Beechwood used the wrong material for some of the project (which was a cheaper material than what…read morewe had paid for, and we had to pay a huge amount upfront) and suggested it was worth a try. We found out about it purely by chance and received no apology. They fixed it but it caused huge delays, and even with the right material, the finish is awful with large and uneven gaps. They have caused us enormous stress and difficulty, have had a bad attitude even though we are their clients, and communication has been poor. I only hope we can get it fixed soon and move on with our lives.

*BEWARE, DO NOT USE!* Unfortunately, I have hired these guys on several projects only to find out…read morethat their products faulty, ware not delivered on time, in a horrible state in many instances where they had to be redone - multiple times! The office manager - Milena will want to charge you for every single little thing and not to mention that the sealers for the concrete that they are using will not protect against literally anything that the surface touches. Oh yes, and "the best thing" is, they are not a legitimate company, they operate as a sole trader so do not expect any guarantee and every problem that you will have will be referred to unbeatable, holy Terms And Conditions. We/You as a customer mean only a number to these people. I would stay away from them as far away as I can!!!

Initially they sound the business, however, they're not as slick as they sound. Very dissapointed…read morewith their service, attitude and product quality. They were the cheapest from 5 companies I've got a quote from, NO WONDER WHY. At first they sound polite but once they have your monies they don't care about you, was trying to find their company BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THEY WORK AS A SOLE TRADER, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OR ANYTHING APART FROM SCREWING OVER PEOPLE. I did some digging and it looks like tons of people went ahead with this guys and now there is another company that has to fix all of their bull****. WHY DON'T YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS? YOU HAVE RUINED ENOUGH PEOPLE. I have hired another concrete company to re-make a £7000 kitchen which STONE WORKTOPS HAVE MESSED UP, I will update the review once A PROPER COMPANY WILL TAKE CARE OF IT. SO BASICALLY DON'T USE THIS COMPANY AS YOU WILL GET SCREWED OVER, I WILL PUT A CLAIM ON THEM TO RECOVER ALL MY COSTS.

Had a floor repaitred by Magicman and it has now failed…read more Contacted Magicman and they want to charge again bearing in mind it had only been 6 months since the initial repair. No customer service whats so ever and it took them a month to get back to us with their decision. Poor company to deal with and workmanship clearly not adequate. I would avoid at all costs and use another company.

My builder got Magicman in less than a year ago to repair various areas that had been damaged…read more Some repairs were ok, and done quickly, but arguably the most important one - the shower tray in the master bathroom - has developed into a mess. Magicman is now saying that due to the lapse of time, it's nothing to do with their repair, it's a chemical reaction to cleaning products and they are washing their hands of it! I was left no aftercare instructions, and in any case, a repair to a shower tray should surely be fit for purpose, ie able to withstand normal (in this case, very light) use and occasional cleaning products? And last for a great deal longer than under a year. It seems they don't even guarantee their work for 12 months. Whilst the repair looked ok at the time, I now have two large, yellowing, rough patches, about 15cm (6") round, where Magicman struggled to effect repairs to marks that were no more than 2.5cm (1"). The technician Magicman sent was very young and had only been with the company a short time. I believe he has now left the company. He took forever to do these particular repairs, having whizzed around the others - he was here working on it for ages, kept trying different things, and the area he was working on kept expanding with his efforts, which was a bit surprising, but at the time it seemed ok when he'd finished. Little did I know how it would degrade - with even light use. I expect Magicman will reply to this post defensively, as has been the tone of their emails to me, but there really is absolutely no defence. A shower tray repair should be able to cope with normal cleaning products and last just as long as the tray itself. Repairs I've had done in previous years by other, similar companies, remained perfect over time. Things do go wrong, that's just life, but customer service is all about the manner in which problems get put right. Magicman (so far) scores a bit fat zero for that. Reading some of the reviews online elsewhere, it's probably not surprising. I'll update this review accordingly if Magicman does the right thing and gets the repair done properly. Otherwise I'll also be onto Trading Standards, as outfits like Magicman should be responsible enough to effect repairs that are robust, and either put them right, or be held to account, when they go wrong. In the meantime, I would strongly advise others to avoid using Magicman, or at least approach with caution.
