that we were were out of luck by the original salesperson and his boss. (After we were told that we were get money back.) We have talked to seemingly everyone, but we are still paying for three lines and there is "no way" to remove the third line from our account. Even when we have told our story to a salesperson at a real Verizon store, we've been told, "What they told you is wrong, but there is nothing we can do to fix the situation." You would think they could just delete the third line... read more

Ben was awesome! He took his time to assist me with my new phone purchase and was extremely patient in helping me get my new phone set up.

Avoid this authorized retailer and go to an actual Verizon store. They added insurance to my plan without even asking me. I noticed the insurance charge on the computer screen and asked them to remove it. They fiddled around for a bit and later I asked again, just to make sure. They said my plan did not have insurance on it. When I got the bill, guess what, my plan had insurance on it! When I visited another Verizon store to add a new line, they actually asked me if I wanted insurance and all it took was a simple "no thanks." As a former retail employee, I understand that there are metrics you have to reach, but this is ridiculous. Adding extra charges to my account without even asking me is already bad, but if I specifically ask you twice to remove it, you better remove it. Imagine the stuff they would try to pull on someone that's more careless, or less familiar with cellphones/technology. read more

A Verizon authorized dealer that has an outstanding customer service ethic throughout. The team is led by manager, Jacques Matthews, truly experienced with a great sense of humor. I walked in to find a team smiling and laughing but was immediately greeted with " how can we help you today?" Between having Jacques and April find what I need and ensure that I would walk away a very satisfied customer. By the end of the transaction, I felt like family, sharing stories and photos and being invited back with the family. I already recommended this store to one other person...she knew about it but there are others who might not. Go out of your way to find this store. This used to be the place to go until the manager decided he would try to start smooth talking his clients. Twice he has done this, the first time I caught on quickly and went somewhere else to get my phone - at a much cheaper price! The second time he flat out lied and when I got my bill I ended up calling Verizon directly. When I tried to talk to him I could not get a word in edgewise. Verizon had no record of the sale transaction I made when I purchased my phone, so they gave me a credit while they research it. I also had to call the bank to dispute the transaction as Verizon had no record of the transaction. Meaning I was being billed twice. This is the same group that is at the Falls Church location off Route 7. I am not sure what happened because I would go out of my way to use these guys. Not anymore. read more

Awful. Misled about costs. Hidden fees- $40 per device? Nonrefundable. That's on top of Verizon's upgrade/activation fee of $30 per device. You pay $70 for the privilege of buying a $700 device. I got a phone and iPad. When I returned the iPad 2 days later, the store couldn't even properly disconnect the line, so I have to pay more for that. Thankfully Verizon offered to waive the activation fee for the devices so I'm out $45 for the set-up fee (which I was not informed of in advance- please, an idiot can set up an iPad) and $ for line access for days used and says charges after the return. read more

I visited this store the day after Thanksgiving to buy a new phone for my daughter. It was a busy day, but the sales person, Solomon, spent quite a bit of time with me. Much of that time was spent researching a new call and data plan for my family. He said it would save me money and he would sign me up. When I got my next bill, I found no change. When I called Verizon, I learned that the change Solomon told me he would make never happened. I called the store and the manager said he would look into it and get back to me. He never did. I called Solomon and he admitted that he never made the change but said he did not lie to me (!). He also said he tried to call me after his manager spoke to him, but I got no call. He tried to appease me with a discount on phone accessories, but why should I go back to this store? Everyone should avoid it if possible. read more

I worked with a very helpful girl named April. She was fantastic...very knowledgable and helpful. Being from Chicago, when my son broke my phone out here in DC I panicked...not knowing where I really was out here. The entire staff was so friendly and it really felt comfortable and fun there. One man, who worked next to April helped entertain my two toddler boys too. I was in this Verizon store August 11th and had the best customer service from Jacques. He spend hours with us and we walked out with lots of Apple goodies--empty pockets, but extremely happy. I rarely post reviews on Yelp, but the experience I just had with Ben Brown was so great that I wanted to share. Ben greeted my warmly as soon as I walked in and asked me how he could help. I explained that my phone had frozen and was unresponsive. Not only did he fix my phone in under a minute, he then offered to help me back up my contacts and photos, showed me how I can back up my calendar to my gmail account, and found out when I am due for a phone upgrade and scheduled himself to call me a week in advance to remind me. I'll definitely be asking for Ben when I go back in a few months! A great customer service experience. read more

Fantastic experience at this store. We decided to shop here after a pretty unpleasant experience at a large electronics store (that I'll leave nameless) across the street. Ben, who I presume is the manager, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the phones my girlfriend and I were interested in. She decided to go with the new iPhone (sheep) and I was stuck between pre-ordering the new Galaxy S6 or the Note 4. Ben knew the answers to all of my questions and helped me make the right choice (Note 4). He even showed me some tips using his own Note 4. When I first moved to Alexandria, VA I had to pay my phone bill. I found this Verizon Wireless store that was perfect from a location perspective since it was right down the street. Soon as I went in I was greeted as normal. However, after I told them I would like to pay my bill they handed me off to another guy. I told the guy I wanted to pay my bill but as I was talking to him he seemed very distracted. Every time I was talking or he asked me something he would look away distracted then had to ask what I had said. Defintely was not impressed. I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for YEARS and have never dealt with this. Funny that this was really my first experience since moving to VA. Unfortunately it was a bad one. I was actually kind of mad to the point where I wanted to go back and say something, because it turns out when I paid my bill they didn't even pay it. They used the wrong number. I love Verizon, but if your going to this one, use precaution. Maybe that guy left, or is fired and its fine now. Or maybe not. read more

