Stopped by for the first time and enjoyed it! I order Victors Chicken and Gyros plate. The chicken was cooked very well imo. It was cooked through but still moist, not over cooked like so many other places (understandably I guess). The gyro was also tasty and not overdone. Both were seasoned well and had good flavor. Plate came with pita, rice and a side salad, no complaints on any of it. My buddies got fries instead of the side salad and really enjoyed them. Service was fast and friendly, counter service so can't speak for much other than that. It's a relatively small establishment but there are benches outside to enjoy your meal, as long as weather permits of course.

Victor's Kafe serve a variety of protein choices here with their combos. They have lamb, beef, chicken, salmon and vegetarian options. I'm always greeted by George and his staffs when I walk in. The facility is always clean and they have a fountain drinks selection to quench your thirst. My favorite is The Spicy Gyro Sandwich combo which I get with fries and salad. Their dipping sauce is to die for I love it. Everything is fresh and tasty. If you like hummus and pita bread, add that to your meal. Overall it's always a great experience and please try their gyro sandwich.

This spot was delicious! The chef was super nice and gave me the rec to try the spicy gyro plate! Food was very flavorful and delicious and large portions for the price! Rice was a tiny bit salty but the sauce made it balance out! Overall great experience and friendly staff!!

Great front line service and fast food prep times. My opinion is the amount of meat included for an $10 plate is lacking which led the 4 stars. The spicy gyro plate is amazing, rice is good and the salad tasted fresh. Over all a great spot for really good food. I have visited Victor's for years! The food and service are just as good now as it was back in 2009 when I first came in for lunch. This simple shop dishing good grub quickly became a fan favorite amongst my co-workers and still gets packed during lunchtime. Here is why I like this joint: - It's family-owned - It's family-operated - The food is good - Prices are reasonable - Did I mention the food is good? Victor himself took my order this afternoon. You can usually find his sons (or are they his grandsons?) working the grill. This casual restaurant is in a small shopping plaza that is mostly occupied by restaurants. Just follow your nose when you pull into the parking lot and you will find Victor's. Just like when I first visited years ago (insert nostalgia here), my food is prepared to order. I ordered "The Pepper" with chicken (steak is the other option) and made it a combo with fries and a side salad. The chicken in my pita sammie was well-marinated and every bite was juicy from start to finish. I speak from personal experience when I warn you to be careful or you WILL be wearing those juices. Victor and the crew are friendly. You are greeted when you come in and when you leave, like you're visiting an old friend for a meal. So if you're in Poway stop in for a bite. Or if you're in Rancho Bernardo hit up the other Victor's Kafe where I often see Victor overseeing things. You can't go wrong either way! Middle-eastern / Mediterranean fare at reasonable rates. Gyros in a pita, gyros not in a pita, chicken, chicken and gyros, etc. I had the chicken and gyros plate, and thought it was a decent if somewhat plain meal. The gyros meat is not high quality - it's a ground mix. The chicken is good, tasty and feels healthy. It's quite small inside, so don't plan on eating there unless you're in a bind. It's pretty narrow so it's not easy to find a space to stand and wait for your food. This place can build up a little bit of a wait during peak hours (lunch), so I recommend timing it to avoid the lunch rush. Alternatively, call in your order. I saw a few people doing that and thought I might do that next time. This place shines as a to-go lunch spot for locals who work in the area. Call it in 15 - 20 min in advance to avoid the wait, and get a nice healthy meal at a good price!

Victor's Kafe is a bustling eatery in Poway. Ive been several times and the food is consistently good. My goto is the chicken and gyro platter. But you can order wraps and salads too! Victor's is a great place to get fresh and healthy food that is prepared as you wait. You can order ahead, as well. You may want to anyhow because seating is pretty limited. I'll definitely be back!

