I was pretty excited to try this place for restaurant week with my family but I was rather disappointed. :/ Service was slow and majority of the food came out lukewarm. Best dish was the shrimp scampi and the NY strip. Linguine was Al dente, and sauce flavorful. Steak cooked well, mash potatoes were flavorful (unfortunately very dry), and asparagus was amazing. Salmon dish - Salmon and asparagus cooked well. Risotto was super bland. Pappardelle was the worst dish in my opinion. Noodles were cooked unevenly and meat was super dry and tough. I ordered it and couldn't finish it. Ended up eating other food my family ordered. Bison Ragu - Flavor was good but the meat was chewy and tough. Dessert: Tiramisu - silky and right amount of sweetness. Generous portion. Would recommend this! Cannoli - it was too grainy for my taste Gelato - it wasn't creamy but rather icy. I think this intervened with the taste of the flavor. Mouse - Excellent crust and delicious. Second place to the tiramisu. Overall I don't think this was worth the restaurant week experience.

Wow, what a hidden gem. From all the rest of the reviews you can probably tell that this was a great restaurant in an unexpected location. So unassuming from the parking lot but once you walk in, it feels like you've been transported to Italy and not a strip mall in Louisville. We had such a wonderful time that I felt the need to come and drop them a review on Yelp. We walked in on a Friday evening without a reservation and was immediately seated. Matt, our server, provided impeccable, attentive service and was great to chat with. He made really amazing recommendations and made us feel welcomed and heard. His service was top-notch. Our meal was so delicious, the complimentary focaccia bread was warm, dense and soft.... I really love the bread. A lot of my favorite Italian restaurants in town have been skipping providing warm bread (usually cold), so it's a nice touch when I see them taking extra care. We loved everything we had. Mushroom Bisque (soup of the day) was amazing, creamy and a perfect pairing to the focaccia. The Wild Mushroom Risotto was perfectly done. I was surprised at the Pappardelle Bolognese as it's not minced meat but chunks of beef and pork in a creamy tomato sauce, tasted very much like a thick stew than a sauce - never had any Bolognese like this before and definitely a fan. I never thought I'd have a full vegetarian meal but the Baked Eggplant Parmesan really knocked my socks off. The butternut squash pairing was really delicious. Overall we had a great experience, amazing food, beautiful atmosphere and we'll definitely be back. This will be on our rotation from now on. Thanks Matt for your service!

My boyfriend and I came here for the 1st night of restaurant week. We each had a cocktail and picked out items from their curated 3-course menu. I had Brussel sprouts with apples to start, which were alright. My main course was a wild mushroom risotto which was a little bland but still good. My favorite was their cannoli - it had sweet, rich ricotta cheese with the perfect crispy outer layer. Their whiskey cocktails are very strong, so I just had one compared to multiple I'd normally order elsewhere. I'd come back for the cocktails and desserts, but the appetizer and entree were meh.

All around great meal! We went for Denver restaurant week so I've only tried their special menu. But it was delicious!! The first course I had was a caesar salad which was a good size for an appetizer. The second course was salmon with a delicious cauliflower purée and pistachio crust on the salmon. And for dessert I got tiramisu. The tiramisu wasn't my favorite that I've had. It had almost too much whipped cream on top and no chocolate which is what I'm used to. Otherwise everything was great! The server was very nice and helpful. And the space is beautiful inside! You'd never expect it was in a strip mall. I will definitely be back!

Baked eggplant parmigiana, I actually prefer the traditional one, not this deconstructed version.

Via Toscana is a busy restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere, offering classic Tuscan cuisine and an impressive wine list. The location in a strip mall is unexpected, but that means easy parking. Service is attentive and when I've visited Via Toscana a few times with groups, they always try to accommodate us, finding a quieter area in the restaurant for book club as an example (they take reservations). Last time, I started with the Lemon Drop, a very refreshing cocktail, and it's always nice to munch on their bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar that they bring as soon as you start looking at the menu. The food is also yummy, you can pick anything from pasta to pizza, including vegetarian options. Not much changes at Via Toscana over the years, and that's a good thing!

My hubby and I decided to stop in for dinner for something a little different. The service was absolutely wonderful and very attentive in a rather busy restaurant. We were tucked away in a cozy corner which was really nice. We had a margarita with extra lime along with a Sauvignon Blanc... And we enjoyed the linguine marinara along with the pappadelle bolognese. Both dishes were delicious. The portions were really good and we ended up taking dinner home... We definitely will be back and it's really nice that it's really close to home you can't go wrong with a very wonderful menu and an extremely well rounded wine list

Between the four of us, we tried a wide variety of dishes, and every single one was fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Each plate that came out somehow topped the last, thoughtful flavors, perfect portions, and clear attention to detail. You can truly taste the care and talent behind the food. The service was just as impressive, warm, attentive, and perfectly timed without ever feeling rushed. A big thank you to our server, Matt, who was fantastic and made the entire evening even more enjoyable. And compliments to Chef Savon, clearly he knows exactly what he's doing. The creativity, quality, and execution across everything we tried were outstanding. Highly recommend if you're looking for amazing food, great atmosphere, and an all-around wonderful dining experience. We'll absolutely be back!