The customer service was fantastic today and they helped me seamlessly get everything sorted out and set up with a new phone. I came in skeptical and left smiling....A few weeks ago I came in on a rainy day from hell, and was helped by Ben. I was suspicious at first because it was my first time buying from an authorized retailer as opposed to a corporate store. But Ben was super honest and helpful, giving me advice based on what I had described to him as the faults in my Galaxy....when I got home I realized he had directed me to one of the top rated phones! Ben was super helpful, not at all condescending as some male salespeople have been with me as a woman, and so much fun! By the end of the sale I felt like I was hanging out with my little brother and fellow Sox aficionado! I can't say enough about the staff at this Verizon store, and about Ben in particular! He was knowledgeable, helpful, patient, easy going, and HILARIOUS! He spent tons of time with me adding a line and buying a new phone for my 12-year old son, moving my boyfriend's service from another provider and buying him a new phone, and we got a free tablet to boot (after rebate)! THEN, he spent time with my son the next day teaching him about his new phone, even giving my son his contact information in case he has any questions in the future! The staff seems to work very well together as a team rather than individuals, sharing information and customer service duties. Wanted to switch from Sprint due to connection problems. Narrowed providers to AT&T and Verizon. Visited both stores. With very little difference in monthly cost (about $5 a month over life of contract) Ben Brown, At the Verizon store near Potomac Yards in Alexandria was our deciding factor. He answered our onslaught of questions and even checked maps on-line so we could see an expanded view of where we would likely NOT have service. He was most pleasant each time we came back to talk to him, and never rushed us. Additionally, he never pressured us to select Verizon nor did he pressure us to buy additional accessories from him. I had my phone die on me and received a new one recently. However, I did not have my pics and texts backed up. My other phone wouldn't power on for me to perform the backup. I took it in today and had excellent, professional customer service from Kai. He was able to power it up log enough to not only backup my data and transfer to my new phone, but also wipe the data from my old phone. First off, they are an authorized dealer, not a Verizon store! I should've wrote this review back in December, but life was busy and honestly, I did not want to give them another second of my time. My husband ordered an IPhone 6 32 GB white phone as an anniversary gift. They had it in the store and called me to pick it up (oops! Surprise!!) 48 hrs later, we showed up on jan 1 to retrieve the phone they said was there and lo and behold, they could not find it.. Jim, said it had to be sent back because it was broken, didn't bother to contact me in the meantime before I went down there. I asked why I didn't receive a call, he didn't even look at me and said "I don't know" (while staring at the computer screen) I knew they were lying and had given the phone to someone else. I got up and proceeded to walk out the door. Not even 5 minutes on our way home, my husband gets a call indicating the same phone was in their store if we'd like to pick it up. We were contemplating giving them business, and my husband said he would give them a call in a little while. He gets a call back informing him that they had already sold the phone to someone else. I have never had this type of service, in fact I was ready to switch carriers because of this then found out they are not a Verizon location. Terrible service a waste of time and will never purchase anything from them again. Such a shame as they are close to home and my husband I usually upgrade at the same time. I had a 10:00 am Saturday morning appointment at Best Buy across the street from this Verizon store location. I was there 5 minutes early. There was a mob in line and only one person working in Geek Squad. Needless to say I was not seen for my scheduled appointment until about 10:35. The second Geek Squad associate rolled in about 10:17. (She said, sorry I am running late). I am sure we all know that Saturdays are busy days for everyone! All I needed was a new screen saver for my I-phone because I had dropped it and cracked the screen saver. (I had bought my I-phone at Best Buy and my service is through Verizon). When I finally go to meet with an associate I was told that Best Buy no longer has an authorized Apple representative on site anymore so no one in the Geek Squad department could recommend a good screen saver for my phone. I went with the most expensive one. $44.99. Then Geek Squad told me that I had to pay an additional $8.00 to have them put the screen saver on. There was still a huge line and it was going to take another 30 minutes before someone could help me! Then I remembered that there was a Verizon store right across the street. So I left Best Buy and went to the Verizon Store at 2920 Jefferson Davis Hwy. There was plenty of parking. I walked in. Every sales representative was busy with a customer but I was told that someone would be with me shortly and they were right. In about 2 minutes I was given my own table and chair and representative. His name was Mark. I gave Mark my phone and said I needed a new screen saver. Mark checked my account in the system and then checked my ID to make sure that I was really me. Then I bought the most expensive and best screen saver they had which was $39.99. (Cheaper than Best Buy). Mark took the old screen saver off, gave my phone a good cleaning, checked it over and then put the new screen saver on. Mark DID NOT charge me $8.00 to put the screen saver on my phone. When I was finished, Mark walked me to the door and held the door open for me. (I felt like I was at an old Texaco gas station, where they come out to your car, and check the air in your tires and clean your windshield while pumping your gas)! I don't think I will be spending much time at Best Buy any more.... read more
