Worst tour and customer service we have experienced in over 50 years of travel and 100+ countries we have visited. We wanted to visit Cacaxtla ruins in Tlaxcala and Vibe Adventures offered a relatively expensive tour, but that covered what we wanted to see. We booked the tour a couple of months in advance and everything was going as expected for our December 30th, 2025 tour to Cacaxtla and other sites in Tlaxcala. Our driver (top service) and our guide showed up in time at our hotel for our group of 9 people. We got on the van and maybe 20 minutes into the drive and on our way to Tlaxcala, the guide casually told us that Cacaxtla was closed because the ceiling protecting the archaeological site had collapsed a couple of weeks before and it had not been repaired. She offered to take us to visit some other sites in Puebla, which we had already visited before. We had no other option. Vibe Adventures never bothered to contact us to inform us that the archaeological site was closed. They ruined our trip for which we paid a lot of money. Upon our return to our hotel we check on Internet, on the Government official web site, social media, etc. No mention whatsoever of the collapsed ceiling. There are two possible explanations: 1. The accident was true (even if the site was shown as open in social media and official web page and no mention was made of any kind of mishap) and Vibe Adventures did not bother to contact us and mention that the tour we had booked was unavailable, or 2. The guide lied to us and came up with this story because for some unknown reason she did not want to go to Cacaxtla. We sent an email to Vibe Adventures requesting an explanation. We never heard back from them, which leads us to assume that this was just a scam. So far we have no idea what happened. Everything seems to indicate that Cacaxtla was open and the guide simply did not want to take us there. We will definitely never use Vibe Adventures services again. Perhaps, after going public with our terrible experience, they will finally have the courtesy as to reply with an explanation, perhaps a refund. read more

We had an AMAZING excursion from Mexico City to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary! Our tour guide, Alberto, went above and beyond to make our tour comfortable with a clean SUV, extra waters and hiking poles. We went early in the morning on a weekday so there were no crowds. The sun was out so we saw thousands of fluttering butterflies! It was a once in a lifetime, magical experience! We also enjoyed the town of Valle de Bravo and had an amazing lunch on the lake with beautiful views and delicious food. Highly recommend this tour! read more

This was an amazing tour. Even though it rained all morning. Irazu made the best of the tour for all of us! Between the pickup being smooth; and the whole adventure it was fun! The drive is long but from the start we had an ice breaker to get to know each other! It was so much fun with 2 truths and 1 lie! Before our hike we were talking about foods we have tried and love and I actually mentioned how I didn't find atolé de guyaba. Irazú made it a point to find it along the way for me and the group and miracles did happen so I bought one for each person on the bus to try! Once we got to the butterfly migration tour it was somewhat of a hike- bring sneakers, pack a waterproof/windproof jacket or poncho (they also sell them before the tour if it does rain). Also note there are horses you can get on if you do not hike; but the hike is beautiful. Now based on the day the butterflies would either be flying around or as in our case due to the rain just attached to the trees hiding their wings as best as they can. The butterflies were beautiful!! From that tour, we went into the local town of angangueo. Here we had the local mole on chicken: the red mole and guyaba mole!! Both were amazing and the local beer that is made in town! We went to see the local axolotyl. This was like a scene from a disney movie. The older woman had the shop close we knocked and with her sweet voice in Spanish asked if we would like to view her animals! Small cute shop with a few items to purchase. Please note she seems to be partially or fully blind; but fully sweet and kind. This was the end of our tour and started our route back to the city. Just note this will be an all day tour so do not have anything booked even for dinner unless it's set really really late due to not arriving back to CDMX until 9 pm. read more

We had the best trip around the Tulum/Coba area. Our guide, Neftali, was so much fun and also extremely knowledgable about the history of the areas we visited. You can really tell that this is his passion. We did so much in one day but it didn't feel exhausting at all because everything was already taken care for us. We booked the Frida Kahlo and Coyoacana Tour with Vibe through Viator. They happily took our money and confirmed the tour multiple times. They then cancelled the tour at 10pm the night before a morning tour. We are a party of six and all the Kahlo museum tickets are long sold out, meaning Vibe has left us with zero chance of seeing the museum. Vibe and Viator are unprofessional to manage this by a late night last minute email to say the least. I would not recommend counting on Vibe or Viator for any tour of Mexico City. Adding that my phone records clearly show that I was not contacted by phone by Vibe about the cancellation. read more

