I simply cannot express how my position within this company has enriched MY life! I'm a successful business owner of 27 years - stepping into a role, for what I felt very needed as personal "therapy" - I knew that it was time for me to give... because I have been given so many Blessings over the years. I also recognized the hand of God in doing so! I accepted a position with Americare knowing that in the health care industry, it's about care and nurturing - that I would be drastically - financially stepping back - but I was guided and encouraged by a much higher being than my pride. This position allowed me to love these grandmas/grandpas/mothers/fathers with more passion than I can ever explain. These "Friends" of ours - who I felt I was there to provide them with love, care & companionship not only provided me with what was missing in my life - but also provided me with great insight as to what is most important! In caring for our "Friends" it has absolutely been THE most fulfilling and rewarding position that I could have ever stepped into. When you sincerely look into a "Friends" eyes, and they immediately know to trust and love back - it's astounding! It's Beautiful! Just as Beautiful as they are! They struggle with daily activities that we take for granted. They just want loving hands, guidance and joy! My life has turned in a different direction - I've returned to my personal company, but I thank God every day for placing me in a role such as the role at The Arbors. I will forever be grateful and now know the full meaning of true loving health care. This is 1 of the many letters I received from Family Members: My father and I have had the experience with both Victorian Place and The Arbors. My father began his journey in his early stages of dementia at Victorian Place, the Assisted Living building on the campus. He had a stroke shortly after his stay there, lending a big decline in his memory. We quickly realized The Arbors would be a better fit. While living at Victorian Place, the Administrator, the Nurse and the staff were nothing shy of professional at all times. The Arbors lends the exact same professionalism, plus a staff that gears their attention to the personal needs of each "Friend" as they call their residents. They realize with dementia that every person requires a different approach to their care. I quickly realized that people with dementia are uncooperative and resistant to daily activities - bathing - dressing, and eating. I've seen residents reel out control, and confused by what they are asked of. The staff breaks each task into steps and, in a reassuring voice, explain each step before they do it. You see the compassion each of the CMA's have for the "Friends". When my father moved in, we filled out a "life story"... this is to help the staff communicate or divert my father if needed. With the staff knowing and using this, it makes him much more comfortable through the day. This Memory Care setting was difficult for me to be around at first. There is a lot of stimulation, and many different "personalities" from each of the residents, but I've grown to realize it's the disease. And I now know this company puts a different spin on how they take care of families. Their "best friend" approach helps me and my family in knowing they provide care encircled around my fathers and other family members parents past, not just for generic responses. My family and I are very happy with our choice here. It's very comforting after visiting, knowing that dad will be cared for with great attention.

This place is a total rip off! They charge assisted living prices yet only give the bare minimum!…read more Everything is ala carte. If your parent needs to see a nurse, they charge extra. If your parent needs help getting back to their apartment, they charge extra. Parents need to take the shuttle to go to a doctors appointment, pharmacy or grocery store? The shuttle runs on VERY limited hours. They are only in it for the money and don't give a crap about the residents! New director has totally ruined this place!

If she needs help, she can request assistance and while it costs, the prices are very reasonable. The staff and owners are fabulous. This isn't some mega-corporation more interest in money than the life of the residents. I feel at ease knowing mom is in good hands.
