When it comes to buying a house the experience, ease, and success depend largely on your real estate agent. My wife and I looked for months at the housing market, watching prices fluctuate, houses we liked come and go. We would pull over for virtually every open house sign we saw, even if the house was out of our price range, so we could set realistic expectations of what our money could buy. During the course of this time we met with several real estate agents. We eventually landed with one we thought was a good fit. We put bids down on dozens of houses and none of them stuck. Unfortunately not all real estate agents are equal. This particular agent didn't devote much time to bring us any houses and was very poor at following up with the seller's after we had submitted offers. This was discouraging as many nice houses fell through. At this point we decided it was best to just start looking on our own. This was when we first met Veronica. My wife found a nice little house on an excellent lot in a community we had visited before and Veronica was the listing agent. This gave us a really good sense of her abilities. One of the most important points of selling a house is the ability to stage the house to highlight all its greatest features. This particular house had a finished garage that was enclosed and used by the previous owner as a movie room. Veronica had fresh popcorn popped and ready for the showing. This small feature was a great selling point, she even had a family friendly movie showing so that people visiting could really get a great feel for the space. The house was only on the market for a few days and this was the first weekend showing, my wife and I spoke with Veronica for an extended period of time during the showing and felt very comfortable with her honesty and knowledge of the real estate market. Later that day we submitted our offer through Veronica, this proved to be one of the wisest decisions we made through the course of our home buying adventure. Veronica helped us get into our first home at the expense of a lot of her own time. She helped us secure a very good price on the house and helped us with many issues with the sellers. For example there were a few things we liked in the house and she was able to negotiate to get the seller to put them into the sale. Also, we had a few bumps in the road with our lending agent, but Veronica kept on top of that the entire time. This made the home buying process a very pleasant experience. With our previous agent I had to call them every day to get updates. Sometimes that agent would take days to respond to me, but not with Veronica! The lack of communication from our previous agent was a constant source of stress, but Veronica gave us updates on everything! We never had to worry about hearing from her, she gave us updates daily! This may come as a surprise to many home buyers, but some agents will split their time up based on the numerical value of the sale, for example someone spending more money may get more attention than someone spending less. This was not the case with Veronica, the entire time we felt she was giving us her undivided attention. As a buyer's agent Veronica was top notch. We had a great experience and will use her again in the future. But let me mention how great of a selling agent she is as well. Within a week of moving into our new home a neighbor came and asked about the listing agent. She noticed the amazing amount of traffic generated. This neighbor knew the previous owners of our home and the really liked Veronica, and they told her how thrilled they were at the speed at which Veronica was able to sell the house. This neighbor asked us for Veronica's contact information because she wanted to have Veronica sell her house. Veronica went to their house, helped them get things organized to maximize the appeal and sale of their house and within a few weeks the house was listed. When we saw the house was for sale we went to visit the open house. Veronica had done it again.