The highlight of the evening was the superb service. Our waiter was professional, kind, attentive, and genuinely diligent in making sure everyone at the table was comfortable and well cared for throughout the evening. His warmth and patience, especially with two tired young children in our party late in the evening, were greatly appreciated. The appetizers were excellent, and the bread was truly superb. Most of the meal was enjoyable, though a few dishes did not quite live up to their descriptions. The lentil soup, unfortunately, was rather bland and forgettable, lacking flavor and depth. Two entrées the tilapia specialty and a risotto-style dish also felt somewhat overstated compared to expectations and unfortunately they were way over salted. To the restaurant's credit, concerns were addressed politely and professionally, though the offer of a replacement felt a bit scripted as the evening was growing late. We did choose not to accept the replacement. Overall, however, the atmosphere, hospitality, and thoughtful service made for a very pleasant evening. With a bit more care from the kitchen in matching execution to presentation and description, this charming restaurant could truly shine. When Colorado announced Michelin was coming for the first time, I was confident Frasca would get a star. The high end food scene in Denver has improved over the years, but Frasca keeps getting more impressive too without moving away from their fundamentals. Currently there are 5 restaurants that are studded with the recognition, it was my honor to be able to visit Frasca Food and Wine a few Sundays ago. It was supposed to be more of a casual "me time" occasion after a long week of heavy workload (from the day and side hustle jobs.) I felt like a drained battery where recharging to be a human again was needed. When I picked this restaurant after typing "wine bar" in the search engine and Frasca was top of the list I completely forgot about the star award this restaurant carried so I hastily picked it to make a reservation. And yet, it dawned on me when I stepped inside and was greeted by an elegantly suited up man upfront. At that moment, the occasion was elevated from "casual" to "plush". "Am I dressed properly for this?" The bar is strictly reserved for solo or two-some diners with reservations. I hence was asked to sit anywhere at the bar. There were two couples finishing up their dinner, but they soon left. Suddenly, I had the ambient bar all to myself. I then had a sigh of relief. I didn't want to be in a place where it was loud with background music and chatters by others; I wanted to sit and relax by enjoying the moment in a quiet setting. The young lady who was manning the bar along with her male coworker mirrors all sorts of traits a person with professionalism must possess. As a matter of fact, all employees who came to assist me during the whole dining experience equally possessed the same degree of integrity/accountability/respectfulness. I carefully looked around to inspect the ambience of the restaurant. Elegant and refined; the overall ambiance is impeccably modern and yet not overly too decorated. Everything looked pleasing to anybody's eyes. I started my night with a glass of red wine. The lady at the bar kindly let me taste the "Bava 2023 Barbera d'Asti Libera" (Piemonte, Italy) before I made my decision. This is the most reasonable one on the "wine by the glass" Red at the price of $16 (as of mid-May of 2026). At a Michelin star restaurant, this might be a rarity. Food: Whereas this restaurant may be geared towards "course" menus, there are several pages where you can pick and choose by the so-called "ala carte" style. I was glad; I certainly wasn't in for $150 to $230 course. I simply needed a few items that would pair well with my red wine. Let's dive into the core of the dinner experience: Food. -The starter sourdough roll with butter. Definitely ask for it. I am not quite sure if they'll automatically bring it to you but since I was craving for a quality bread, I did at the start of my dinner. There was no charge for this when I got my check at the end. -Frico Caldo, a potato dish. A good side dish that is like a crispy potato pancake is the best way to describe it. This is one of the dishes that have a good cause behind them. $1 from every Frico Caldo sold/sale will be donated to CHOW to support hospitality workers' mental health. This type of social responsibility is always appreciated and admired. -Blecs Verdi. Ragu pasta made with spinach dough. A good portion of shredded pecorino was sprinkled over the entire pasta and YET, this is an extremely small entrée dish which is about the size of a child's fist priced at $35. As much as I found it masterfully cooked and prepared, the portion size was quite the disappointment. Yes, I do understand the fact that this (small portion) is typically seen at high-end restaurants especially with Michelin star stud so they could manage the costs of premium ingredients. I also heard that these small portions work to prevent palate fatigue. But in my honest and frank opinion, this dish can add a few more spoonfuls or bites to its current portion size. Fortunately for me though, I didn't need to fill an incredibly big appetite that night. By the time I finished the three items (starter bread, potato dish and pasta dish), I was ready for a small dessert or dessert drink. I ended up with a decaf double espresso with a frothed milk on the side; this came with a baby biscotti. This was simply perfect and enough to conclude the dinner. This elevated night at Frasca cost me $100 after tax and tip. Was it worth it? In a way, yes. Exceptionally professional workers who treated me like a VIP, modern/chic ambience that made me relax to name a few. Although the main pasta dish had a gap between expectations and reality when it came to the portion size, all in all, it was like a night of culinary journey I made from my southern Denver house to Boulder to detach myself from the hustle bustle of busy daily life.
