Silence of the Hams: Buttermilk biscuit, smoked ham, white cheddar chese and egg $11.00
Rhonda R.

There's nothing better on a chilly Northeast Ohio day than a crispy piece of chicken on a biscuit--and that's exactly what brought me back to Fisher's Biscuits in Fairlawn today. I'd been here once before, but this time I returned with a friend. I ordered the Hen Solo--just a biscuit and a piece of chicken--and honestly, if you've ever had a certain famous fast-food chicken biscuit, this is the elevated, hand-fried, house-made version. The chicken was perfectly crisp and flavorful, and the biscuit? Flaky, buttery, and clearly fresh. You can tell by the layers alone. One of my favorite touches was the butter bar--whipped butter, honey butter, maple butter, plus jellies ranging from classic to bold (including habanero and even ghost chili!). Such a fun and thoughtful detail. My friend ordered the Silence of the Hams, a playful take on eggs and ham: a fresh flaky biscuit, fried egg, two generous pieces of grilled ham, and melted cheese dripping beautifully over the sides. Comfort food done right. For dessert (because how could we not?), we shared their famous Vicious Beignets--stuffed with cinnamon-cream cheese filled, layered in a bowl with whipped cream, powdered sugar, and fresh strawberries. Absolutely indulgent and worth every bite. The restaurant was clean and busy, yet ordering was easy. Miriam at the counter was incredibly helpful and explained that the yellow items on the menu board highlight fan favorites--such a smart idea. She was also happy to customize anything we wanted. A side note I appreciated: on my previous visit, I noticed they offer a full gluten-free menu, which my husband (who is gluten-free) enjoyed tremendously. On our way out, I chatted with Jonas, Director of Operations. He was genuinely excited about our experience and even gave me his card for future questions. He also let a little secret slip--Medina is getting a Vicious Biscuits soon! For those making the drive to Fairlawn or Akron now, it looks like you'll have one closer to home before long... though I may still make the drive just to visit again. Highly recommend. Warm food, welcoming staff, and comfort done exceptionally well.

Stopped into Vicious Biscuit for breakfast this morning. My wife got a gluten free sandwich and it looked delicious. I got the HUEVOS RANCHEROS and I highly recommend it! The service was speedy and very nice! The place was packed but it was worth the wait! We will be back!

My friend and I were looking for a fun new place for breakfast and this place did not disappoint! I ordered the "silence of the hams" breakfast sandwich on a biscuit with egg whites and not pictured were a side of the maple sausage, gravy, and a side of breakfast potatoes (neither of which stood a chance because they were so good, that's why there is no photo). I also loved that they had a jam/butter bar and the favorite of each was the apple pie jam and the honey butter. Even the service was great. I totally enjoyed my meal as did my friend. Thank you!

This place is busy but friendly. The menu is full of things I want to try - lots of spicy options with cowboy crack (candied jalapeños). There is a jam bar with flavored jams and butters to put on your biscuits! Quirky and fun place.

Stopped into Vicious Biscuit when visiting the Akron area. Their menu had a wide variety of breakfast sandwich flavors as well as other breakfast/lunch items. One orders at the main counter, receives a number, and sits where they please. Staff will bring food to your table. Be sure to check out their condiment bar full of jams, flavored butters, and sauces. I ordered the Animal Farm sandwich. The biscuit is very fluffy and I loved the savory candied bacon flavor it came with. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich but would benefit from a sauce added as well as melting the cheese. My husband got the Vicious. The gravy had great flavor and the biscuit had subtle heat from the jalapeños added. Both sandwiches cost about $23 which is a bit of a premium but all ingredients tasted fresh and of quality.

Random breakfast stop and it was delicious! Had the Jalapeño Cheddar biscuit with Chicken and Hot Honey.

Best biscuits and gravy I have ever had the pleasure of eating! You order at the counter, and they bring the food out to your table, and the service is great. Cannot sing their praises enough

I do not live close to this place. But I make an effort to get here every once in a while. The options are plentiful. You shouldn't have a problem getting what you need to satisfy your tastebuds. The staff is very friendly. And very busy. Every time I come the line is out the door. I never knew people enjoyed biscuits this much. They have a butter bar for your enjoyment. The flavors on the bar are awesome. And always kept full. The prices are not the cheapest. But they by far are not expensive. You just have to decide how much deliciousness is worth.

