We went the other day for lunch and it was so good. We got the Cubano, the Nashville hot chicken and the fat boy and all were very tasty. They also have really good shareable and we got the fried green tomato's that were good. We ordered online, but had to order through a third party app for pick-up. It would be great if they got their own online ordering, but that is probably my only complaint. The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. First the disclaimer - I'm not a big fan of going out to breakfast and having to wait a long time to order and be served is a hard sell for me. That said, this place was fun and delicious. I came to breakfast here as part of a Yelp elite event. I had the beignets shareable, the short stack pancakes with bacon, and a fresh squeezed orange juice. Even though it has been years since I have been to Café Du Monde in New Orleans, I must admit I compare all beignets to those. These were much heavier, more like an old-fashioned donut, with a crispy exterior. That alone would've been amazing, but add to it the incredible Chantilly cream that comes with it, and you have an amazing meal. Personally, I could've done without the cinnamon cream cheese, filling, as I thought the cinnamon was a bit overwhelming, but as a whole, these were good. The pancakes and bacon were excellent, and the bacon is definitely thick cut. I rarely order orange juice in restaurants, as canned or frozen orange juice tends to be very acidic and upsets my stomach. Given that they advertise "fresh squeezed" I decided to give it a try. You get a full mason jar of orange juice, a size you rarely see at breakfast places. And it is definitely fresh squeezed. There is no doubt about it! Extra points for that! I've been wanting to try this place for a while but hadn't gotten around to it. We finally went and it was delicious. I'm not a huge biscuit or pancake person but after trying the waffle, it wasn't my thing and requested one biscuit and a pancake. The biscuit is the absolute best I've ever had. The assortment of jams and butters was a really nice touch. My favorites were the blackberry jam and maple bourbon butter. The chicken was good and the dipping sauce was really tasty. We got an order of the sweet pups and those were really good too. Hubby got the Skully and I'll get that next time for sure. The hot mocha's were tasty and it was great to see the owners working alongside their staff. This is definitely somewhere we'll return to! read more

I have been to many breakfast nooks... at least 10 that specialize in "the perfect biscuit." This restaurant won! It was very very delicious. You order your food, sit down, and they bring it to you. It took about 5 to 6 min from paying to getting my food and they were at about 1/4 capacity. The price matches the flavor quality, but is rather pricey. You get what you pay for though. So if you have a couple extra bucks to spend on a tasty biscuit I recommend it. I got the Vicious Biscuit, a biscuit (4" to 5" diameter) with sausage gravy (maple sausage) jalapeños, and a fried chicken cutlet. The chicken was flavorful and juicy and the skin was very tasty. The biscuit dough was like a cheddar bay biscuit with less butter, and jalapeños added. Next time I'm in this area I will most likely find myself here read more

My only complaint (which is actually a good sign) - the line took a bit it's a fast casual place, so you order and then find a seat. The entire time we were there, there was a line. Wow! What can I say, this place was beyond amazing! The biscuits were light fluffy and huge! My husband and I got the fried green 'maters to share and we both got The Vicious Chicken biscuits! The chicken and biscuits were huge and fresh! Lots of gravy and full of flavor. The staff was also so friendly! We talked to the manager who shared all about the menu as it was our first time and how to order and then get seated! They prefer you order first before grabbing a table with your order number! A friend and I visited Vicious Biscuit this weekend for the first time. I found the food to be delicious and the service excellent. The line moved very quickly and even though it looked crowded, we had no problem finding a table. I was most impressed with Jonas, the manager, who made a point of coming to us to ask how everything was and was there anything he could do to make our experience better. The atmosphere of a southern kitchen, right here in Akron! Stopped by early in the morning, on one of their first days open, but didn't feel any of the new restaurant chaos. The service was excellent and attentive, even though it is fast casual. The ordering line moved slowly (which I expected from a new restaurant) but the food came out quickly! We got The Gravy Train as well as the Old School Breakfast with a cold brew & a Bloody Mary. We also tried the cheddar jalapeño biscuit. Overall, we were pleased with the food. Great new local restaurant! The line is definitely worth the wait. The restaurant has only been open for a month and there's a lot of people coming from all over to give the place a try. First off the Jam Bar is awesome, the Habanero Jam was to die for. We ordered several items since wanted to try a couple things out. The beignets were to die for, you absolutely have to try these out. We wish there was more than 4 but definitely worth trying out we loved them. The we ordered 2 individual biscuits both were really good and light. The Viscous was my entree and I really enjoyed it, it had a lot of flavor and it all paired very nicely with the jalapeño bisquit. read more

