This is their original location on Frog Hollow…read more ++. Ambiance is an interestingly laid out art gallery with a small event space with an iconic view of Middlebury Falls. +++. Well curated mixed media pieces: paintings, potteries, tiny to big sculptures that appeal to traditional as well as fun eclectic collectors. +. Prices are high, reflect quality object of desire. ++. Service is pleasant. =. Parking is street but tight on Mill St.

If you're a Middlebury College student or a resident of Middlebury town looking for a quick escape,…read moreyou might find yourself here. This place is a free art gallery at the end of Merchant's Row that's open to the public. Here, you can walk in and look around at all the art pieces. I reckon that the gallery doubles as a marketplace for art buyers, as there are price stickers attached to all the pieces. The art here is also quite expensive! (I suppose most fine art is. Makes sense.) There's something soothing about walking around the gallery. Perhaps it's just the small town atmosphere that fills the town. Edgewater is just so easily accessible if you ever find yourself wandering around in "downtown" Middlebury. It serves its purpose well as an art gallery, no complaints. (Though, I recall seeing plastic vegetables mounted on a wooden board being sold for several hundred dollars. Everybody's a critic, including me.) This place serves as a great way for local Vermont artists to get their name and work out there. I hope that when I come back, I'll see some new pieces-- otherwise, these artists likely aren't selling their work!

Awesome General Store!…read more True VT and nicely updated GS. LGS is the heart of Lincoln and it changed hands a couple of years ago. The new owners have done a wonderful job restoring the architecture and updating the store. They scratch make sammies each day and just found that Sandy who used to own the Bobcat pub (Bristol) a few years ago makes burgers on Fridays here :). I used to eat one after my hikes nearby and GTK since Bobcat closed permanently a few weeks ago! LGS has a bit of everything, bevies, caps, groceries, candles, cleaning, fishing supplies etc., and decent gift section too. It's a great stop for the residents, visiting explorers and hikers too as the Long Trail and Mt Abe are close-by. When I visited many residents and kids were coming and going. I saw a young boy putting out ca$h for his candy which was so cute. Sharon behind the counter was friendly and helpful. With many old VT disappearing, I was thrilled to find LGS thriving! Parking is on the side of the store. Enjoy!

The only thing missing is the kitchen sink!

Darling clothes and odds and ends. The service, however, was dismal. The woman working there (not sure if owner?) did not even acknowledge me as I entered the tiny little place. I looked at some items (thinking of buying for myself and nieces). Tried to catch her attention and she, instead ignored me to wait on someone else. I am guessing she believed that middle-aged blonde woman was more her type of customer. When I stated I would move in an effort to give them room, she simply said "GOOD!" That said all I needed to know, if you know what I mean. She did not consider me her type of clientele, I guess. Fortunately, there are plenty of shops in Middlebury and Shelburne and Burlington.

They travel throughout Asia to come back to Vermont and sell artifacts that are just simply exquisite! You can find cool fashion jewelry and very reasonable prices, beautifully handmade clothing, wallets, purses and other kinds of accessories! I purchased a delicious lemongrass scented accent candle for $15. Beat that, Yankee Candle! And, I also came home with a new Buddha statue to keep the apartment serene and peaceful. There's just great stuff here that you should stop in, check it out, or at least say hi to Greg, because he is ONE of the coolest guys you could possibly ever meet!
