The rules change daily. One day and one call you are told one thing. The next is somthing else. This caused me to lose my insurance, after being told by 3 reps that I was all set. Tried again to fix this. Got a rep named "Craig" who litteraly yelled at me and talked over me. Would not help my issues. Called again, did get someone who was very helpful. read more

Horrid hold music, long wait times, an abominable website that makes it almost impossible to navigate and that loops you back to the same options with out progressing to the next step, and finally to top it all off customer service that has little or no training to assist you with the impossible task of enrolling in a plan once you are eligible. read more

Takes forever for anyone to answer when you call. You will be on hold for up to an hour to two hours before maybe getting someone that might be able to help or just put you on hold for even longer. If you even attempt to log in online the website will tell you that they can't confirm your identity, and if you call customer support they will tell you that you don't have enough credit to register online. read more

Vermont Health Connect was originally erected as a monument of populist power - a showpiece performing the same function insurance companies had before it "just because VT can", not unlike Bernie Sanders. However, it quickly evolved to become a full service holistic health provider, endeavoring to improve health through alternative methods while jacking prices through the stratosphere. On initial phone contact, callers are treated to a 30 minute Zen session, while waiting on hold and enjoying soothing muzak. This calms the Chi and allows auras to flow towards blue spectrum. On reaching a representative, the cardio portion of the call begins. Blood pressure and pulse rate are raised by workers who will helpfully pretend to not understand your questions, often before offering up that you need to call the actual plan administrator (dirty capitalist swine) to achieve your goal. The swine insurance companies obviously don't care about their client's health nearly as much as the state does, as evidenced by their lack of Zen holding periods and representatives who simply refuse to pretend they don't know what they're talking about. The VHC cardio experience is also available by website. The tools used there are refusing to let users log in, reset passwords, or access any plan information. For a full service treatment users should start with the website, proceed to the Zen holding period by phone, and finish with a final session of cardio. Best of all, the plan benefits continue long after you've moved out of state! For example, when I moved to NH, canceled my VHC plan, and signed up to get identical coverage for $315 rather than $450 VHC had been charging me, VT cared so much about me that they continued to provide me the same plan benefits! The only downside is that I am still being billed for them - $1100 owed currently, when according to "conventional" (dirty capitalist swine) accounting methods I am actually owed $450. Ironic that the same state that sued Irving for making customers wait more than a week for propane refunds finds nothing wrong with making former customers wait months for theirs, while continuing to bill them for services not rendered, but I suppose when it comes to my health, VT knows best! If I could give 0 stars I would. From the first time I had a VT Health Connect Plan (MVP) I was dicked around. I'd literally have to take a day off work just to call them, the wait times are ridiculous. When I was 8 months pregnant I was told I was booted off my insurance because I didn't call to report I was pregnant (Meanwhile I was going to the hospital twice a week due to a high risk pregnancy and MVP was paying those bills......so they knew I was pregnant.) I gave birth to my son with no insurance after having met my deductible $7,500 and $12,000 out of pocket max. So my insurance covered NOTHING, since everything went towards the deductible prior to delivery. Now my youngest is 2 years old, I was informed early November my children would no longer qualify for Dr. Dinosaur due to income changes so I enrolled my children on my husbands insurance plan. I call today because I see I'm getting charged from VT Health Connect to be told my children are still enrolled..........WHAT.? I'm a lucky customer of VT Health Connect who has NO INSURANCE WHEN I NEED IT and too much when I don't need it! Honestly having no insurance and just directly dealing with the hosital was easier than dealing with than using that craphole company who just gives you high blood pressure and migraines. read more

The absolute worst. I've had private insurance prior the marketplace, California's marketplace plan and now VT Health Connect. It's honestly terrible. It takes many many calls (and over 3 months of time) to resolve issues. Each call means at LEAST a 30 minute wait and up to a 90 minute wait (and this is on non-peak days of the month!). Not only have employees not been able to resolve issues, they cannot give any timeframe or idea of when they will be resolved. I wish we'd partner with a larger state (MA? NY?) because Vermont clearly doesn't have the resources to effectively run this on their own. read more

Wow. Nearly 3 years since the last review (1 star) and 3.5 years since the only other review (also 1 star), I feel awkward about leaving yet another 1 star review, because truthfully, I wish there were an option to leave a 0 star review. Perhaps that would express their lack of quality service much more accurately. Today is Tuesday morning 9:56 am. Not an extraordinarily busy time (so I thought) for calling to get a billing issue corrected. Each month since I started the insurance in September 2018, there has been a billing issue though each of my payments are the same and paid ahead of time. As of the time I write this message, I remain on hold for 1 hour and 11 minute on my business line in hopes of reaching a phone clerk that I was promised could help me 1 hour and 8 minutes ago. I also am now on hold on my personal cell phone now at 31 minutes as I called back and spoke to another random phone clerk who gave me the same promise (and yes, in case you are wondering, after having to repeat my story completely over again). I opted out and requested to instead be directly transferred to the "call survey" he optioned for me at the start of my call. I rationed, at least I could invest my time on-hold with line # 1 by expressing my concerns via their automated survey system. Unfortunately, that system has yet to pickup either. Conclusion and Summary: Government run health care is proven to be a complete failure. It is not efficient and, with as many mistakes they make, is certainly not a cost effective option to so-called 'affordable healthcare'. Strongly considering switching to a non-government run health care plan really soon. read more
