I have had the fortunate (or unfortunate depending how you look at it) opportunity to work with San Leandro Vibrantcare over the past 2 years. 3 separate injuries required me to need physical therapy. The staff at the San Leandro facility have been amazing every step of the way. Yulin and Tyler have been phenomenal about finding isolating exercises to help pin point the areas I'm feeling pain. Every session provided me with new movements that would move my recovery forward. I made sure to do my exercises at home to facilitate my success. I cannot thank the whole team enough for giving me the tools I needed to regain mobility after surgery and prevent another surgery all together. I hope I do not require more PT in the future, but if I do, I will be back ready to work! read more

Busy location. They offer various types of rehab. The staff are very nice, I'd say efficient at what they do based on the number of people every time I've gone to an appointment. I kept getting instantaneous pain in my left shoulder while playing water polo. It was difficult for me to describe the pain because it goes away pretty quickly. While I tried my best to describe the pain, the professionals there completely understood the cause of the pain and gave me a variety of exercises. I've been feeling less and less pain, and though it hasn't completely gone away yet, I look forward to less worries about my left shoulder as I continue to do the home exercises. Hopefully their telephone line works better in the future so they can answer more calls more effectively, though I am aware of staffing limitations during this time. read more

Five years ago I came to have treatment and things was good. But now the front desk service is horrible. We waited 2 months for our initial visit. The second visit were set up for evaluation and I put off my work to accompany my wife so I could do the translation. As soon as we arrived the front desk girl told us the evaluator is not in and we needed to reschedule for two weeks later. This time we came 10 mins before the appointment and as soon as we walked to the front desk the girls told us they tried to call us this morning to tell us the PTA called in sick and we need to schedule another day. I was very upset and explained that I had put everything aside in order to help my wife and they couldn't just told us to leave. They needed to be more considerate and accommodate ,arrange so we won't have to take the lost . Finally they rearranged us to see the next PT that day. I felt very upset and frustrated by this total experience from Jeanette and Joyce 's unprofessional behavior. I believe we are not the only one suffer because I also overheard them calling people to cancel appointment due to short staff and long schedule wait time. BTW. I forgot to mention, the first time I called to set up initial visit I left a message and no one ever called back. We had to Physically get here and we were told no available appointments till 2.5 months later. When we came for the visit the place was completely empty. Jeanette told us it's so busy. So I made an appointment at the San Leandro office. But then we live in CV , driving to San Leandro for treatment would not be convenient. So we had to cK back and finally she accepted us. This ordeal has made us very disappointed and we feel the needs to share with you so proper improvement can be done. Thank you ! read more

I was there for PT for Bakers Cyst. My second visit was with Tyler?( he manages 2 centers) He couldn't have cared less about me. He acted as if I was a bother. He would mumble some direction and go back to his computer. I will not be returning there. read more

This place is awful!!! They are trying to bill me more than the ins allows. My coverage says its illegal to over bill beyond what they allow! Called 3 times, was hung up on, and then transferred to leave a message. Terrible scheduling, also. My advice is to go elsewhere. read more

The therapists are great. Each one I've worked with has been super thorough and developed plans that have really helped my recovery. Over time I've grown more confident in my movements and despite having a recent set back, I know I can continue to improve if I follow my plan and listen to my body. I do wish they had more privacy, the tables they use to work on you are out in the open with all other patients and therapists. Other downside is that you tend to be shuffled between a variety of PT's. The inconsistency has had some affect on my recovery since each new person needs to learn my body and assess my progress without prior knowledge. If you ask, they will try and schedule you with the same person. Shout out to Tim and Melanie who work front of house! You two are so on top of appointments, insurance approvals, and payments. They are glue that keeps Vibrantcare running smoothly. Keep up the great work! read more

