They have the most amazing and caring staff. From the front desk to the vet techs to veterinarian's.....they all are amazing.

If only we could give zero stars. You as the customer, are nothing more than a revenue source to this company. They do not care about the animals. And they have 0 tact and respect when speaking to the customer. I've never had a bill less than five hundred dollars for just a yearly check up. But we pay it, because we care about our animals. Last time I went. They charged me $1,500. We were only seen for about 45 minutes, my dog had an ear infection. They told me the next time I bring my dog in that I needed to sedate him. Because he's hyper, not aggressive.But because he's hyper. I agreed to do so, but I have never had to give my dog such large set of pills. This required some extra time before bringing my dog into the vet. So on the next visit, i did as they ask, but because I was 12 minutes late. They canceled my appointment and told me to leave, reschedule and come back anything time. Meanwhile, my dog was already going through sedation, getting drowsy and had blood shot red eyes. If you don't see this as a problem, I guess you can go to this place. But for me, this is insane that you would allow a dog to be sedated and then not see him. Because of twelve minutes difference. The only reason I was bringing him in was to verify and see if he had an ear infection. He is a German Shepherd and this is a common issue for this breed. I was looking for some alternative options to help get rid of his ear infection. I was even willing to pay the $1,500 yet again. For their 45 minutes of advice. But clearly they don't care about the animal that is not their priority. They want to turn through clients quickly. And if you are an inconvenience to that, then there's the door. Im sure they would love to charge me for more sedation pills to, and why not just drug your dog twice in 1 day for being hyper.. a dog... anyways.... After I tried to express to them my concern with this poor business experience in the lobby, while seating down,and calmly petting my dog, the older lady at the front desk with white hair decided to stand up and talk over me. Telling me that I needed to be on time. I'm not saying she's wrong. But you don't need to tell a grown man to not be late, When he knows he's late. What you need to do is help figure out how to make this situation better. Knowing that the dog is now sedated and in need of medical attention, just do your job. I delt with late customers my whole life, things come up, problems happen, we cant control every situation. But we can help make it a better one. Anyone from Pueblo knows this bad business practice in are area, putting time and money over clientele situation. You need to learn to respect the client and help them. Despite inconveniences, dont be disrespectful and tell them how to better time manage. You're not there mother and you do not no what's going on in there life. Do your job help the animals. read more

Not happy at all with this vet, for many reasons. They are fairly high priced, they do nothing to get you in in case of emergency or urgent, even during the week, without paying $90, just to be seen, without any treatment. I have never seen the same vet twice here. You never know who your going to get. They do not give me a feeling of compassion, ever. I am elderly and have had some good vets in other places I've lived. I would not put them on that good vet list. I will not be back. read more

Our vet had decided to retire and we were suddenly without vet care after 30 years and were referred to this clinic. We've been her so far twice (once for well-dog checks, shots...etc and then again on an emergency basis). Quite impressed with both vets we've had as well as ALL the ancillary people. So disappointed with this Vet. I've been taking my pets,there since the early eighties. Loved Dr Ottersberg and Dr Bridgeman. They seem to have sold out and now I can't even get my pet in for an emergency. Every time I go in they also try to upsell other services. It's like our local vet clinic went corporate. I will be looking elsewhere for services from now on. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone and this makes me very sad. read more

Hard to rate their service, tried multiple times today to schedule an emergency visit or regular visit for our small male dog. No answer from them or from a message center. My calls time out with no transfer or office pick up. Hope to reach them later to schedule "Rico" for his back leg or back problem. Will give them 3 stars pending a future follow up since I think they have only 1 Vet at this time. read more

When we first moved to Pueblo almost two years ago, this place turned us away with an actively dying dog because we didn't have an appointment. My husband and I had just moved here from Phoenix and had been here for less then 24 hours before our elderly great dane became very ill. That evening, I frantically looked for an emergency vet, but could find none. The first thing the next morning (after a very long, difficult night), we drove to this place as it opened and explained to the girl at the counter that our dog was in the process of dying. She said she was "sorry" but couldn't fit us in. I explained that I was not exaggerating, we were new in town and needed help desperately. I was turned away because "there was nothing she could do" and we didn't have an appointment. For a medical facility, this kind of behavior is beyond reprehensible. Even now, two years later I'm sickened by the thought of how we were treated there. We did find a vet that helped us help our dog and he was dead by noon that day. Please avoid this place, as they care nothing about the animals. Oh, and if you do use them and you have an emergency, make sure you have an appointment, first. p.s. since then, we found Mesa Veterinary Clinic and they are wonderful. They offer emergency care on off hours and if we had only known about them when we first got here, there is no way we would have been turned away. read more