Great tour!! Highly recommend!! My wife and I were in Cancun in December of 2022. We booked the private Chichen Itzá and Cenote tour. Our guide Mischel was great!! He was professional and fun!! He gave great historical info and gave an fun tour!! I would highly recommend the tour and super highly recommend Mischel as the tour guide!! The drive is approximately 3 hours each way to Chichen Itzá. The SUV was nice, new and comfortable. Lunch good but not great. The day was long. Take your bathing suits if you plan to swim in the Cenote. Bring sunscreen. Cold waters were provided. Please be prepared to tip the wait staff at the restaurant . . . smh . . . I saw several people not tipping (lunch was paid for as part of tour but the tip is not). Please also tip the guide if you feel they have provided a great service which our guide did! Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company. The driver got lost on the way to the Butterfly Sanctuary. He very nearly got the van stuck in the sand on a steep dirt road. We ended up at a different sanctuary than was planned, which was WAY more crowded than the one we were supposed to go to. Entrance fee, sanctuary guide, and meals were not included as promised. The guide was incredibly annoying. He never stopped talking, mostly about non-trip related topics. He spewed spittle on nearby guests. Just revolting. We returned to Mexico City 2 hours late making for a 14 hour day. Horrible. read more

Our guide and driver for our day trip to Teotihuacan were both fantastic. Our guide made sure we saw all the highlights and had interesting information to share. Our driver gracefully tolerated my efforts at Spanish. We ended up having a great conversation between CDMX and the pyramids and back. Going early is a great idea -- there were a ton of cars slowly making their way into the site as we left. We got in quickly. Mayahuel for lunch was a good choice. read more

Private 9 Day tour of Mexico's Colonial Cities. The Good: Enjoyed all the cities we visited, some charming, some magical, some interesting. We asked for a guide who wouldn't bore us with an overload of facts and details---delivered. He did his best to make us happy, even when it went against his company's apparent desire to make a profit over customer satisfaction. The SoSo: Car held all our stuff, but it was cramped and at one point needed some electrical repairs. The Bad: Hotels were mostly unsatisfactory by American standards. We didn't expect the likes of The Ritz Carlton, but more than $40-60 a night rooms with rock hard beds, clogged sinks, toilets that didn't flush, no AC or heat, and no elevators. We made it very clear, I have mobility issues and use a scooter. The Unexpected: Journey was over a 1,000 miles. Long days in the car. Colonial Pueblos exist in the center of now huge cities. Though he met our desire to not burden us with too much verbiage, our guide was more of a driver and interpreter, and was able to charm officials to get breaks on parking and other concessions, but his knowledge was on a par with most people on the street. I think the company is not used to many private tours and took whomever was willing and available to take on two old Americans for 9 days during the Christmas holidays. Wrap Up: Despite some downsides, I enjoyed the tour, but would advise the company to pay more attention to a guest's requests to avoid the issues we had to deal with. read more

We signed up for a private tour of Coyoacán, the Trotsky Museum, and Frida Kahlo Museum. Our tour started out great. Our guide, Eduardo, met us on time and walked us to the Trotsky Museum. Historically, a very interesting stop when you visit Coyoacán. Then, Eduardo walked us around the beautiful town showing us numerous sites of interest. When it was our scheduled time to enter Casa Azul, Eduardo did not have the appropriate credentials with him to enter the museum with us, so we toured the museum on our own. Obviously, when we paid for a private tour, we expected our guide to accompany us through the museum adding insight and interpreting signage in Spanish we could not read. Unfortunately, we did not get what we paid for. Eduardo was waiting for us when we exited the museum, and he escorted us back to the meeting spot and our tour ended. read more