I have had PT at other places for different body parts over the years. For me, personally, I would give this place just 1 star. The 2 stars is considering that they are OK for some patients, like if you had surgery and need rehab exercises, because that is straight forward, like following an instruction manual. For anything that is not routine, they try a few different things, but have limited knowledge and technique. Before I seeked doctor referral to PT, I had tried exercises and stretching at home for a few months without much help. The therapists here recommended the same exercises and when I said I already did those, they said that obviously I was not doing the exercises or was doing them wrong (yet when I did the exercises, they said I was doing them right!). On top of their rather lacking knowledge, the staff is so young and inexperienced in dealing with people from diverse backgrounds. They assume all their patients don't know anything about their own body, and talk to their older patients like they are small children (especially the guy who I think is the manager!) I was an athlete in my younger days, and still keep regular exercise, and keep up with new fitness information. Although I am not buff, I am relatively fit for my age. I came to PT looking for different exercises or hands-on manipulation to relieve my pain. I already mentioned that their exercises weren't helpful. As for the manual manipulation, they only spend maybe 5 minutes doing that, and with very little pressure, so it's really ineffective. I even had one therapist who was out of breath when doing manual manipulation - I guess she didn't have the physical strength/endurance. I have to find a new job so I can get different insurance so I can go to a different physical therapy clinic. In the meantime, a friend who has no PT training but a background in dance, gave me some pointers on posture and stretching that are helping a bit. read more

I went in to VIbrantCare Rehab 2 months ago and my experience was not a pleasant nor professional one. I went in for routine Physical therapy and was not greeted with professionalism by the young lady at the reception desk. She was rude and not considerate of my personal info. I spoke to her in regard to my visit and she proceeded to speak loudly and tell me that I didn't have the right info and a appointment, not only is my info being discussed in loud fashion I'm now feel like I'm have to prove my self in having a appointment. This was a embarrassing experience that I had, I'm in pain the last thing I should be arguing with my care providers they should provide care not more pain! After finding the correct info the young lady had no apology or anything, I believe that customer service is definitely something this place can work on. Came here right after a shoulder injury due to a fall. It was my first time going to a physical therapy clinic so I had no idea. After my initial exam, which did not include more than some questions, I was sent into the large gym room and handed to a new PT. She showed me an exercise, set a timer, and walked away. When the timer went off, she or another person moved me to a new station, set the timer, and took off. I will add that my injury was in the acute stage, meaning acute pain when my arm moved in the wrong way. I needed more attention to ensure I was not making things worse. One time I didn't quite remember one of the exercises (I had been given a few options using a little ball against the wall. They sent a new guy who completely ignored my request and offered yet another exercise using the ball against the wall, before walking away. This was unnerving. Too many cooks in the kitchen!!! I have gotten far better attention from free trainers at the local 24hrs gym. The best part of the session was wearing the fancy ice jacket at the end. But as it turns out, the exercise homework and the icing several times a day was a bad protocol for me. After a few weeks of following their protocol, I developed severe frozen shoulder. My pain went from really bad to excruciating. I lost almost all range of motion. I do want to say that almost everyone was super friendly, but just attending to a lot of people all at once. And charging one on one rates. My first initial visit was $348...wow...really? And the 2 subsequent sessions were $225 each, for a total of maybe 5-7 minutes personal attention and friendliness. If you are needing a nice environment, a gym to do your PT exercises, because you can't do them at home or at your gym, this place is probably fine. If you need serious attention, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I am now going to Redwood Orthopedic Physical Therapy in Castro Valley and getting proper attention and my shoulder is doing so much better. I receive about 30 minutes of hands on manipulation, and then around 10 minutes of monitored and sometimes hands on assisted help with the exercises to ensure i am doing them correctly. Other than printing off exercises, I'm not sure what this place is good for. First of all, access is not convenient for those with mobility issues (second floor, long walk from parking). Reception area is very odd with little seating, which aren't particularly comfortable. However, Receptionists are friendly. Other than one evaluation visit with someone who seems relatively capable, the rest of your time you will be sloughed off on the minimum-wage help who are supervising half dozen people at once. The helper was leading me back somewhere but didn't even get halfway to the treatment area before they had disappeared, trying to instruct some other patient. This happened not once but TWICE IN A ROW with visits. She then said in an irritated tone you will always come to the same chair here (well, thanks for letting me know AFTER THE FACT!) After running me through the exercise, I was given a heating pad and some ice. I only once did I receive hands-on treatment from an obviously pregnant therapist who didn't have adequate strength I believe. Between poor patient access and the apathetic treatment supervision, I decided the weekly visits weren't worth the pain etc. The therapist said she was going to do hands on, I assumed at end of visit, but after I said I could do exercises, heat and ice at home, she rethought that and decided I wasn't worth any more effort, even though I am in constant, obvious pain. So much for caring therapy, huh? No. Unless you are an injured male athlete, don't bother coming here. It's a glorified gym. read more

