My wife…read moreand I decided to visit Quebec City for Memorial Day Weekend and if not for this airport - it likely would not have happened! The hospitality shown by the members who keep this airport alive was so kind and generous, we were blown back. I corresponded with Denis, who kindly wrote me back and spoke English and allowed me to land here (it is a private airport, so permission is required). Quebec City Airport was incredibly unreasonable with landing/parking fees that it was not an option to go over there. Denis helped us with transportation into Quebec City and was very kind and communicative throughout our stay. I've read up on some of the history of the airport and I'm really sad that the local residents want to shut it down and I hope they can find a way to make peace with this little haven of general aviation near Quebec City that allows tourists to access the city as well. There are no real amenities at Nueville. You gotta park yourself and tie yourself down, but hey - it's a neat runway and there is plenty of space! We met some nice folks at the airport too! If you're a pilot of small planes, definitely consider flying into CNV9 before the big Quebec City airport!

We had a large Chevy Suburban which was able to carry our 9 carry-on bags and 6 people. Louis was our guide and he was very accommodating and informative. We drove to the Canyon Sainte-Anne, the Basilica Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre and the Ile d'Orleans for some fresh fruits, jams and ice cream. It was a great way to spend 4 hours before getting on a plane to leave the city. The vehicle was very clean and the service was wonderful.

Cars are allowed on the ferry. There is plenty of seating inside and out, and there are two levels . The day we went it was a bit overcast, but the views of Old Quebec City , Governor's Promenade and Chateau Frontenac were wonderful. Most of the travelers on the ferry were tourists and riding the ferry for fun. It was well worth it to sit and enjoy the views.

Having read in more than one place that the Quebec-Lévis ferry is something one should do I did it…read more I won't say it was bad but neither will I say it's a must. A few days earlier a guide at a place in Old Quebec had mentioned hailing from Lévis and literally described it as a place with nothing to do and no reason to go. My readings had indicated that the sole reason to go was to see the view of Quebec City from the ferry so when the ferry landed in Lévis seeing Lévis wasn't amongst my desires. The ferry is inexpensive and tickets are purchased on site before boarding. Crossing the St. Lawrence to Lévis takes less than 20 minutes and the ride is pleasant and stable. With lots of outdoor (and indoor) seating, feeling the breeze is as good a reason as any for a ride. At Lévis one must disembark the ferry regardless of whether a return trip is planned. Taking only a brief look at the town - from the ferry terminal - provided ample information that there was no real reason for me to hang out there. If I'd missed this ferry ride - and the view of the city from the river - I'd not have been disappointed but having done it, I have no regrets.

There's not much to say about the functionality of the facility itself which readily met its…read morepurpose for us.  But what can and should be said is that it is the most scenic and striking port we've experienced to date on 9 cruises.   On arrival, you are treated to an awesome view as you approach the old city, the steep hill that the newer city is built upon, and the world famous Fairmont le Chateau Frontenac hotel.  When docked, on the starboard side where we were fortunate enough to be at, you are treated to a stunning and beautiful view of the hotel all day and all night and you can almost reach out and touch it.   The disembarkation process here was also smooth and efficient for what that's worth.  We ended up going off to a post-cruise shore excursion around Quebec City that also took us to the airport (YQB) for a late afternoon flight.  The port terminal building is fairly large but well organized and there were quite a few buses parked and ready for various tours as well as direct airport transfers.  I'll go with 5 stars mainly because of the unforgettable beauty of the port's location.

Took a cruise out of Quebec City. Logistics into port from land and terrible. Two hours for what…read moreis normally a 15 minute ride from the hotel. Won,t even talk about what the cab ride costs. The entire logistics team needs to go back to square one and understand the basics of mass travel. I reccomend the study how successful ports do it such as Miami, Barcellona, Fort Lauderdale. Fort lLauderdale handles 7 ships at a time with minimum delay. Very disappointing