Outside Vicious Biscuit in Akron (Wednesday, 19 February 2025)

Bless your sweet heart because the south has arrived in Northeast Ohio. I visited for the first time on Wednesday, 19 February 2025 and that certainly won't be my last visit. I arrived early at 7:15am which was just after they opened (they open at 7am). I ordered and paid for breakfast to-go (pancakes) which you can read about below. I also got lunch and dessert to go through a Yelp complimentary experience. I had such a lovely conversation with Christian, an employee there, that he even gave me a free cup of tea of my choosing, to go. I chose the Bigelow black tea (lemon lift flavour) and it tasted so refreshing. I also met Jen, the restaurant manager, who was nice and greeted me. FOOD and DRINKS -- Here is what I've tried so far: SOFT STACK, PANCAKES, ($9) -- Two sweet cream pancakes with two thick-cut bacon slices. I substituted bacon for fruit. I got a small side of fruit which was $1. So in total, I paid $10. The short stack pancakes are absolutely delicious and I was so full from eating just 2 of them. I drizzled some syrup on them because what are pancakes without some tasty syrup? I recommend the short stack pancakes with a hot cup of tea. When I read the menu, I thought the pancakes would be small and light because it was described as "short stack". But, the pancakes are thick and big which is fine because they were very tasty. I still had a somewhat light breakfast since I didn't eat any protein (meat) such as sausages or bacon. CHICKEN BACON RANCH, biscuit ($12.50) -- Buttermilk biscuit topped with two thick bacon slices, fried chicken breast, Frank's RedHot sauce, ranch dressing and pickles shaped like little chips so called "pickle chips". The chicken bacon ranch tasted good. I ate the chicken bacon ranch for lunch on the same day that I visited. I took it out of my fridge and heated it up in my oven. It tasted good because of the main ingredient, the fried chicken. I realized as I was eating it that I don't like ranch in my food so I'll have them remove that the next time I order this. Besides the ranch taste, the sandwich was good. The thick pieces of bacon were a generous amount. Their BISCUITS are apparently homemade which is awesome. After eating the chicken biscuit sandwich, I tried 2 sweet potato fritters ("sweet puppies", read below. SWEET PUPPIES ($7) -- Deep-fried sweet potato fritters, powdered sugar, with a white chocolate custard dip. The sweet puppies are delicious but definitely slightly bitter. I heated it up for about 10 seconds in my microwave then took the white chocolate custard dip out of my fridge and dipped the fritters in the custard. If you are a sweet tooth then you'll love this dessert. FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE ($6) -- The $6 freshly squeezed orange juice is very refreshing. Don't sleep on this kids. Yes, this is expensive as I've had $3 freshly squeezed juice from Lucky's Market in Lakewood but the $6 price is worth it. You can definitely taste the difference between store bought commercial orange juice and Vicious Biscuit's orange juice. BIGELOW BLACK TEA, lemon lift flavour, $3 -- a hot cup of tea to go was perfect on my drive back to Cleveland. I didn't add any sugar or honey to my tea and I loved it. Normally, I sometimes add honey to my tea but I didn't feel like it on this day. I tasted the tea during my drive and it was very soothing to my throat. The lemon flavour really stood out. Okay, it's just tea but I love tea and hate coffee so that explains my excitement. NEW CLEVELAND LOCATION -- I don't live in Akron but Christian, an employee, told me that the franchise owner, Carl, plans to open a Cleveland location soon (in 2025) in Strongsville. I look forward to visiting their Cleveland location when they open. I can't wait to return and sit in instead of taking my food out especially because I think their biscuits are made fresh, in-house. I've only been here once so a 4/5 rating is good, for now. ***TIP: arrive early because according to some Yelp reviews, their lines get very long. The employee who helped me even mentioned, after I asked him about lines, that they are very busy on weekends but that the lines gradually move along as quickly as possible. **** GOAL of 365 reviews in 2025 - 40/365 total reviews in 2025 - 821 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 20 February 2025

Vicious Biscuit is fantastic! It kind of reminds me of the breakfast biscuit meals that I used to get in the south. Everything was fresh and delicious. I went with The Animal Farm: a biscuit, scrambled egg, cheese and candied bacon. It was excellent. Next time I'm going to try the Nashville Hot Chicken biscuit. That looked great too! I also got an order of the Vicious Beignets. These are cinnamon pastries with cream cheese and fruit. I only got a brief taste because my kids devoured them! Lol. I guess it's two orders next time. They have a wide variety of drinks, including mimosas, soft drinks, and several different types of coffee beverages. The coffee is serve yourself, and it's right by a really cool butter and jam bar that you can visit to spice up your biscuits with numerous different flavors. Finally, all of the employees were very nice. Several went out of their way to ask how our experience was. We definitely felt welcomed and appreciated! We really enjoyed our trip to Vicious Biscuit and will definitely be back. This is a great spot for breakfast or brunch. Highly recommended!