Yum. Y'all come on in! First visit and a surprise to find a Southern breakfast brunch place in Akron. Ken, one of the owners was great and answered all our questions of how they landed in Akron plus a fabulous tour of the menu. He's a gem. Let's start w the fried green tomato appetizer w pimento cheese and a bacon jam. Not greasy at all, crispy and Ken said they are 1/4 inch thick which was a question my friend asked. Nice serving size and the pimento cheese was delish. I don't eat meat but my friend said the bacon jam was very good and unexpected. Garnished w pickled okra that we could've eaten several more of those. We'd definitely order the fried green tomatoes again. We both had the shrimp and grits and the gravy is vegetarian. Very tasty and I had them hold the bacon. The grits were FABulous! As a southerner I wanted just what they served, which was stone ground high quality grits -- perfectly cooked. A strong win. The shrimp had a nice number and well seasoned and tasty. The vegetarian gravy was super tasty -- I'd love a big bowl of grits with that gravy which I don't know if that is an option but would be a great idea for the vegetarians. Other than fried green tomatoes and if you do dairy the pimento cheese if you don't eat meat or shrimp. If vegan go somewhere else. The shrimp and grits were served on an open face biscuit. It was a very filling dish and I'd order again. I think I might have them do the biscuit on the aside and so I could have butter and jam it up instead of on the biscuit. But I did like it a lot just as it comes. You won't go wrong! I cut off a slice of biscuit and had the maple bourbon butter with the peach habanero jam and it was epic. They could up their game on the coffee because a breakfast spot needs good coffee. The biscuit we had mixed reviews. Not bad just both of us grew up in the south so the bar is high. My mom and grandmother made light, flaky, buttermilk biscuits and these were rather dense and a bit of a Bisquick baking mix taste to me. My friend didn't think that was the taste though. And honestly lotsa folks love that flavor. Later about it not being light and flaky I also realized that they do need a substantial biscuit for their biscuit sandwiches which are more of a bun to hold all the significant yumminess they pack into them. My grandmother's biscuits would have crumpled under the heft of their fillings. Having said that, a piping hot biscuit w their fancy butters would have probably won me over. To go, we got a jalapeño biscuit, a sweet potato biscuit, and grits. I didn't try these but heard these two biscuit were excellent. And we already knew the grits rocked it. The environment is very clean and nice. Not too loud. High tops, low tops, and booths. Counter service for ordering was excellent. Food, except cold drinks, is served on glass or stoneware and no paper serving dishes. Staff, all very friendly. They bus your table which we appreciated. Cute decor. We declared it a win. I'd give it a 4.5 of 5 stars. We will be back. The place was doing a brisk business with no wait 11-12:30 on this weekday. There is certainly a focus towards breakfast foods, but also several non- breakfast options. They also have alcohol! I was expecting a side down service with wait staff. This is a typical fast casual option, order at the counter on your way in and they deliver to your table. The bacon and ham were excellent. The biscuit was good, not great. They are certainly large biscuits. I also got grits, I like them traditional style, grits with salt and butter. These were really creamy, maybe cheese or cream in them. My daughter has wanted me to try this place for awhile because she absolutely loves it We finally made it here today and I was not impressed. I had the Vicious Benny for $13 for the biscuit only, sides are extra. