We had a nice tour of their facility and learned a lot about the wine making process, followed by a nice lunch with wine parings. They do a lot of cool things at this particular winery, unique blends and experimentation with infused liquors, and even balsamic vinegar. It was very interesting to see the process and so hard to imagine having something age for 20+ years! There is a lot of risk in aging something so long, so much possibility for failure. We enjoyed our lunch and pairing in the barrel room. It was chilly, but they provided blankets (and lets be honest, you are drinking and that keeps you warmer) and the ambiance certainly added to the experience. I was not expecting super delicious food becuase it is not their focus, but I was pleasantly surprised that the courses were all delicious. Clearly they are good at what they do, the food paired perfeclty with each wine. The end of the meal was paired with one of their liquors and while I could not drink it straight (too strong for me), it was excellent poured over the desert, as suggested. If you have the chance to visit, I highly recommend doing the lunch pairing, not just a tasting. I would absolutely come back here if I found myself in the Casablance Valley again. Make sure to take some time to look through their shop before you leave. They have some cute things, along with their wines and liquors.

That meant that the 10 of us had the tour and the garden all to ourselves for a wine tasting and picnic that included several of their proprietor's reserve wines. Now this Casablanca winery does not produce spectacular vintages, but their Carmenere, Pinot Noir and Tapihue are all well crafted reds worth well more than their price (averaging the equivalent of around $10/bottle or a bit more for the Tapihue blended red that has been rated highly in competitions). We were given a tour and history of the vineyard and then went inside the building to enjoy some wine and presentations (this was an attorney trip for MCLE credits). The room is beautiful and classy. There is a gift shop inside the wine tasting room, which sells bottles, clothing, and books. The restrooms are located right outside the wine tasting room and the women's bathroom had two (2) stalls. It is a small, narrow restroom. THE WINE: We were offered a variety of wines and I enjoyed them all. THE TIPS: Keep your eye on the weather. It was really cold on our visit! (November 2015)

Food was excellent - started with zucchini chips and onion focaccia. The main courses were the garden salad (organic vegetables from their garden), burrata and prosciutto pizza, pesto fettuccine- delicious Italian fare. Topped it off with a glass of Chardonnay from their vineyard. I wish I would have spent more time in this vineyard and next time I'll try the tour and wine tasting.

Emiliana Organic Vineyard is a gorgeous spot and well worth visiting…read more This was my first visit to a winery, so I can't compare it to any others, but I think I picked an awesome first one to visit! While I didn't go on the wine tasting tour (not with children in tow), my family and I visited the wineshop and peruse the vineyard independently. We had to check in at a guard gate to enter, and wind our way through tons of grapevine fields. Another station guarded the parking lot. After this, we were able to wander as we pleased without supervision or anyone telling us what we should be doing. The property is gorgeous with tons of plants and greenery, a nice breeze and the mountains in view all around us; this made for altogether a quiet and peaceful experience. The openness allowed my children to happily run wild, alongside the chickens and pheasants grazing on the lawns around the wine shop. We watched the Alpacas in their stone-walled keep and even went inside the (also stone-walled) organic garden bursting with vegetables, herbs and fruit trees. The wine shop building itself is stunning in the beauty of its design, both inside and out. Inside on the first floor, wines and other goods are for sale, including a tiny Patagonia-brand clothing/gear section! The windows are surrounded by a ton of tall, striking flowers, and we were able to watch Large Chilean Hummingbirds close-up and in action feasting on these flowers. We purchased our wine and peered at the view from upstairs before heading out to the massive back porch and patio area of tables and chairs. I drank a coffee out here; unfortunately, the separate cafe/restaurant had already closed (we arrived in the mid-late afternoon). The main entrance is literally right off the service road…read more The vinyard itself was beautiful with the main road lined with colors of green trees and purple flowers. Once parked, it's a very short walk to their main building where you can try their different wines and also buy organic honey which is pretty cheap compared to US prices. On the way to the building be sure to see alpacas and other animals that roam the grounds. They're known for having all organic wines. We dropped in right in time for their 3pm tasting with Vivi. The first we tried was a souvingnon blanc. It was light and fruity. It was followed by a more intense white blend that was a combination of grapes, but resulted in a more floral aroma. Next was a Carmenere, which is considered the grape of Chile. 97% of Carmenere grapes are from Chile. The flavor was quite peppery. The last one was the signature wine of Emiliana, called Coyam. It's their signature because it was their first organic blend. It's created with 6 grapes, giving it a very complex taste. This one is aged in oak unlike the others. Vivi was very knowledgeable and was very good at explaining how some things were unique to Chile. 95% of their wines are exported and I will definitely be looking for them next time I go to the liquor store. Would highly recommend checking out this winery.