Booking and taking the day tour to San Miguel de Allende and Queretaro was a great experience. My husband and I visited Cancun in January 67, 2022, and booked a private tour to see Chichen Itza, the cenotes, and Valladolid. It was the best tour we've ever had. Our tour guide, Nef was FABULOUS. He picked us up at our resort on time. He opened the doors for us, and asked right off if the AC was at a comfortable level for us. He briefly let us know how the day would go, but basically, it was open to us how long and where. We made stop for breakfast and then were off. He started the ride with his expansive knowledge of the area, Merida (his hometown), Valladolid, and the Yucatan. His lively telling of the history, culture and the people brought the this beautiful country to life. He peppered the history with witticism and humor. He was gracious and professional and made us completely comfortable and made us fall in love with Mexico and its rich history. He was very engaging and he offered to take photos and not just one, but many! He gave tips and advice too and answered our questions. He was so good, other tourists who didn't have guides, listened in! Toward the end, he surprised us with a photo at Chichen Itza that we would not have known about. We will definitely book with Vibe Adventures again, and we will definitely return to this beautiful country, Mexico and continue to immerse ourselves and expand our knowledge of this its history and culture and people. And we hope to see Nef again, too, and hope he continues with his passion of history and people. (He could write a book and it would sell fast!) We feel as though we made a friend. read more

We did the Mixquic Dia de Muertos: Day of the Dead Tour. Unfortunately, the tour did not meet expectations. It was, by far, the worst tour we had during our time in Mexico. We basically paid for a driver, not a tour guide. And the car that came to pick us up - a group of six adults - was not a tour van or even a large SUV. It was a personal vehicle with a very small third row. We were extremely uncomfortable for the 1.5 hour drive to Mixquic. Upon arrival, our 'tour guide' had very little knowledge of the town, like where to eat, where to drink, about the activities of the evening, etc. It was very evident he was not a seasoned tour guide. He had to keep asking locals for advice and recommendations. Save your money and don't do this tour. You can hire a driver for a much cheaper price. (Note, I also tried to email the company the receive a refund and have yet to hear back from them. Poor customer service as well for not addressing the problem). read more

Just got back from a great trip with Sal. he took my daughter and me to Las Grutas de Tolantongo. Vibe confirmed the trip by email in advance and then Sal called to confirm the pick up location and time the night before. He also let me know what to bring so I was prepared. The 3'55" drive up flew by and Sal showed us to the 'ponds.' Sal left us to hang out there for a couple of hours then he brought us to another part of the park with caves, waterfalls and a river all with hot spring water. We had time to explore and soak before finally leaving tired but relaxed. They did a great job and the price was very reasonable. read more

Our guide- Nayeli is the best! history buff, and her enthusiasm about her mexican heritage just make us appreciate it even more! we did the impossible! my daughter had recently sprained her ankle, we managed to do the Teotihuacan pyramid hike with her driving to different pyramid base so its closest to the climb. We got to Frida Kahlo museum on 12-24 with limited tickets available and minimal wait. I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked a tour with Vibe Adventures because the company was relatively new, but wow, it exceeded my expectations in every way. Alex planned an eight-day itinerary that went from Mexico City to the beautiful state of Michoacán. Alex, myself and another tour guide, Nayeli, enjoyed our share of adventures -- horseback riding, hiking to a volcano, ziplining over a lake and sampling exotic foods -- but Alex and Nayeli also taught me about Mexican culture and history, and introduced me to many authentic experiences, like speaking with the Purépecha people, an indigenous group in Michoacán. My tour guides were also flexible with the schedule, giving me options between different activities. Despite my lack of Spanish vocabulary, the Vibe Adventures crew helped translate conversations and proved that humor and compassion transcend beyond cultural and geographic boundaries. We went on a private tour with these guys to Grutas Tolantongo and it was the most fun experience we had in our whole stay in Mexico City. Our guide was Edgardo and the driver was George. They also took us to a bunch of local places (not tourist stops) and we had a great time trying out local flavors like tamales, pastes, pulque, xoconestle liquor, etc, and experienced the typical life of the locals. My husband and I did a two-week trip from Mexico City to the Yucatan with Vibe Adventures. This trip was executed very poorly. First, it took 2 weeks for the company to confirm my reservation. I was on the verge of asking for a refund of my deposit when they finally responded to my multiple inquiries about whether my trip was confirmed. For the trip itself, we had only 1 person who served as both the guide and the driver. He did not seem like an actual guide, as he only seemed to have information we could read on the signs ourselves, and also told us many places where people had died. Also, he was not a safe driver - went the wrong way down a one-way street, drove over 90 mph (not kph), and almost hit other cars and pedestrians. The car that we rode all over Mexico in was much too small for the group. We had 6 people and all of our luggage crammed into a small SUV. Some suitcases were in the roof rack, but backpacks, purses, jackets, etc were all on the seats and around our feet. The air conditioning did not reach the back, either, so people in the front were freezing and in the back were sweltering. Most of the hotels we stayed at were of quite poor quality. Also, the itinerary the company sent us linked to better hotels in at least 2 situations, showing that they had downgraded their initial plan. I seriously wonder where all of our money went, as the hotels, site admission costs, gas, and salary for 1 guide do not even come close to what we paid. I enjoyed the sites we saw, but definitely would NOT recommend this company. read more