Recently I completed my physical therapy sessions at VibrantCare in San Leandro. I am VERY PLEASED with the outcome. I was so pleased first of all with the staff because they were always pleasant and immediately took care of business, never had to stand or sit around waiting for service. All of the therapists that worked with me to get my condition under control seem to have had the proper training necessary which I am grateful. When I started I had neck pain and had trouble sleeping with a pillow and when I left after 12 sessions I had no pain, back to sleeping well and using my pillow. This week, I completed my 7th visit at vibrant care. I was prescribed PT after surgery on my ankle, and was supposed to be treated for accompanying hip drop as well. There are good things which led me to hang on that long, but there were also a lot of issues that have prompted me to go elsewhere. The good: -There's a parking lot -They can accommodate 8am appointments -The staff is very friendly The bad: -A different PT will likely do your eval than your ongoing appointments (even if you, like me, request this not happen in advance). -The other PT's you are shuffled around to will likely not read your chart. So, if you have a complicated prognosis, or multiple injury sites; be prepared. I had to stop both my second therapist (on the second visit) and my 3rd therapist (on visit 6) from giving me exercises that the doctor had directly restricted on my referral - indicating they had not read my file. This was further indicated on my 4th visit, when the 3rd therapist didn't realize he should have been working on my hip in addition to my ankle, and I had to repeatedly ask him to look in my chart. -Twice I cancelled/rescheduled appointments and the front desk "forgot" and called me to see where I was I did try to remedy these issues with Vibrant Care. I spoke multiple times to the front desk, to the therapists, and even to a manager by phone. On my 7th visit, after discussing how my gait had been getting worse, not better, my therapist said "So, maybe we'll see you again after you see your doctor," and that was the last straw. Vibrant care clearly does not want my business, and that's fine. I will go somewhere else. read more

I've read some pretty remarkable reviews here and don't agree with most of them. The ladies at Vibrant Care have taken care of me through 6 separate and serious rehabs. All different body parts. Michelle and Darny pushed me hard and made me work to heal. They kept an eye on me and trusted me complete my therapy. Part of being successful is being able to overcome the injury and be self sufficient. I sat many and hour inside the facility listening to patients whine and refuse to even try to help themselves. Some have come in, clearly refusing to lose weight and/or stop smoking and then wonder why they can't succeed. I'm clearly no Adonis or picture of health but I am one their success stories. You get what you put into it and if you show initiative, you too will succeed. read more

My real rating would be 2.5 but I don't have the option. My real problem is lack of communication between the PTs. I trust when someone is working with me, tweaking and changing certain exercises they are writing it down. So when the next person you get is leading you through the wrong routine (the one they changed a few days ago?), you have to wonder "are they really reading this, or did the prior person not write it down?" So it behooves you to pay attention to what they tell you so that someone else doesn't lead you the wrong way. read more

If you are trying to really get better, do not come here. Do not spend your money$$$. It's not worth it. For older people, yes. It is ok. But these are the complaints. They rotate therapists frequently. They never know where you left off from the last visits. Some of the therapists have NO IDEA what to do. They have you repeat steps 1 -3 when you should be at step 8 or 9. They don't know your name. One lady has to ask the other therapists how to actually do the exercises because she didn't know what to do. They don't care because all they try to do is book as many appointments in as possible. No consistency. When I finally got a decent therapist, she wasn't available for my next few appointment. I am going to leave the place. Luckily I have been doing things on my own which has helped me. read more