I go here all the time for lunch--food is amazing. All of the guys working here are sooooo nice and if you have been there enough times they'll remember your name and your order (if you're into getting the same dish a lot). The chicken salad is out of this world, as is the sirloin kebab and feta fries. Really really great Greek food!! read more

Pretty good for a fast lunch. It's by my office and they do pick up orders although it gets pretty packed during lunch hour. I sneak in around 11:40 before the rush. I get the gyro plate with no onions because they do use a lot of onions. I also really like the falafel. read more

I found the food to be delicious! I had the chicken combo plate, the chicken was moist and had a faulous flavor. As usual, it was more food than I could eat. I ate in the restaurant, most people seem to take out. The atmosphere is not at all glamorous or fancy, but it was clean. The staff was very friendly and made excellent suggestions. I work by Victors and probably eat here once a week. The Gryo meat is so good! The workers are super nice as well. The only down side is at lunch time it gets pretty crowded, but I guess this is actually a good thing because the food tastes so great!! read more

The food here is outstanding. Our company uses Victors Kafe to cater our company lunches at least once a month. The chicken and gyros are always juicy and delicious. The salads are fresh, and the red-pepper hummus is awesome. The service is great as well, we call in the morning and they have it delivered on time ready to serve 26 hungry people. read more

I found this Spot on You Eat San Diego a Page on Instagram. And I just had to spot in and check it out based on the picture I seen. I had the Spicy Beef Gyro and Hummus with feta cheese and red Onions as a lil snack for later. And Man was I was Extremely impressed with the quality of Steak the Service all of the Guys were great!!! Spoke to me right upon entering Supreme customer service!! I showed them the pic I seen online and they knew exactly what I wanted ohh man the best Gyro I've had this far!! And I have just moved Back to SD from the East Coast where some of the Best in the States are made. I highly recommend this spot for some good eats!! Full of flavor. Great quality of meats. Great customer service friendly guys. Most def gonna make this my spot at least weekly until my Body can't tKe the calories and then I will get the Greek Salad!!! read more

I like the Greek gyros here better than Daphene's down the road. They give you a large portion to eat and I especially like the french fries as well. The place is crowded at lunch time so I try to come when it is not so busy. I also like the pictures of the menu items displayed on the wall so I can see what I will be getting. Overall one of my more favorite places to eat in Poway. read more

I used to love this place because the food is good, but I will never go back again. Victor's is close to our office so I would order delivery regularly, but the service I received today was horrible. When I called in the order, the person who took the order and payment was very confused by the credit card information. When it came to the expiration date, he asked me multiple times what it was and then asked, "what number is November?" I can only assume he typed it in incorrectly, as the credit card company placed a hold on my card. He then proceeded to try again until another employee screamed in the background, "Dude, the card is declined! She doesn't have any money, bro!" Very unprofessional and completely untrue. When I checked with my credit card, it was flagged as suspicious since there were 8 attempts to charge the card. I cleared it and called back to place the order and they said they were busy and placed me on hold for an excessive amount of time. A coworker tried calling and when they found out they were in the same office, they didn't take the order from her either. We ended up getting lunch from Papa Duke's in Poway and it was delicious and had excellent service. Victors has just lost a long time regular. read more

Got the Ultimate Salad spicy and wasn't sure what to expect but it was defreakinglicious. For almost $12 I thought it was pricey for the portion. To be fair they did give a good amount of meat, but not enough greens to go with it. Still I will definitely be back! read more

Victors offers fresh, flavorful Mediterranean staples at reasonable prices. Portions are generous and tastes far better than chains such as Daphnes. Makes me glad I work right around the corner. My favorites include chicken shawarma (among the best I've ever had), grilled chicken and rice pilaf. The cilantro aioli is to die for! The guys here are the best. I'm often here 2 or 3 times a week and never tire of great food and friendly service. There's a reason there is often a line out the door but they keep it moving. Well worth a small wait. read more