We had a wonderful time on the Private Day Tour to Teotihuacan from Mexico City. Vibe worked with us patiently and professionally as we had to reschedule our tour because of Covid, not once but twice. Paula was our tour guide and her extensive knowledge of the site was invaluable. She provided us with detailed information regarding the construction of the pyramids and surrounding buildings, down to the composition of the concrete, the methods of irrigation, and how they created the red dye used on the artwork that still remains after all these years. What a disaster! This was the most disappointing and amateur tour company I have ever experienced in any country. I booked a 3 day private tour for two people in July. The week before the tour in November I was told we could not visit Frida Khalo's house as the tickets had sold out. When I queried why they had not been purchased in July there was no answer other than it was unfortunate. All I was offered was a full refund for the tour, which four days before meant we had no time to find anything else. We decided to carry on. Big mistake. The morning of our first day in Mexico the guide was meant to arrive at 9am. By 9.30 we had heard nothing. We then heard he was on his way but would be late as his grandmother had recently died and he had been at the funeral outside the city - with hindsight he should not have been working as he was erratic to say the least. 3 hours later he said he had arrived but had gone to the wrong hotel even though it was on our booking form and I had told him where we were first thing in the morning. He eventually arrived 3 and a half hours late. He was very apologetic and took us straight to the Anthropology museum. We had a good tour here and he was fairly knowledgeable. As it was now 5pm he drove us around downtown Mexico City but we didn't stop to walk around or visit anything else. We were jet lagged so OK with that although obviously it was part of what we had paid for and if he had come on time we would have. Day two he arrived on time and we set off for our tour. We first had to get petrol though. He did try to get us into Frida Khalo's house but to no avail. We saw her and Diego's studio instead which was fairly disappointing (especially as the guide spent 10 mins in the bathroom on arrival so we did most of the tour on our own) and then after lunch set off to the canals. It was raining and very busy. We were told we would have to wait 20 minutes. After 20 minutes we were told there were still 12 boats in front of us and no sign of any coming back. We decided to give up and go back to our hotel. On the last day we had agreed to meet at 8.30 to go to the pyramids which was to be one of the highlights of our trip. The guide didn't arrive and ignored our calls and messages. The Vibe phone number was unanswered as it was a holiday and there was no emergency contact. In desperation we asked our hotel to help and they arranged a car to take us to the pyramids and find us a guide there. We messaged the Vibe guide to tell him not to bother coming and he said he was on his way. He was 2 and a half hours late at this point so we told him not to bother. We asked Vibe for a full refund but they just gave us one day and barely any apology. The whole point of our trip to Mexico City was to see Frida Khalo's house and the pyramids. And although we booked 5 months in advance this company did not even bother to book our tickets until it was too late and there were none. They sent us an unprofessional and frankly inappropriate guide who told us more about his private life than the history of the city and what we were seeing. We were driven in a 3rd rate and pretty dirty car. We wasted hours waiting for the guide who couldn't understand why we were upset to be left waiting. At no point did Vibe seem to care or show any interest in how our trip was going even when we had messaged them for help when the guide didn't show up. I urge anyone looking for a tour operator in Mexico to avoid this company. Luckily the other guides we had booked in Oaxaca and Merida were all professional and far more knowledgeable (with degrees in history unlike the Vibe guide who had started 3 degrees but never finished one and worked in retail before this role). Don't risk this company ruining your visit to Mexico. read more

Arianna was very informative about the history of the Teotihuacans, their influence on the Aztecs, and answered all our questions and tooks tons of pictures for us.