I had a really great physical therapy (PT) experience at the Castro Valley location- across the way from the Castro Valley BART station. I was recovering from Rotator Cuff Surgery to my right shoulder. I had 4 screws put in arthroscopically(spelling?). However you spell it, it is a MUCH LESS invasive surgery than when they cut open your whole shoulder, peel back the.........TMI(Too Much Information), huh?....Well, it could of be a lot more painful then it was. I had Karlena as my Physical Therapist and Naomi as my PT Aide. Oh my gosh, Naomi is so nice, but she worked me so hard, [she was always on me about my form/stance and posture, and do the exercise slower which is SO much harder to do] but you know what? Each time I went in to see my surgeon/doctor and his assistant [Dr. Stuffman and Stephen Powers] ; they would be THRILLED and tell me all kinds of glowing stuff: like people at my point (in healing) sometimes can't even do.....1/3 LESS than I was doing. I was doing terrific. This was at 12 weeks and 4 months after surgery. And all my physical therapy people would be happy, reminding me of when I was only 90 degrees to lying down when I started.... I did remember that,"But that was weeks ago", I would be thinking. I still wasn't happy with my progress. I STILL CAN'T reach my shoulder blade with my hand behind my back. I want it all back. So maybe it's me? I am told, it's a very big complex surgery because of the way the shoulder is able to more in a much more three- dimensional way, say, compared with your hip. I'm side-barring all over the place. Back to the PT. They had me do all kinds of exercises, range of motion, using my arm weight, with light weights (starting at 1 and 2 pounds, which feel like they weigh a ton), body blade, foam roller, a cane, pulley's, and thera-bands/Val-u-bands of differing "weights"/colors. They even gave me "homework"; I had exercises to do at home. These started as motions that I did with my arm, then progressed. They gave me ther-a-bands/Val-u-bands to take home with paper copies of the exercises I was to do. I ended up buying my own stuff from Amazon.com to do some of the exercises at home-the foam roller, the body blade [ which had a whole exercise routine you can do once you're doing much better again. I felt like that was a really good investment.], hand weight [though I also used bottles of water partially and fully filled]. All through everything, they encouraged me to come to them if I had any questions about the exercises, but they still kept an eye on me, while I was doing them there. At the end, they made sure I had copies of my exercises, and said I could call and talk to them, or email them if I had any more questions about anything. I really felt like they, especially Naomi, wanted me to succeed. Okay, Neal, Angelo, Sammy and Kat, the helpers, I am giving you a shout out 'hello' from Ronnie. And thanks for everything. You know how it is with helpers: they do a LOT of the foot work, but you probably don't get mentioned. Thanks for working on all the exercises with me, and being so good humored about any of 'the whinies' that I went through. I still hate the ball-push-ups. read more

I went to Vibrant because of upper back issues. The exercises they gave me have helped substantially. All the therapists I worked with were extremely nice and the all seemed very knowledgeable. racism is still alive unfair treatment was given to me! racism is still alive!!!they are flat out racist plus the fact i was judged on the fact that i am an ftm. i'm hurt by the treatment they have given me. when going i was treated as if i didn't belong there. this place said they kicked me out because i didn't come to my appointments. they said i missed 17 appointments. i was only scheduled for the 11.they told me i'm scheduled for another day. i would put the date and time in my phone. when i get there they would tell me that my appointment was a day before or i'm late. i ask for another therapist to reception jenny because the therapist i had didn't do what my doctor asked for plus her hands wasn't strong enough for my body. they told me ok but that's when things went down hill. i was asking for treatment i have to get such as heat, massage and exercise which was on my referral for care. they did none of the sort. then ivy which is the therapist i wanted to go to told them that i missed to many days and he kicked me out. i had no chance from the beginning with this place. my race and sex perfrence was looked up. i was kicked out without warning, heads up, letter nor phone call. i wish we all could leave race and sexual orentation likings out of our work place. key point how does the therapist ivy determine if i get kicked out and how did he know how many times i missed. i wasn't even appointed to him because they had to do and evaluation. racist and me being ftm played it's part and i'm hurt from this. read more

I spent a lot of time at this facility in 2017, but my beginning experience goes back a few years prior. I spent so much time there in 2017 that I began calling them family and of course they knew me by name, and served me with a smile and pain. The therapists work as a team and I didn't just always have the same therapists so I always hoped to get an easy therapist when they had to switch off, but nope each one made me work and I got better and stronger. My mobility improved, pain in my neck and low back decreased greatly and I no longer had burning in my legs. I learned how to get relief at home when I have flareups. I was in and out for injuries to different body parts from my ankle to my neck. Scheduling was easy and the fact that the building has an elevator made access easy. The issues related to my injuries were explained to me much better than any explanation I ever received from my pain management physician. Besides learning to manage each exercise routine very well, I also received hands on therapy, heat and specific mechanical manipulation therapies. Certain hours, certain times of day and certain days are busier than others but the therapists work hard to see that each individual receives the care and attention warranted by his/her injury. read more
