I am not sure if was the chickens that greeted me, the beautiful gallery, or the hospitality of Vivian and Walter Neill that made me never want to leave. Vivian worked tirelessly with us to orchestrate the shower, which was much needed since we were planning from our homes in Minnesota, Massachusetts and Maine. She was a source book of knowledge and wealth of support. The day of the event, Walter and Vivian could not have been more helpful. Our guests were astounded by the venue, all who came commented upon the uniqueness. I would highly recommend OTH as a venue for special events.

There were limited tables and benches, but these were in use because of the sell out. Seats were higher priced than I would've imagined for college baseball at $30-$40 for general admission tickets. 1 night stay. The…read morecheck-in was smooth and super welcoming. Everything I expected of southern hospitality. The hotel has a really elevated, old-school vibe. Loved Nightbird, the speakeasy, which despite my friend's instructions truly was a bit confounding to find. Precisely how a speakeasy should be! The rooms are also well appointed, and I loved the reusable glass bottles in the room with both cold sparkling and still water dispensers. But there were also a few issues with my stay. There is no gym on site, which was a bummer. My room also wasn't cleaned thoroughly. I found three hairpins on the ground. The toiletries are nice, though the shampoo scent is decidedly woodsy and perhaps nice to some but oddly leathery to me. Not what I normally expect of a pleasant scent. Finally, and probably worst of all, the connecting doors between rooms are the complete opposite of noise-proof. At around 10pm, I was treated to quite the orgasmic show by a couple next door. To make matters worse, the conversation after sex was so crisp and clear, it was as though they were speaking right to me. How icky to hear that the man was married, and the girl he was with clearly not his wife. I heard them about to head out of the room and nosily peered through my peephole to see a guy probably in his 30s or 40s in gym shorts and a hoodie saying bye to a young girl all decked out in a short mini dress and heels. Although no option is good, I hope she was perhaps a college girl and not an escort, as the latter would be a major turnoff to have that sort of thing going on in the hotel. The thinness of the connecting doors needs to be addressed! While it was icky to hear what I heard, I imagine it would also be quite compromising if you had a private business call. Who knows who's on the other side of the wall!

First off - the location as it relates to the square and the campus cannot be beat. You walk out the front door and you're essentially on the square. We were there on a weekend and the parking was a little chaotic and left few if any spots - which was frustrating - but that is accurate of Oxford almost anywhere on a weekend (traffic, parking). The parking lot is safe and I felt fine leaving my vehicle there. Parking is $15/day. The staff is top notch. I was greeted by all staff and they were professional, friendly, and accommodating. You should feel like a "guest" at a hotel, and they accomplish that. The lobby is very welcoming and a nice place to hang out - whether you're people watching, drinking coffee, or working. Lots of tables, chairs, outlets, etc. They have a coffee shop/bistro downstairs, as well as a rooftop restaurant/bar upstairs. We patronized both and they were both good - especially by hotel standards. Our room was both "boutique'y" and modern, which I liked. All the room amenities you'd want and expect. I guess if I had to offer a downside for the room - they did not offer online/streaming tv, just cable, but that is getting pretty nit-picky and we weren't in our room that much to need it. The prices of this hotel (and essentially all in Oxford) fluctuate drastically depending on the day/weekend. On a high volume weekend I suspect this hotel would be incredibly expensive. Every team member ( front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, restaurant worker, etc...) that came within close proximity greeted me with a smile and a hello. Clean facility and clean well maintained room. The carpet boasted Archie and Eli's football jerseys. Great location that was steps away from the square. They have lots of breakfast and coffee options in the restaurant. The avocado toast was a good selection. There is a roof top bar/restaurant which I did not visit. Stay here if you are visiting Oxford. I know I will if my travels bring through here again.
