I usually try to avoid places like this. The tourist restaurants that cater to, well. Tourists. The places that place themselves in a strategic location, right on a corner, in the main street, where you cannot miss it. The menu full of photos of the food, so you can point to what you want if you are terrified or unskilled in the native tongue. This. that. THIS. Like a Child's photo book. Well, there are words to the menu and no photos, but the pizza is pretty basic... flies off the shelves in a flurry and suits the needs of the glazed over, travel weary traveller. I LOVE the pizza at VIP. They have a very solid menu of pizza and pasta The pasta is always so well made. Last time I was there, my friend had the Penne Arrabbiata and he was impressed at how spicy it was for being a somewhat trendy fast place. The only nice thing about this place is that it's cheap and you can sit down. The place was packed full of loud teenagers (perhaps because it was Saturday night), and I squeezed in to a single table between two groups who appeared to be quite frustrated with slow or disorganized service. After waiting far too long, and confirming on several occasions that I'd be dining alone (No, I am not waiting for someone to join me...I'd like to order now, please), I ordered pasta carbonara, sparkling water and a glass of house red. The pasta didn't taste like much worth remembering. The drinks were fine, however they were served nearly fifteen minutes after I got my food, and I had to remind the waiter on two occasions to bring them over. My boyfriend and I came here on recommendation from a couple friends. The pizza itself was ok but nothing to write home about. We were seated awkwardly in the corner of the patio, and we literally couldn't leave our table without moving one of the other tables (which people were seated in). Perhaps that's why our waiter forgot about us on multiple occasions. After we ordered our pizza, we waited for a while (30+ minutes) and noticed that everyone around us had received their pizzas despite having clearly ordered after us. Even the party of 8 people which sat down after us all received their pizzas before us. When we asked the waiter, he said "they'll be right out". After receiving the pizza, I asked for some spicy olive oil. After 10 minutes and realizing he forgot about us again, I asked him again. He then took the little cup of olive oil off of the table next to us since they had just finished eating and gave that to me. (It was a little dipping cup, not the bottle of olive oil) Umm what? You seriously can't get a fresh pour of olive oil from the kitchen? I saw the person dipping their bread, etc. already into the cup you just gave me. It is probably the best pizza I ate in the Hague. Not so much for the variety of their offering but for the ingredients and pizza dough that give it somehow a stronger "italian" taste. Prices are quite cheap and you can always find a table to sit at since they have a lot of space. read more

We were sitting outside which was fairly busy so I wouldn't say it was crazy cosy there but possibly a quiter day it would be. Maybe it was because we went there on an Albert Heijn 2 for 1 deal but the service was shocking. It should not take 40 min to deliver some cold starters. Pizza was okay but not great. And a piece of Apple pie which was soggy. Given that you have places like Vapiano which does pretty much the same and has been reliably good I will not be going back. read more

If there is such a thing as diet pizzas this is it !!! The pizza here is made from a special dough that is not filling like regular pizza dough. This is an authentic Italian recipe that will amaze you. The atmosphere is the best casual dining you can find and the staff are accommodating and all multi lingual. Pizzas here are affordable and good for more than one person. When I visited this place, we were 4 females and ordered 2 pizzas and calamari. We were are all so full after we ate. And it was all just under 40euros. We each had drinks as well. Definitely, a must have if you are craving for Italian pizza :) read more

This is a nice Italian place with indoor/outdoor seating just around the corner from the Binnenhof. We ordered the potato croquettes as an appetizer. They took entirely too long to come out - probably about 20 minutes. And then another 10 minutes for our pizzas. The croquettes and the pizzas were very tasty. I ordered the pollo pizza and my husband order the spicy salami pizza. I wish I could rate higher, as the food was great, but the service was not. Besides being slow, the staff was not very friendly. This place was ok food wise, but absolutely ridiculous in terms of the service. First of all, the waiters were very unfriendly and impatient. They have poor English, Which wouldn't have been a problem if they actually took The time to listen to us. Secondly, the waiters came to our table and simply told us the Italian name of the dish and failed to explain what it was. We had quite a number of people and they expected us to understand what they were saying automatically. Third of all, we asked for tap water and they gave us sparkling bottled water. This problem could have been easily solved if they took the unopened bottle of water back, but they claimed they couldn't cancel the order. We had to oblige and opened it, but the absolutely enraging thing is that after a few minutes, someone else at our table asked why the order was not able to be canceled and he said "because I would have to go downstairs." The food was inarguably good, but the service is disgusting. Please come here to have your evening ruined. read more
