Located on the second floor of an imposing Greek revival building, The Current museum is located at…read morethe Helen Day Memorial Library and Art Center on Pond Street in Stowe village. The Current hosts exhibitions of contemporary art produced by well-known nationally and internationally recognized artists and local Vermont artists -- including elementary school children -- and various events showcasing the art and the artists. On our recent visit to The Current, we happened to visit in between signature exhibitions and the museum was displaying works proudly produced by children from local elementary and middle schools in its three galleries. The quality of the artwork fell somewhat short of our expectations -- given the professional artists' work prominently featured on the museum's website -- but my art viewing companion and I still enjoyed viewing this exhibit and supporting the community. We will return to The Current visit next time we are in Stowe. Admission to The Current is free, although donations are welcome. Pro Tip: The Current also offers reasonably priced art classes for children and adults. Check the website for more information.

The training that dancers receive is top rate - when the older students apply for competitive summer intensives (it's not all uncommon for dancers to attend the School of American Ballet or Pacific Northwest Ballet) or go on to professional careers they are very well prepared. The technique and artistry that they are taught is at a very high level. Younger dancers are carefully guided and have a lot of fun. In response to someone who years ago wrote that her child with a disability wasn't welcome, I am sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what happened there as there have been students with disabilities including Down Syndrome who have been very much included at the school. For some reason a couple of review have been "not recommended" - I am not sure why as they are positive, thoughtful reviews.

Not only do they help you develop your understanding of the weather, proper aeronautical decision making, and flight planning, but they spend the time with you to answer questions thoroughly. When I was looking at options to pursue aviation I looked at various programs around New England and I couldn't be happier that I chose VFA. Their planes are great and Burlington is a beautiful place to learn to fly. Going there is one of the highlights of my week.

Andrea Altman, who has many years teaching at college level, is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about anatomy, pathology, and bodywork, and she has created a beautifully well-rounded and comprehensive program at GMMS. After graduating the program in 2015, I felt very well-prepared to begin a career as a massage therapist and have been able to build a successful private practice. The schedule of the program is also incredibly convenient. I continued to work full-time throughout the year-long program and loved the opportunity to drive out to the beautiful class campus from Burlington for hands-on classes and to be able to complete much of the academic work online. The specialized therapists Andrea brought in to introduce us to different modalities of bodywork were also exceptional and inspiring. Overall, I can't recommend Green Mountain Massage School enough. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