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes. The biscuit was good, the eggs were cooked on high so the edges were the burnt and the egg was discolored to a dark brown. For me the Hollandaise was too tart luckily it was barely sauced so I didn't have much to scrape off , which if you liked their sauce would be disappointed by the lack of sauce. The fried green tomatoes were frozen and you could immediately tell . I left 2 of the 4 tomatoes, and half a biscuit with eggs and ham behind. The staff was kind and helpful. This place opens early, and closes early, it's definitely a brunch spot. The employee behind the counter was very helpful and you order and they bring your food out to you. The bathrooms were clean and the place looks brand new. It is clean. I ordered fried green matters, they were just okay, lots of grease. But you get pickled okra, and bacon jam and some type of cheese spread. I also ordered a biscuit and a maple gravy bowl and a side of potatoes and an extra side of gravy. The gravy is delicious and so is the biscuit, you don't need extra gravy unless you want it for sides or dipping, you get more than enough with your purchase. But I have to say the gravy was really good. The potatoes were just meh. I would come back to get a sandwich, or just another gravy biscuit bowl. There was a gentleman who came out from the back when I was cleaning up my space, the place is pretty big and they do clean up, but it was early and I just do that stuff to help staff, anyways a staff person came out to get a drink from the fountain drink machine and I asked him if I could get a bigger container for the extra gravy I purchased, they do have little butter containers, for their butter bar, but I needed a bigger container, they obliged. Like I said place was very clean and it was early like 7:15am and there were patrons there before me. Family's and friends were coming in as I was leaving, and it wasn't even 8 am. I live nearby and finally visited for brunch this past weekend. The fresh squeezed orange juice was the best I've ever had. I also ordered the Animal Farm biscuit and it was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised the bacon had a sweet and spicy flavor. Mild spice level (not too spicy). We also ordered and Vicious Beignets which were so good we scarfed them down in 2 minutes. Great addition to this plaza! I saw their giant sign as soon as it was up and as a local and brunch lover, I'd been looking forward to giving this place a try. Arrived at 11am on a Sunday and stood in line by a sign that said from that spot the wait would be about 25 minutes. It was almost exactly 25 minutes from that point to the front of the line so we really appreciated the accurate level setting! You go up to the counter and order your food, then you get a table number and they bring it out to you. I ordered a coffee and they give you a ceramic mug which you fill and can refill yourself as many times as you want. I found the coffee excellent so I was happy to get as many refills as my caffeine loving heart desired :) They don't have a ton of vegetarian options but I found a few things. I ordered the munchkin platter (and was thrilled I was allowed to order that with no questions asked, being an adult and all) and subbed the bacon for fruit. The platter was perfect as it allowed me to try a sampling of pretty much everything I wanted! I even added a pancake on the side and it was a ton of food. My only small complaint is that I was upcharged for the fruit and wasn't told that would be the case when it was offered as my only substitute for the meat. Other than that though, all was great. Everything tasted really good, especially the biscuit and the pancake. The jam bar with the different butter and jam options was great too! My friend ordered one of the biscuit sandwiches with bacon and a side of potatoes with fresh orange juice and really enjoyed everything as well. I will be back for sure. Guess who's back? Back again! IYKYK. I had to check out the new Vicious Biscuit in Akron,Ohio! Last year, I visited and reviewed the location in NC. Consistency is what they are doing! I ordered the exact same items to compare between the two locations and everything was just as delicious as I remembered. I had The Mater biscuit and Jalapeño Cheddar hush puppies. The Mater is a large golden lightly buttered and flaky biscuit topped with caramelized onion and bacon jam and pimento cheese and lightly breaded crispy on the outside tender on the inside fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes are cooked to perfection not mushy or overly soft. They have a light crunch followed by that seasoned tender tomato. The bacon jam and pimento combo is a perfect balance of sweet and savory in each bite. I highly recommend a knife and fork. The hush puppies are fried to a golden brown and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not spicy from the jalapeño at all. The Skully sauce is nice for dipping. Do you want to know what I suggest? I recommend that you use some of the extra pimento cheese from your Maters and spread it onto your jalapeño cheddar hush puppies. Thank me later. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We went on a Saturday around 12:30pm and they were busy but they were efficiently serving everyone and tables were available right away. Vicious Biscuits can host a small party in their semi private room and they have tables that can seat larger parties . It's a great brunch spot or a place you can enjoy a delicious breakfast in a fun and casual atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. The hush puppies are $7, The Mater is $10,The Fried Green Maters are 9.59 and The shrimp and grits my friend ordered are $16.50. I want a Body By Biscuit T shirt so I can wear it to the gym. Lol.
