Is the bartender doing shots with the customers every time you go there? Are they completely out of or missing a key ingredient to what you would like to eat? Did the cook just scratch himself and then walk into the back and start balling up the meat for your hamburger? If you answered yes to these questions, there is a possibility that you are at Vick's Club 29. The first time I went in there, we ordered a pizza. Well, they were out of the ingredients to make a pizza, but the waitress did run in back and find a small frozen pepperoni pizza in the back. -"I can make this for you if you want." -"OK, we'll take two of them." -"We only have one." A few minutes later, she came back and said "I found this taco pizza in the freezer." Considering the first frozen pizza was a small, I would consider this one a "tiny." We were very hungry and since it was either a small pepperoni pizza and a tiny taco pizza or nothing at all, we ordered both of them. "I can only cook one at a time though. The oven is not big enough for both of them." They must only have one easy bake oven in the back. The next time we were there, the waitress was much more interested in drinking bright blue shots with the customers at the bar than seeing if we were interested in anything to eat or drink. When she finally sauntered over, I ordered a steak sandwich. There was an option to add peppers and onions to it, which would add to the price. I decided to go with all of the fixings. A half an hour later, the cook came over and dropped a plain meat sandwich in front of me. "Do you have any peppers or onions?" I asked. "No, we're out." he said as he walked away. I guess it would have been nice to know that ahead of time, or even at all. Maybe he and the waitress just thought I might not notice. Don't worry, they didn't forget to charge me extra for the peppers and onions. The people at the table next to me placed their order... but, they were out of the ingredients, so they had to guess again. There hasn't been one time we have been there where the waitress and bartender were not doing shots during their shift. Receiving some type of food within 35 minutes of ordering is considered very speedy. Yesterday, my friend spent a good part of the night puking up his hamburger. If I go back to eat there again, it will be purely to add another story to this review. Otherwise, it may just be safer to go there and observe. August 2012 Update: Well, I have been back to Vick's Club 29 quite a few times since my last review. Don't worry... I did not eat anything. Each time I have just visited, hung out, and observed... and every time I leave, I am happy that I made that decision. A few of things I have observed since my last review: The bartender serving food... with an open can of beer in her hand at all times. A different afternoon.... the bartender was fall down drunk trying to convince a guy at the bar to buy her another beer for the road. If you would like some lemon in your drink... don't worry, they have been out of lemons every time I have seen someone attempt to order one. October 2012 Update: Today I was at the 29 club. I was very hungry and quite tempted to order some food. All I had to do was observe the staff for a little while and that temptation vanished quickly. While I was there, the cook desperately needed to take a smoke break before he prepared the next order. When he was outside smoking, the bartender rang up an order, gave the man his change, and went straight back into the kitchen to prepare the order with her unwashed, bare hands. In between flipping a burger or two, she made sure to run her fingers through her hair a few times before grabbing the buns from the bag. By this time, smoke break was over for the cook. He put his phone back into his pocket and dug right into the next burger and bag of buns with his bare hands... yes he walked right by the sink without a second thought. Next order... onion rings! He grabs a bare handful of the rings... makes sure to cough on them a couple of times and throws them on a plate. Yum! PS. If you are hungry for some fries or tots, they are out of both. read more

Vicks 29 is a great place to stop into for a drink after work, or on a day off. The atmosphere is very laid back, the patrons are respectful, and the service kicks ass. Bartenders here are very personable, and take care of you're needs. I've spent some time here, and have always had an excellent experience. I've posted some pictures of the great drinks, and food they serve up. My favorite other than the sampler appetizer would be the BLT. So if you're in the area, check it out. You just might catch me there. read more

Food is good but they seem to always be out of ingredients. they don't wash their hands before they prepare the food, fucking gross. And the restroom has no stalls just one toilet so everyone in the restroom can see you drop a Duce. The service is kinda slow but not bad. read more

Well I think they may have gotten rid of the " troublemakers" since the last person posted his review. I was in Vicks on Saturday and had the BEST burger called the 29 mile burger. DELICIOUS. The male bartender gave EXCELLENT service. Prompt with our drink and food order. He was very friendly and polite. I did not have any trouble with items being out of stock. The cook was very efficient with delivering our food. He was well groomed and polite. I've been coming to this establishment for several months now. I work close by and is very convenient for me to stop in and grab a bite to eat. One should come to understand that this business is an isolated location and do not have the perks of a business in the city may have. Just something to keep in mind when they just so happen to be out of stock of a certain item. I would highly recommend you to stop by for an ice cold beverage and a bite to eat. Things obviously have changed and for the better. Nice place to meet friendly new people and to have a relaxing good time. read more

I am a burger snob. Every big city I go to, I look for the best burger places and try them. Living in williston, I have yet to find a burger that isn't dry, overcooked, and ridiculously priced (I'm looking at you outlaws and williston brewing company). I never get burgers in this town. Upon recommendations from a few friends, I wanted to try Vicks 29 club, more commonly called 29 mile bar. Went there around 8 on a Friday night. The place was empty, probably because it was so early still. I got a cheeseburger and added bacon, pickles and tomatoes as well as the buffalo chips. I have to say for a bar in the middle of nowhere, this burger was near the top of the list of my many burger experiences. Delicious! Finally a burger that isn't dry and flavorless. I'm already dying to go back, it was so good. The buffalo chips are something I've had before at jdubs in williston, but they're always good. The service was great too! For around 15 bucks a burger with everything added, it's way cheaper than anywhere in williston and worth the 30 minute drive. I'll be making Friday night stops there more often! read more