"These guys know how to cook!" I'm thinking as I scarf down my last bite. I seriously can't shove it in my face fast enough. Delicious, good portions, the hands-down best hummus in SD. The only two bad things about this place: the side salads are weak, and they try to guilt you into tipping them as much as you would at a place where you have sit down service when all you're doing is picking it up to go. If you want more money for the food, just charge more. I don't think people should have to tip just for cooking the food. Seriously. What, are we going to start tipping McDs cooks next? Tip the guy at the movie theater because the popcorn is so good? Love the food but the "tip us for doing our jobs" attitude makes me not want to go there as much. TOTALY SUCKS!!!!! Called in an order. Told 20 minutes, got there they said they never received the order. I have a 30 minute lunch and do not have time for them to correct THEIR error. My husband placed the order AGAIN anyways. Waited another 20 minutes in the car seething!!!! When we finally got the order gyros plate, caesar salad and spanakopita it was cold and tasteless. And NO utensils??? Give me a break!!! Will NEVER go there again and will NEVER recommend them. read more

I love this place!! Their spicy gyros are amazing and I love the salad dressing. I found out last time that they sell it by the bottle!! The prices are fair and the service is good. It's usually pretty busy at lunch during the work week, so I always call ahead to avoid waiting. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Victor N.

Victor came to America with one vision, to open his own business. After saving up enough money, Victor moved to Syracuse, New York where he finally opened his first successful work-station and snow-shoveling service. In 1995, Victor decided to get away from the life of shoveling snow and moved to San Diego. One year later he and his wife opened up their first Greek and Mediterranean restaurant, sharing with the community some of the great traditional food he has grown to love. At Victor's Kafe, we're striving to bring you authentic tastes from different regions of the Mediterrranean and the Mid-East using traditional and healthy ingredients.

Would you like some meat for your rice?…read more Tucked away in the same shopping center as Sprouts in Poway is Baba Kabob. The interior doesn't have any seating and looks more like a small market on the inside, with the front counter where you can place your order. There is a few seats outside on the shaded patio. Service has been a relatively whatever experience, I place my order on the phone and get a pretty simple response and timeframe. Even though the timeframe they provide is 10-15 minutes I still end up waiting longer (about 5-10 mins extra) before my order is ready to go so something to consider if you're on a crunch. The food itself, admittedly, tastes good. On the other end, however, the portions to price ratio is kind of bad in my opinion. Nearly $26 for a mostly full plate of rice with a couple pieces of kabob/meat and a side spring salad isn't really worth it. I tried putting off my review for a bit just to see after a few visits if the portions would change from plate to plate but it's pretty consistently about the same as well as a sorta poor presentation in comparison to some other photos and reviews I've seen of the place. I usually get the beef kabob plate. Might come back here to try out the food again, but it's really overpriced for what it is so to me it isn't worth it.

As for the chicken with cashews and the kung pao chicken, both dishes tasted very similar due to the same brown sauce, which unfortunately lacked depth and flavor. Other than that - easy and open parking. There was only one other table there when we arrived, so got seated immediately. We got Thai tea, dumplings, Thai fried chicken, and drunken noodles. All were okay with the exception of drunken noodles that were unbearable for me to eat.

I have been eating at this place for three years and never get sick of it. My favorite is the number 11, chicken, rice, salad, and bread but everything is good. The spanakopita is awesome!!! When I was pregnant I ate it almost everyday and still cant get enough of it. This place is family owned and operated. The owner Victor and his son George are very friendly and go out of their way to make you happy. George always knows your order by heart. He knows you by what you order. Im the number 11 with extra peppercinis!! Not to mention he looks just as good as the food.... Since they are Jordanian they also have great home-made middle eastern items, such as falafel, tabouli, and hummus. Victors wife makes the baklava home-made daily which is to die for!!!! This is a great greek fast food place. The eating area is rather cramped around lunch time so it is better to order the food as a take out. You can tell that the owners are Greek so that always helps versus a chain like Daphne's. I always get the Gyro and fries. meal it is the best. The parking can be a problem at lunch time to but oh well. If you want great greek food for lunch you can't go wrong by eating here. I really should branch out and try something else but I love the Gyros to much. read more
