I needed a replacement valve stem for a 40-year-old Kohler tub valve. Mike identified the product at a glance, knew it was not in stock, and knew how long it would take to get (2 days). I try to shop at local businesses before going to a box store. I needed an odd pipe. After waiting 20+ minutes, I get up to the front counter with this surly older guy behind the desk, no smile, no eye contact, like he's handing out uniforms in the Army. I explain what I needed, He looks at me, and through the window at my car, back at me, and sternly says, "NOPE, I can't help you!". I thought he was joking, so I said, "I know they make them, I have 1 at my home right now being used.". He then says, "No you don't, there is no plumbing application that does what you're trying to do.". WOW! I walked out. A plumber was outside smoking, he told me, "They don't like home owners here. You need to be dirty, or wearing a plumbers shirt, and driving a pick up for him to take you serious". so this is a place to go if you know exactly what you need it is not some help desk at a large box store, he has some very rare and specialty parts as well as normal stuff. He is extremely knowledgeable but he gets easily annoyed with people who don't know what you want. He expects as he should Pro's and contractors to come in with a parts list and pay then leave. Please don't crap on someones business if you have no idea what your doing, next time call a plumber. read more
