Don't be fooled by all the nice propaganda Verizon makes about Fios. I'm paying for it and for days I still don't have any internet despite calling them several times and every time they promised me they would either have a technician call me back or come to my apartment to fix the internet, and their technicians NEVER did. Several days ago Verizon fios cancelled several channels on my package without any notification. I watch only 2 of the removed stations, so I called to complain and try to get the channels I enjoy back. Naturally I had to take a new package at a $11.00 increase. i'm sure this must've happened to many others this so wrong on so many levels. Went in to return the stock router as I wanted to use my own and not be charged the monthly fee. Store is incapable of processing this request without first having you call the phone number (? You're literally the fios store lol) then I get home and find out they decided to just cancel my service entirely instead of just removing the router. Verizon once upon a time use to pride themselves on customer service. As they've grown they've developed a corporate hunger that no longer cares about customer dissatisfaction or customer loyalty. The longer you stay with them it has the reverse effect. Discounts go away and prices go up. I asked the rep on the phone why the lack of concern of customer service and all they could say was they agree but there was still nothing they could do. I'm concerned that in this day and age companies still take advantage of a demand for their service and only offer discounts to get you in the door and then up the prices after you stay loyal to them. read more

I recently had to return 2 fios boxes and this was the nearest location to me. I arrived there at 11am and walked in and was greeted by Kevin, a service rep. Be careful with Verizon Fios. In order to open the account I had to enroll in auto pay where I gave them my debit account card number. Turns out they charged me a late payment of $9.10 because I did not manually pay the bill. According to the agent I chat with online they sent me an email to make payment by a certain date. So now the next bill will be doubled plus the late fee which would automatically be withdrawn from my account in a few weeks. Yet I was supposed to pay the first bill manually then the second payment would be auto pay. Does anyone really buy that argument? It's just another way for Verizon to fleece and scam customers. Be wary of Verizon. It's a company that is obsessed with collecting fees. Believe me if I can go without it I would. a minute ago I would like to tell you a story, let me start out with the fact that this is my first negative review ever, and I try to alway stay positive in life no matter what. This morning I called Ave H Brooklyn Verizon location at (718) 434-0692 and asked if I can pick up my regular equipment for the newly opened account. So I called the store and was affirmed by Antony that I can come and get my equipment, It was a 45 minutes drive from my house, but me and my wife decided to complete the task before Christmas Eve. We arrived at the Ave H location at around 1:00pm, parked our car on a shopping mall parking and from this parking called the store to ask where at the mall they were located. The phone was picked up by a Virizon worker named Michael, when I asked him how can we get to the store to pick up the quepment he answered that we can't pick up the equipment because every store just received an e-mail, commanding to stop to release the equipment, We, my wife and I, were senciraly shocked, and went straight to the store where Michael confirmed to us with mocking half smile that he cannot give me any equipment today and he wasn't the one who advised me to come to the store. Than he asked us to leave the store and to come back on Wednesday. When we left the store we knew something was wrong, so we called Virizon customer service and after talking to them for 45 minutes we found out that the euipment can be picked up today at any location, they called the Ave H store and personally set up the pick up for us. We called the store again and Antony said that Michael was not in today, when I reminded him who we were he said that Michael is at lunch. We came back to the store where Antony released our equipment to us and Michael wasn't there and according to Antony he was gone for a day. When I asked Antony to explain what happened 4 hours ago, he said that he has nothing to say, and that he can not get Michael on the phone. QUESTIONS TO VERIZON THAT ARE GOING TO BE ADDRESSED TO ALL LEVELS OF CORPORATE AND STORE MANAGEMENT. 1. WHY WAS I REFUSED MY EQUPMENT PICK UP BY STORE MANAGER MICHAEL WITHOUT ANY PARTICULAR REASON 2. WHY WAS I ALLOWED TO PICK UP THE EQUIPMENT AT THIS LOCATION AFTER 42 MINUTES CONVERSATION WITH VIRIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE. 3. I'm only giving this a 5 star rating because of the technician Steve Carter. I had to reschedule my appointment twice because the previous techs said they couldn't get to my box and they would come back later. They never did or even bothered to text or call to let me know they weren't coming back. Steve was out installing internet for someone else in our building and I asked him his opinion and he took initiative and called his manager and had our internet setup within that hour. No questions just overcame the obstacle and got it done. Great customer service! I hope Steve is the guy training the rest of the team! I have had the worst experience dealing with Verizon Fios. We have been on the phone for hours and things have done nothing but become worse. I am unduly stressed by dealing with them and will soon be changing service providers. I recommend that anyone reading this should steer clear of using Verizon because of their non existent customer service. The best I can get is an automated system that hung up the phone on me. The Sales Associate came to the door and said look at the time when I showed him my phone and that it was not 6:00pm he just walked away and ignored me. Why the employees thought they needed a raise is beyond me. Worse customer service in the world. The technicians that come to your house and install your services are liars. I waited all day for them to come the technician never came and lied about having no access. Customer service people have an attitude. Stay far