My buddy and I stopped for lunch after hiking in Skyline Park. My Reuben was about as perfect as a Reuben can be. The marbled rye bread was toasted perfectly. Just the right amount of juicy meat, sauerkraut and dressing. I order probably 8-10 Reubens a year at different restaurants because they are my favorite, and this is clearly one of the very best in Phoenix. And, I specifically ordered "crispy" fries. Unlike most places where crispy fries come out mushy, these were actually crispy and delicious. Finally, the service was excellent, and this is just a beautiful facility. Giving this place 4 stars more for the view and ambiance cause the food was meh and seemed overpriced. The service was good and our server was very friendly and prompt. The food was nothing special. Just a run of the mill burger and appetizer dip. But if you sit outside during the sunset, you get to see it setting over the golf course, it looks super nice! I know they rent out the back room here for special events as well. I would say this is more tailored for older people who like to eat out on Friday night and order the same thing over and over. I used to LOVE this place. I'm a resident and this was my go to place. Every Friday after work I would come here for lunch and champagne. I also brought all my out of town guests and was proud to bring them here. You cannot beat the view or service. The menu and the food was awesome. They were always in stock of my champagne split but on the rare occasion the alternative champagne was good. When they reopened after the pandemic the menu understandably changed due to availability of products. But the food was still prepared well But as of today I am done paying good money for their food. Last week I ordered the salmon wrap. The salmon was raw in the middle and was DRIPPING in oil. Today I ordered the chicken quesadilla... how can you mess that up. But when served, instead of a nice crispy quesadilla the bottom was soggy and gross. I imagine from adding a chicken mush that probably was straight out of a can with the juices. I sent it back and replaced it with the soft pretzel that came back overcooked and "crispy". The last six time I've been here they were out of the champagne splits. The alternate champagne was disgusting and acidic. I ordered a Pinot Grigio that was equally bad. I even shared this experience with the manager last week and again no champagne. It is so sad to see the demise of what could be an amazing restaurant for the residents. The are very limited options here. I think that considering the class of the clientele, including golfers that pay $175 a round, the Verrado Grill would take more care to provide quality food and drinks. Party of seven. Slow service on a Tuesday evening. It didn't seem very busy but maybe there was just one server for the whole place. She was friendly and accommodating to our varying needs. We started with an order of sweet and spicy wings which everyone said were really good. We also had spinach artichoke dip which was fine. For dinner, two had beef dip sandwich and both said it wasn't very good. The juice to dip into "made the sandwich moist" but didn't have any beef flavor. The sandwich comes with horseradish sauce which one person said they could taste overwhelmingly and the other said he couldn't taste at all. Four of us had the chicken melt sandwich. Mine was missing the cheese and the avacado. The others were not but the overall conclusion was that it was just "ok". All the sandwiches came with fries which were very good. One in our group had meatball sliders from app menu as his meal. It comes with three. He had one, but he enjoyed it enough to bring the other two home. I had the cactus cooler drink which was good. Inside dining area wasn't super special, though our table did overlook the 18th hole with the comfort of inside warmth, which was an amazing view. Overall, I'd consider coming back for drinks and apps on the outdoor patio. Especially the wings and jalepeno poppers which I've had on a previous visit. read more

I was surprised to see so many bad reviews. We meet some friends here last Friday. It was busy. Drinks were just a little slow but not to bad. The view is amazing. Just sit outside listen to the music and drift away with somebody special. I don't know the names of the foods our friends ordered but I have pictures , and we all know a picture speaks a thousand words. Lol. I don't remember if prices were bad or not. Drank to much, and our friend surprised us with paying the bill. Lol. But we look forward to eating here again. I do remember having a martini with the Lemon twist and it was very good. They should have paid us to eat there. All the food was over cooked and over salted. French fried and house chips are so over salted and seasoned that we could not eat them. Fish and Chips was literally burnt and when cut open, the fish was shriveled and hard as a rock from being way overcooked. The manager even was embarrassed that it left the kitchen and was put o. We decided to have our dinner at Verrado Grille kids home for Spring Break. we ordered the spinach dip and the chips were from the bottom of the bag. I told the waitress she responded with" I know I do the same thing". Not sure she was listening to what I said. I ordered the ribeye the most expensive on the menu. my food was cold and my steak was over cooked. My daughter never received her fries with the Mac and cheese. They asked if I wanted some else since eve was done eating dinner. I ordered wings to go. Never received we waited and finally asked for our bill and then they brought it. Askedcwaiteess for ranch and box for my daughters Mac and cheese. we never got either. We left and sad to say we won't be back. We loved that place but something has changed. She spoke about our table within an ear shot of us which included rolling her eyes and checking her watch complaining that we did not close out our tan yet. It ruined the experience. We did not get dessert and left immediately. Unfortunately we won't be returning. This restaurant is really wonderful. We went Sunday afternoon and sat outside. The view was spectacular, peaceful, and relaxing. Chris, our waiter was friendly, respectful, and efficient. Caesar salad was very good. Chicken sandwich was good, even though a bit overcooked. Fries and $7 house wine were delicious. Went again for dinner Monday at 5:30; they were already busy, but we found seats at the bar and we were so glad. Elaina is an amazing bartender. She was friendly, efficient, a hard worker, and made wonderful strong drinks. We shared the Caesar again and the burger. All were very good. The vibe is chill, and relaxing. Most comfortable bar stools with the perfect height foot rungs. Lol. (Very important if sitting at bars a lot ). Will be back often. Oh, and the hostesses were friendly too! read more