The food fell a bit short of my expectations. We waited in line for 25 minutes to order our food; which was totally fine given how long of a line there was. It took another 20 minutes to get our food, which again is totally fine given the circumstances. What isn't fine is the fact my sandwich was colddd. Not just like luke warm, but cold. My wife's food was warm and she liked it enough, but there was a puddle of oil underneath her egg white omelette that was off putting. The jam bar was a nice touch and everything in there was really good, we tried at least 6 different butters and jams. The sandwich by itself was $13.50 and felt small for the price. Everything else seemed to be priced pretty close to market. I was shocked that it wasn't a sit down place, but rather wait in line and then hope there is a table free. There was not a clean table free after we waited, but we asked an employee to clean one for us and they did right away. The employees and manager who checked on us twice were all great though. The atmosphere is nice and the idea behind the place is solid. But for the price and quality, we probably won't be back any time soon

Thank you yelp for the opportunity to experience this restaurant. Upon pulling up and parking the aroma filled the parking lot with good inviting smells. Once I got inside the line was to the door and this is a pretty big place. I immediately thought oh boy we are about to have a long wait. The line went by faster than expected and was maybe ten minutes at the most. I ordered the beignets and the vicious chicken biscuit with orange juice. My guy ordered the chicken bacon ranch and added tomatoes and also added a side of potatoes. Once you place your order they give you a number to place on your table and you proceed to find an available table. While waiting on our food to come out I checked out their jam and honey bar and chose to get the honey butter, sweet potato butter and peach habanero jam. On to the food, the vicious was good but nothing I would run back for. As well as the beignets, they were good but I would try a different shareable. But OMG the chicken bacon ranch sandwich was AMAZING. I wish I would've got that instead and I will be back for it. They were not stingy with the bacon at all and the pickles and tomatoes were fresh. The perfect amount of ranch was added to the sandwich and we opted to not have the hot sauce on the sandwich as well. Also, the orange juice didn't taste great.

Bit of a miss for me. Line out the door with several signs saying "no saving tables, you must have an order number to sit" but we watched several people grab tables as soon as they walked in leaving many standing around looking where to sit with their food. Bad system (at least for the busy weekend) We ordered a shareable, 2 biscuits, and a kids meal. With 18% tip it was $65! For a quick breakfast stop, no thanks. Food was good but I felt the portions were small for the price. No sides included just a biscuit sandwich on a plate. My vicious sandwich came out cold, which was disappointing. Overall, I may give them another try on a weekday.

We were told the ingredients for our cocktails were not available due to a large party the previous night then waited 30 min for the oysters Rockefeller, which were overcooked. I tried the ribs that seemed to be reheated and we got the smoked chicken that was pretty good. The grilled potatoes were raw inside and the greens were undercooked and lacked any flavor. Prices were a little high for the quality of the food. Overall the staff were great, the restaurant was nice but the food was not great.

So let's go... Prices are decent for the portion sizes, come on they are huge. Pasta, ribs and chicken dishes are the winners. The side veggie egg rolls not so much. Don't order them if you are expecting $15 egg rolls because that is not what you will get. The bread is fresh and warm, so good! The oil dipping sauce is tasty as well. The service was great, very attentive. The mixed cocktails were excellent. When you think golf course, you have to remember this is Akron and this place is on the edge of a neighborhood. It was nice enough for the enjoyable dinner we had for decent prices. Again the service was on point and the cocktails rocked. Bonus for having vegetarian options. I look forward to returning and enjoying the patio that over looks the golf course. They also set up a few weekly events so be prepared to see an artist preform on a random night.

Parking is very crowded, but you can usually park at nearby businesses. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and given the option of waiting about 20 minutes for indoor seating or sitting outside with heaters. We chose outside. Even though it was raining, the heaters kept it comfortable and it was still a nice experience. The biggest issue was the wait for the food. It took about an hour for our meals to arrive. The staff was very apologetic and explained they were having issues, which we appreciated, but an hour is still a long wait. This was especially noticeable because the restaurant's website mentions that, due to limited space, guests are asked to limit their stay to about 75 minutes. The inside of the restaurant also felt very congested because of the front entrance layout and the constant flow of people coming in. One suggestion would be to add the bakery items directly to the menu so guests can easily order them with their meals instead of having to ask separately. Our server was very nice, and the food itself was good. I ordered the hash with scrambled eggs and a coffee, while my wife had a pot of tea and the Croque Madame. They also had specials available, but we decided to keep it simple. Sorry, no pictures -- we forgot to take them. Overall, the prices were slightly higher than normal for similar places we've visited.