away from Verizon they are even worse than optimum and that's saying a lot. Because optimum is bad itself. It's been almost a month and Verizon ha yet to give me my refund back. Every time I call they transfer me from associate to associate but never to the correct person. I guess this is just a way for them to annoy me and not give me my money back. I cannot stress enough how awful Verizon is. I was one of the first in my neighborhood to get FIOS and, to be honest; it worked well for a while. I know it's hard to believe but, customer service was efficient and courteous. Before FIOS, I had DSL. I have been a Verizon customer for a very long time. Currently, I have the bundle service - TV, internet and phone. For the past year and a half, I have had issue after issue after issue. Wi-Fi is unreliable; dropping constantly. TV quality is just as bad -pixilation and picture freeze just to name a couple of the many problems. This past weekend I lost complete service - TV, internet and phone. It's always a nightmare calling support. This time it was beyond horrendous. I was on hold for 1 hour and 19 minutes. Not wanting to lose my place "in line" I used someone's cell to call for ONT reset instructions via automation. Thinking this would fix my problem I hung up. It did not fix my problem. To make a very long and exasperating story short, I was first promised a technician to my house the next day. With her system down, the 1st CSR promised to call me back with the scheduled time. Of course, I never received the call. So, I called again and was told I would have to wait another day for a technician to come to my house even though the 1st CSR promised a technician for that day. And, despite my urgent plea that this was a medical emergency - my mother's heart monitor was unable to communicate with the hospital because the phones were out - they did not care. Eventually, the ONT was replaced and so far service is working. I have asked for credit for lost service from Saturday evening to late Monday afternoon. I was given a credit of $3.50 for 3 days outage which is absolutely ridiculous. Although I am stuck in a contract with Verizon, I am researching other alternatives. I would very strongly urge everyone to stay away from Verizon. read more

I agree with other reviews. Fios is very deceptive about pricing. I was told $30/mo for internet and got an email that says $60. When I tried to get it corrected no one could get me something in writing. In 2 days I was on hold for 25 minutes at a time and then 30 minutes - that time I hung up. Horrible!!!! I leave every call with customer service at my absolute peak of frustration. I was promised a free year of Netflix and gift card for entering into a contract. Never received either, even after spending hours with Verizon customer service and their vendors. I was told a gift card was mailed (which may or may not be true, who knows), but they had no way to confirm/re-mail it. There were surprise setup fees. "Discounts" that I never realized existed "expired" and then my monthly rate went up. This is a terrible company, terrible customer service. agressive salesman gained access to the building and leafleted the doors. lied about the service, stating repeatedly that no physical cable was needed for the package I wanted, which included premium cable, because the WiFi would handle it all. He then demanded personal information beyond anything I've ever encountered in order to sign up, I had to double check to be sure he worked for Verizon. (He came to my door and must have an inkling I exist at my address) when I finally got through after easing hours of time the company apologized and set up an installation date assuring me that the tech would arrive by special arrangement at 3 pm. Of course the tech came 3 hours early and told me he was doing me a favor to do so, he proceeded to install cable in the building behind me for most of a 3-4 hours stay. and yet he couldn't get my service to work! He wouldn't admit I had been lied to about the needed cable until I pressed him about it, and couldn't get the WiFi signal to reach further than 30 feet. He left equipment behind. when I canceled the account Fios apologized again and sent me a box with a shipping label to return the equipment the tech had left. Now: I'm getting calls from anonymous folks at verizon to ask me to pay my "last bill". but no one can explain what this is, and there are no customer service numbers or contacts for these folks. I have two complaints with Verizon. A couple years ago, I moved into my new house and I called for their service. They told me that in order to have Internet service I needed a phone landline. I told the reprehensive that I have no need for the phone, but they stated there was no other way for me to get the internet. This was a lie, because I am with Comcast and I have Internet with out a landline. Afterwards, I had a technician come to the house to install the phone, internet, and cable. The technician had to run cable for everything. Shortly afterwards, I was having issues with my internet connections and cable. I called customer service and they transferred me to their technical support. The technical support person put me on hold for ten minutes, because he had to have a bowel movement. He told me this after he returned and instead of calling me back, he made me sit on the phone and wait for him. Afterwards, he told me that it would cost $100/30 minutes for a technician to come to my house and run new wire. I proceeded to tell him that price was absurd and will not have any technician come into to the house. I also told the technician that Verizon already ran cable, but he persisted to argue with me that no ran cable in my house. After this conversation, I instructed the technician to cancel all services. My second compliant is that I constantly get their advertisements in the mail. Several times a month, I will receive letters of all sizes trying to promote their products. I have called have repeatedly called Verizon and asked them to take me off their mailing/calling list. Every customer support person has said they have put me on this list, but I continue to get mail and phone calls. Verizon does not know how to take no for an answer and I will never use their products. As I can see from the very long list of complaints, there are some major issues with this company. read more
