Happy Hour is a good deal with drinks being discounted by a few dollars from normal price. Happy Hour happens every day at Vesper (All day Monday, Tues-Fri 4-6, and Sat/Sun Open-4). When at Vesper you must try the Vesper cocktail. The Vesper is their house cocktail and they have it on the ready as it is on tap. It is potent for sure and has all kinds of alcohol (vodka, gin, and Lillet Blanc) with a nice little lemon twist and some grains. It truly is James Bond's signature drink. I have visited Vesper beforehand and tried their food at that time as well. The pita and hummus still looked and smelled as good as ever. A recent weeknight at Vesper Lounge, and the place still had a decent crowd even as happy hour was winding down. That's usually a good sign. Bars that are only lively Friday and Saturday nights feel different. I grabbed a high-top while waiting for a friend. You know the drill: life catch-up, light gossip, solving relationship problems over snacks. The first surprise was the menu. I was not expecting the Middle Eastern influence, but it was a welcome twist from the usual bar food lineup. Instead of the typical basket of fried regret, I ordered the "bar nuts." Twist: they are chickpeas. And honestly? They were fantastic. Crispy, warm, spiced just enough to give them some attitude. I'm not sure if they were fried or roasted or maybe kissed by a spice merchant from Marrakech; they were addictive. The kind of snack where you casually eat the entire portion and then pretend you were just "trying one more." I'm also a complete fanboy of baba ganoush. If there is garlicky eggplant involved, I'm ordering it. Vesper's version was really damn good. Light smoke, lusciously creamy, very garlicky, and perfect with warm pita. Vesper's version was very well executed. The other surprise was the service. Even with the place fairly busy, the bartender/server was friendly, attentive, and relaxed in that way that makes a place feel welcoming instead of chaotic. My friend eventually arrived and immediately snagged some chickpeas and a healthy scoop of baba ganoush. His reaction was essentially: "Oh... this is good stuff." What I liked most is the overall vibe. Vesper feels casual and comfortable. It's the kind of place where you can meet a friend, talk for hours, snack a little too much, and leave happy. If the snacks are this good, I probably need to go back and actually look at the rest of the menu next time. I had to get the namesake cocktail--the Vesper. Made infamous by James Bond, the cocktail was a mix of London Dry Gin, Skyy Vodka, & Lillet Blanc infused with lemon peel and grains of paradise. Normally $11, this is $8 at HH. After an evening ghost tour, we found this place for some late night eats. I am so glad we found this joint! There is outdoor seating, bar seating, and a dining area. Bathroom was clean - surprising for late night, but it was a weekday so ... The service was a bit slow but super friendly folks! We ordered: Aperol spritz - bright and refreshing! Cheese curds - didn't get it but it wasn't on our bill either and didn't mention it because our pita sandwiches arrived to the table, so no need for the pre-snack Gyro - great flavor! Came here on a recommendation of a friend, it's the old Lancasters I think on Grant st. Seems like a happening place, with seating outside and inside. Got a couple of beers but our food order took awhile. I think the kitchen staff or wait staff are either short or we should've sat closer to the bar side. A lot to like and some not so much. They've kept the feel of the old Lancer's Lounge and it feels like it's 50+ years old. The wait staff is very friendly and it's comfortable dining and drinking. The food is absolutely bar food and is not special at all . The Vesper drink, which was James Bond's Favorite drink and named after his girl friend, Vesper, is the featured alcoholic martini drink. It is a problem. They are not using London gin nor Russian vodka in the drink. They are not using a large glass, serving double shots, and serving it up, but instead, they are filling a small glass with ice with small shots of American made gin and vodka. They are not adding the lemon strip as a finishing touch. It is not only not James Bond's drink, it is totally unrecognizable. They need to bring out the Tanqueray gin and Stoli vodka and follow the recipe and add five dollars more to the price and that would be a drink that would be worth coming to the Vesper Lounge. read more

We were staying at the Warwick and walked the 10 blocks to the Vesper Lounge which has indoor and outdoor seating. Our server, James, was delightful and the bartender made us the Vesper cocktail which is the house specialty. It had both vodka and gin, can be served on the rocks. The sister restaurant,Luca, serves it as a martini. We had a serving of hot wings, spicy, very good. The cocktails look great at this place. We would love to come back. They make their own ginger beer, mixers, etc. it's amazing cocktails in a super casual environment. We didn't want to leave, but we had reservations at Luca, so we continued the party around the corner! We will try to get back to Vesper again soon! read more

Dive bar feel, where I expected we'd get some drinks but not stay for dinner. The food menu is even titled "snacks for drinkers". But by far their best menu item is the warm, soft pita. We got the pita trio (you pick your 3 spreads, my favorite was baba ganoush) and kept the pita party going with the shaved lamb pita. Service was pretty slow, but nice set-up with the fire pit tables under their outdoor tent. Come for the cheap drinks but stay for the pita. read more

We were stopping in for a drink before having dinner at a nearby restaurant. We walked in and there were 2 spots at the bar right by the door and we asked if the seats were taken. Both the bartender and the patron sitting next to the seats hesitated and then said go ahead. Not sure about the hesitation, just seemed odd. We glanced over the drink menu and went with two whiskey cocktails that they have on tap that they pour over ice. They were on happy hour to our surprise when we received the bill. One drink I cannot pronounce and cannot find on their menu online was interesting but a bit harsh. As my husband would say, we would have been there all night if I was drinking it taking a little sip each time. The other was the old fashioned. It was a pretty good old fashioned for being on tap premade. Not bad. I would go back for this drink during happy hour. We didn't eat there but I looked over their happy hour bites and they all sounded good and fairly priced. Other than that the music was good in my opinion. The staff seemed a little standoff ish. Located right by Trader Joe's. This place offers bar food too. I sat on a patio table outside so I didn't see the inside. Their only non alcoholic option besides soda was a homemade grapefruit soda. I honestly hated it. 100% not worth the $5, it just tasted like plain club soda. read more

Great happy hour! Went here for happy hour this weekend and was really impressed!! Happy hour is from Open-6pm from Tuesday-Sunday and all day on Monday's. I love when restaurants do happy hour on the weekend. The snacks and drinks were all really tasty and cheap. We got a few of the dips with pita, french fries, and the draft cocktails. All were delicious! They have a big tent outside with some fireplaces scattered throughout, it still looked really cold out there though. Glad we got a seat inside. Hopefully they are able to get some more heaters for the winter because the tent looked like it would fit a lot of people!
