Vibe Credit Union in Berkley has always rated a 5-star rating until recently. My wife and I are both undergoing serious medical issues and have had long hospital stays. Our identities were stolen during hospital stays. Resolving this issue has taken months and hopefully will be resolved soon. In the meantime we have been unable to access accounts, etc. Getting in touch with anyone above the branch manager is impossible. Very, very slow response for medical emergencies. read more

Always helpful-whether on phone, app, or in person. Yesterday, I was notified instantly by text that a charge was being presented to my account. Vibe wanted to confirm. It was a potential highjack so I did not authorize and Vibe declined the charge. I then spoke by phone with the 1-800 number. Also helpful and friendly. I was advised that my debit card was compromised and that I needed a new one. Then I went to a customer service Vibe place In Berkley. I was treated like royalty. Thanks, Andrea! I had the worst experience today. I do external online payments with this bank. I will NEVER again. I will drive there now, and waste gas to make sure the money is where it's supposed to be, not taken out of my external account, and no one knows where the money is, for days. The Waterford MI branch was of no help today. I had proof of everything, nothing was pending, money was taken out of my external account, for days, to pay these bills, and they could give me NO answers. Got an email saying something about collections, lady called the collections dept and they had NO recollection of my online payments. Where is the money?! NO one knew, it was just out there somewhere floating around, I guess. About 6 hours later, I check my email and all of a sudden, money is where it's supposed to be. I can't wait to be done with this " credit union" and the blank looks I got when I asked where my money was, no one knew. I was told I don't know, I was told to just wait, I was told nothing to help me, except maybe call external bank and see where the money is, even tho I already had all the confirmation numbers from this bank from those transactions. Vibe, update your online payment options, and even if you don't, get your crap together! Not knowing where someone's money is, isn't acceptable to anyone, your system should know what is happening at all times!! read more

I have always found this branch to not only be convenient, but also to have a very nice staff. They are polite, personable and helpful. Their online banking system is great, and the chat support is quick and efficient. I've been a member of Vibe since I was 16 years old (along with a number of other financial institutions such as Comerica and Bank of America). Vibe is the only bank that I still have accounts with. I received the loan on my first car from them at 18, have my current auto loan, 3 of my business accounts and my wife and I's personal account. Staff is friendly and always able to get any issues ironed out quickly. Love how easy it is to transfer money, great rates on their products and easy to transfer money without a ton of fees. They've recently made some IT changes so there have been a few minor hiccups but no other complaints. read more

I went in and closed my account. It was too much to keep up with all the fees they want to charge. The rep said I am all set, my account is closed. A month and a half later I now get bills for fees being accumulated on my supposedly account that they closed out. Lucky me. I get to spend more of my personal time now going back in and finding out what the hell did they NOT DO to close. I have a back-up Visa card with Vibe. I also, until this week have had both a checking and saving account with Vibe, formally known as Telcom Credit Union. I would like to inform the public about what can and will happen if you are currently a member of Vibe Credit Union and use their Credit Cards. When I leave the country, to go on business and or vacation, I always call ahead of time to inform them of the date I will be leaving, returning and where I will be traveling. On three separate occasions I have had Vibe "turn off" my card. Thankfully, I have other cards to rely on. So, customer beware to travel with more than one credit card. My most recent interaction with Vibe was that Fraudulent charges were being made on my account, one per month for four months. When I called Vibe to explain that I was not in the state that the purchases were being made from (Florida) and they were from a cigarette company (and I do not smoke), they pretty much told me too bad. I ended up calling a number of times and was constantly given the run around. The last straw was two days ago, while on the phone with Vibe... in so many words, the lady- Crystal Carmack, called me a liar, was yelling at me on the phone, constantly interrupting me and finally hung up on me. Today I was called by the "vice president" although he used a different title, Craig Larson, and he told me, again, in so many words..... fine leave our company, find another financial institution, we are not going to try to help you, or apologize for anything and we could care less about your business. that was the message that was relayed to me today. The end result, Vibe does a very poor job managing fraudulent charges on their credit cards and blames it on a third party, which I was later told by another person, is not true and they handle it in-house. I was given a number of inconsistent statements between customer service representative and frankly they were extremely rude. No one should ever be yelled at, especially a customer of a company. Due to the unacceptable customer service, their inability to credit me the $357 that was missed on their part I will be leaving the company and I have been a member of the credit union since 1986. My family will also be leaving them as well as there are far too many customer friendly banks and credit unions in the Metro Detroit area. I would strongly encourage people who are members to closely watch their accounts and or consider another financial institution. read more

I have had multiple mortagages and car loans through them, as well as checking and savings accounts. They are up to date with the times and offer a variety of accounts to meet the needs of all ages and financial situations of their customers.
