Vernazza is beyond beautiful and charming. The Cinque Terre area is a must when in Italy. One of the places to see in your life.
The coastal drive is quite the adventure if you have your own four wheels. The Amalfi Coastal Road is easy compared to this. But it's well worth the drive. Great views. You will have to park your car outside of town. There's a free shuttle bringing you down to the village.
If you do the Cinque Terre by train, then there's good news. The train station is right at the center of town.
This village here offers a lot. Countless shops and restaurants. Colourful buildings everywhere and a really nice piazza and small port at the end of town. Buildings and churches with character and good food (from Anchovies to Gelato). It's fun to just wander around the village. Besides Manarola (on par) the nicest of the five towns of Cinque Terre. Loved it. read more
