I was absolutely blown away by the depth and breadth of this collection. There was a small sampling and representation from most major in my opinion, art periods throughout world history. We're talking Greek pottery, carvings from Africa, an Ancient Egyptian sarcophagus, original work from Andy Warhol, John Waters, and Kehinde Wiley... I was stunned to find such a diverse collection in this compact space. And they've done a really nice job of showcasing and displaying all the art; the museum has a nice flow to it and nothing feels cramped. There's also an incredible rotating contemporary exhibit on the second floor. The museum is housed inside the performing arts center on Middlebury College's campus. It is handicapped accessible. There is a staircase connecting the two floors but an elevator is also available. Excellent bathrooms located outside the museum on the main building space. Seriously like the best wheelchair accessible bathroom I've ever been in. 10/10 would definitely recommend visiting. My only regret is that I only had time to go once and it was when I was attending the Language Schools so I was living that exhausted student life and couldn't engage with the art as fully as I would have liked. If I get the opportunity I will definitely be back!

I had heard about the art museum, and my host was so gracious that he took me to go see it. He himself did not seem like an art person and I did not want to keep him in the space for too long, but I managed to nab an adorable picture with him (three years ago wow). The way the museum is designed, there is a permanent collection exhibit of the first floor displaying European and ancient artworks, whereas the second floor features another permanent exhibit on Asian art, which is behind the seasonally rotating exhibit of the second floor, which I argue is the main attraction to the museum (for me at least). I am foolish so I only really got to see four out of the six possible rotating exhibits during my time at Middlebury, which is honestly still pretty good. Many times, I have been on art museum dates with my close friends to sort of escape from the busy humdrum of studying all the time (who am I kidding though, I never study). I caught an exhibit on 1968 this past spring, a pivotal moment in American history. I missed the Keith Haring collection sadly, but I look forward to catching Islamic art this fall before it too disappears.

The building boasts an…read moreextensive art museum, several performance art studios for theater and dance, and music studios with the latest technology. The walls are somewhat decorated with art pieces of graduated students which makes it seem like Middlebury really cares about the students. I hope so, this school is expensive. The concert halls are huge and lovely. I came to them to watch the annual Cocoon, the Moth Up's only paid show with talented speakers that tell true stories that hit your heart with tears and laughter. I also had singing lessons in here during my MiddView trip (Vocal Music) although I had absolutely no business being in that trip since I had no experience whatsoever with professional singing but I do like singing. The art museum is free admission, just got to put your bag away in a cubby because art theft is a huge issue. The school has enough money to have legit art on campus. I'm impressed. It's so beautiful in there, my lab partner Michelle and I went in to talk about my sad life and pass time while I was doing laundry. I had my art history class and my music composition class in this building, both utilizing the resources in the building. There are couches everywhere also, so if you want a nice quiet place to study, find yourself here. There's also a food store if you get hungry during the day and find yourself missing breakfast at the dining halls because you can't wake up on time.

STUNNING!! This is my FAVORITE man-made find in Vermont eva!…read more +++ LFSP is a private farmland dedicated to outdoor sculptures. Only a self-guided tour of 50+ abstract installations of local, national and one international artists. This is totally an open hay field with spectacular views of working farms, barns, rolling green hills, snake mountain (?) and the Adirondacks. The meadow path is mowed but no permanent walkways nor signs. This place is BIG. The path is about a mile and you pace at your preference. Each piece had a small plaque with the name and the artist so I searched some and learned more about them... internet worked great here:-). When I visited in mid-July, 2021 there were about 1/2 dozen cars and 10 people. There was an abundant space to social distance and to experience each piece personally. But God knows why some people want to be within a foot of your space! Ya, please don't be that person if you visit! It was sunny mid-70s but zero shade so bring a hat, water and a comfortable pair of shoes. Recently it rained a lot and some of the paths were muddy or had standing water. Frank Ittleman, the owner was riding-mowing around the entrance and greeted each visitor. Apparently, they bought the land a decade ago and began the installation 4 years ago. Frank said they will be adding another 1/2 a dozen installations this year. Some of their installations are for sale and some aren't. So this may be more like an outdoor gallery with some temporary exhibits rather than a museum like Glenstone. As far as the name goes, there's NO lemon trees or fairs here. It's likely attributing to the river named Lemon Fair in Addison county. Some of my favorites pieces were David Stromeyer's Red Note, Peter Lundberg's Leap of Faith, Jeffrey Laudenslager's Riples-5 and the whimsical dancers by Jerry Daniel. On my way out, Frank came by in his pick up truck and asked if I enjoyed it. Very personable! I was absolutely stunned at the scale and the breathtaking setting. This is a HUGE plus for the Addison county and Vermont! +++ Free and donations are accepted +++ open daily from May 1 - Nov 1 + Limited free parking ~8 spots LFSP is located about half way on SR74 and easy to miss among barns and fields. This is a working farm for hay and at 50-60MPH it blends in so slow down as you get near it. There was NO sign only a small shoulder that allows about 6-8 cars...depending on how people park. Frank said they are adding a sign this summer so it should be easier to find LFSP then. Enjoy!

The museum had his works laid out well and offered a second-to-none experience in getting to hear Warren talk about his life and works. The museum also features other local artists upstairs in a way that helps the viewer appreciate Vermont's history. There is even a section where kids can explore and play with vintage toys. Thanks for a great experience!

I love my library! It is an adorable old building which was donated and renovated into the present…read morelibrary. The staff are great. The kids section is great too. They have regular programs for the kids ie. movies and popcorn. You can borrow free passes to museums, programs, etc. Last summer I borrowed a pass to the Maritime Museum in Vergennes for the pirate festival.