I have been taking my dogs here for years and had a lovely vet who recently left. My dog recently slid on some ice and was limping. I called thinking I could speak to a vet for just a couple of minutes. That was not possible (my vet there before always called me back). Any vet refused to call me back but did say they would prescribe her something. Something she's already on. I very much had suspicions this place is all about taking your money. I have spent thousands there on tests for my dogs, medication, etc. All I wanted was a bit of customer service, 5 minutes of your time before I come in and drop hundreds of dollars again. I will be taking my dogs elsewhere. read more

If I could give a 6-Star rating I would!! As a new resident in the area I called 5 other vets looking for some quick service for my poor dog and was told each time there was no availability or got no answer. So I broadened my search east and came across this office. They answered on the first ring and while they were busy, they immediately asked me what was wrong with my dog and I explained the situation. They expressed concern for my dog and invited me to come down anyway as an emergency visit. Not only did they say come on down they said come right away and while there may be a wait, my dog would be seen. Upon arrival I was greeted with kindness for myself and my dog. Immediately upon learning Luka was the emergency situation they sent a runner tech up to grab him to check to make sure he was stable. Then they showed me to a room, all the while the tech gushed and snuggled with my dog. I'm pretty sure he fell in love with his new vet tech!! I was then shown to a room and waited no more than about 10 minutes before the vet showed up. She too was friendly, concerned and genuine. She gave a thorough exam and suggested a good treatment. What came next surprised me, not at any time did she try to up-sell me expensive tests or procedures. In fact she did the opposite and explained that most tests would be unnecessary. What?? No "you have an old dog and we will need to do blood tests," no "we won't know what's wrong until we do X-rays." In my experience most vets would have pushed at least an additional test or two. Furthermore the vet listened to me. I had some experience with small dogs with neck issues and was fairly certain this was a repeat case. Instead of brushing me off as a know-it-all the vet seemed to appreciate my experience and genuinely listened to me. All said and done my visit was around 30 minutes and the shocking part came at the front desk when I paid my $80 bill. Yes, that's right, $80 (with meds) for an emergency vet visit!! $80!! Not $300 as I've paid in Colorado Springs, not even close. Ergo, the long review. Some may have other experiences but I believe you get out what you put into situation. I needed their help, I was kind and patient, they were able to support me and they genuinely cared for me and my Luka. I will not only be back with Luka as needed but my 6 other rescued furries because they too deserve the best. Thank you so much to everyone in the office, you have a fan in me! read more

I have depended on this office for the care of my pets for 30+ years however, the new ownership/management has made me look for a new vet. If you are willing/able to wait until "a week from", fine. But if your animal is sick RIGHT NOW, be prepared to pay $90 plus just to get into the office. No same day appointments, no matter what. These new people are more interested in $$ than critters. read more

We went to the Pueblo Area Pet Emergency first, and customer service was horrible, I wish I would've read reviews before even considering taking my dog here, the receptionist was rude over the phone and even more so in person, the veterinarian there wouldn't answer my questions let alone let me finish my sentences and wouldn't offer us any other possible solutions but one, which wasn't feasible for us at the time. We placed several phone calls only to be referred (pawned off) to this horrible place. So We looked online and decided First thing in the morning we would come to Veterinary Hospital Associates, as soon as we stepped in the door with hope all but lost the receptionist greeted us and didn't turn us away. Dr. Landry came in and he had empathy and intelligence beyond any veterinarian in Pueblo we have ever come across. He told us the requirements, pricing and everything seemed more then fair in comparison, especially for an emergency surgery on a Saturday with no appointment and first time patients!! He just called to let us know our girl did good and I can't wait to pick her up and say thank you to every person in that building for treating our Izzy like a family member and literally saving her life! Highly recommend this office they just earned 4 new patients, 2 beyond happy customers, great reviews and many referrals. Don't give up hope, there are still amazing veterinarians who understand our fur babies are family to us and friendly staff who will go above and beyond, they are all at this location! read more

I have been very pleased with care at the clinic since it was purchased by the new vets. Everyone there seems to really care about the animals and they have been pleasant and friendly. The Landry's are a good addition to Pueblo. read more
