Not recommended! Food is not fresh even the chef try cook well. It is not original Chinese food if you are looking for real Chinese flavor. Waitress asked why leave no tip due to the card machine touch screen sensitivity and end up leave cash for tip. Never seen Chinese asked for tips!!! read more

We drove from Calgary all the way to Vancouver, and stopped at Kamloops on the Christmas night. We knew Chinese restaurants might be the only place open on Christmas so we went here. The food is amazingly great and much much better than our expectations, especially the spicy beef and green beans. read more

I've been missing for some time now. Will try to post more reviews from now on. This restaurant is the safest place for good Chinese food. I've tried their dim sum menu, most of things I have tried are good quality. I've tried BBQ pork buns, rice noodles with soy sauce, house fried noodles, BBQ pork fried rice, and more. I must say their BBQ pork buns in the dim sum menu are one of the best I've tried. And I have eaten alot of dim sum in my life. Toronto, California Hong Kong etc. This is one of the best BBQ pork buns I've had, hands down. If you are into chili oil, go ahead try their chili oil, it's one of the best I've had. Long story short in Kamloops where there are not choices this is a safe bet to get some decent Chinese food. read more

We had a quick stop for lunch on our way to Vancouver and this place sounded nice. I was interested in trying their green onion pancake. It wasn't my favourite because it seemed overly fried. Yes I guess I'm a green onion pancake snob. Their spring rolls were delicious as were their shrimp dumplings. Really good! We also ordered their vegetable lo main with prawns. She asked if I wanted soft or crispy noodles and I chose to be daredevil Amanda and go with crispy. Definitely not what I expected to get it but was a lovely surprise! They were crunchy but enough sauce was at the bottom at it slowly softened them. So much food! read more

I'm pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Was not expecting to be blown away by the Chinese food in Kamloops, but this restaurant has some awesome chefs in the back! Even by Vancouver standards this is good. One star deduction for the weak A/C, we came here on a day that was 42 degrees Celsius, it felt the same inside as outside and we were all sweating throughout our meal. Oh man, this is seriously good Chinese. The chicken balls are huge and solid white meat...the rice was fluffy...the noodles weren't greasy...and the sweet and sour sauce came on the side instead of the food drowning in it like other places in town. Yummmmmmmm. read more

Didn't expect much from such a small restaurant but it was actually pretty decent. We were making our way from Jasper National Park to Vancouver and was in need of a quick lunch. They were really quick and friendly. My mom and I ordered 3 lunch specials, felt very very full afterwards. It can't compete with Chinese restaurants in big cities, but it still taste pretty good. We stopped here for dinner while on our way to Sun Peaks after receiving recommendations from our friends. Needless to say the food was delicious. We ordered 9 dishes and none of them disappointed us!! Portions are big and the flavour is perfect. Not sure if the whole staff and kitchen is different now or what , but last night was disappointing. Not the same food as a year ago at all. The portions were HUGE. The service was fast. They mean well. But, I did not care for the way the food was presented or the taste. I hope it was just a " one off " . I might have to go back to my old stand-by , the Oriental Gardens across from Hotel 540. Just saying . I did think the Won Ton was good, a little watery.... Egg Rolls were crispy. Excellent Dim Sum! My wife and I have been looking for good Dim Sum since we left the lower mainland 13 years ago. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the service was wonderful. The decor was what I'd expect from a small "hole-in-the-wall" Chinese restaurant. I cannot speak highly enough about the food. We will definitely be back. We have eaten here twice now, and it was the same both times - excellent food and outrageously bad service. We had eggplant hotpot, house chow mein and beef and asparagus, all of which were delicious and well prepared. However, it took 15 minutes to get a menu and a further 45 minutes to get our food, and only after complaining forcefully to the server, who we had to go and find, as we hadn't seen her since we ordered. Bear in mind that there were only 4 tables occupied in the whole place! Take-out seems to be their priority, so maybe that's the way to go. After we complained, our food came quickly, but the server verged on surly. We had previously been there for a Chinese New Year dinner with a large group, which was preordered weeks in advance. They seemed to struggle to produce more than one dish for a table at a time. It is unfortunate their organization is so pathetically poor, as their food is the best Chinese in Kamloops. read more

I would have given it negative rating if I could. AVOID THIS PLACE; GO TO ORIENTAL GARDEN RESTAURANT DOWN THE ROAD WHERE WE HAD WAY BETTER SERVICE AND EXCELLENT FOOD. We spent the night at Kamloops in our last trip to Banff. The restaurant was only 1/3 full when we were seated at 6pm. It took the waitress 20 min to give us water and another 10min to take our order. Again the restaurant was only 1/3 full. The problem was that because of their discount policy, the only waitress there spent all this time taking phone orders. After spending another 15min waiting and not seeing our appetizer, we told a lady who seemed to be the manager or owner that if we did not get our food in 10min we would need to move to another place. To which she said :" sure. You can go now". ... The rest I just don't want to revisit in my mind to recount here. BTW, all this time, another table was waiting for their check. Great place to go if you have unlimited time and infinite patience. We stopped in based on the reviews we had seen, and the menu looked awesome. The waitress came to take our drink order after about 5 minutes (and after she took 2 phone orders). We placed our order for a drink and an appetizer, she ran to answer the phone with a promise to return. She did return eventually, without our drinks, and began the lengthy process of taking our order. I began to ask a question, phone rang, off she goes. Back 5 minutes later, no apologies, and we try again...ring, ring...poof! Hubby wants to leave at this point, I am eyeing a noodle dish and want to stay. She returns for attempt #3, I spoke 2 words and she's running for the phone again. (And we never did get our drinks). Broke my heart to walk out of there! After we left and found another place I figured out a strategy for anyone else who gives this place a shot...call in your order from your table, you'll get preferential treatment that way. read more
