It's my third visit here, and honestly, every time we're in the area, we make it a point to stop by for their burritos. I usually go for the carne asada burrito--it's consistently flavorful and satisfying. Service has always been great, and the ambiance is pretty casual, similar to a fast-food spot--nothing fancy, but comfortable enough for a quick bite. This time, I decided to switch things up and tried the tuna melt and the gyro wrap. Both were surprisingly delicious and definitely worth ordering again. It's nice to know they do more than just burritos well!

I ordered the fried chicken for lunch before going to work. It's four pieces with fries, onion rings, rolls, and a salad. The salad came first, and it was good sized. The hot items came later. This was a really good meal for the price. The only problem was the chicken was overcooked. The service was great. I liked all the photos of war planes, and the one hanging from the ceiling.

Victory Diner is located off Main St and W Culver Ave in Orange within walking distance of CHOC - Orange and St. Joseph's Hospital. Looks like a WWII themed diner with a really cool model airplane hanging from the ceiling, model ship, and old warplane pictures on the upper sun room windows. They serve up a combo of American and mexican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The diner's clean and the staff is friendly with smiles. You can order from a kiosk, at the counter, or drive-thru. They have a couple banks of soda fountains with Coke products and Pibb Xtra as well as a couple sets each of regular and decaf coffee. The breakfast burrito was good size and tasted good too. Didn't take very long for it to be made and was delivered right to my table. Looking at others food being delivered, the portion sizes seem to be on the medium to larger side, they don't skimp here. Lastly, my final observations, they still have covid glass still up between tables which I'm assuming are for germs and stuff, but they allowed a street vendor to go from table to table trying to sell stuff, putting her bag and merch on customers tables . Also, the staff seemed to know her since they were talking to her and allowed it. Just an observation during my visit, that's all. All in all, foods good, oh and it's very reasonable too!!

You know it's a chill place with them letting us walk through the drive through

Giving them a big shout out. We needed something open late after 2 AM. One of the few things you can find around and the menu that's crazy. You could order everything for breakfast to hotdog to burgers fries whatever your heart's feeling you can order. Guy took care of us even helped us customize our drinks. We thought the dining room was open, but it wasn't. So we walked around to the menu at the drive-through to look at it and he offered us to go ahead and walk on through instead of having to pull our car up. Grabbed a breakfast burrito with bacon. Loved it maybe this salsa would be my one down point. My friends picked up French toast, which they said was excellent and her hot dog for a good mix which they also enjoyed.

Service was good, very busy place and crowded. It took a while for us to find a table. But the lady cleaning was super nice and as soon as she found a bigger table to accommodate me and my two kids. She asked us to sit down. I don't remember her name but very nice person. The breakfast burritos were big, my breakfast sandwich with sausage was OK. I thought they used patties, but it was sliced up links with lettuce and tomato and mayonnaise. Not bad. I would definitely try something else. Next time I go.

Lettuce was wet & dripping all over. I've driven by this place for years. Thought I'd give it a try but I will NEVER go back

Disgusting! Soaking wet lettuce & tasted gross. I will NEVER come back. I've driven by this place for years & thought I'd give it a try. Gross!!

    This is delicious!

This is your basic independent Burger joint with a little bit more flair. They have all-day breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, Mexican food as well as dinner platters. The unique thing about victory diner is it is in an airplane motif. Lots of pictures on the wall from world war II of old bomber planes and fighter planes as well as various heroic aviation pilots of that generation. They also have a huge fighter plane dangling from the ceiling so that's cool. I went with the gyro platter, which was massive and good. They bring you out a side salad which is big enough for two people. Tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese croutons okay all good. Then comes the platter with fries, some onion rings and then a hearty and delicious gyro. The onion rings have definite potential. I think these had been sitting around so it had gotten a little soggy, but the crust was of the proper consistency. Good fries and delicious food. I will be back when I'm in the area.

Initially, I walked…read moreinto the establishment thinking it was going to be another "fast food burger joint" but walked out craving another burger. The ambiance is minimalistic with a few tables along the wall and a long window table for solo eaters. However, the owner/cook are super friendly and accommodating. I ordered the signature and the double burger meal (w/ loaded fries). First off, the loaded fries is one of the best. It doesn't aesthetically look "all that," but it just HITS. The jalapeños and grilled onions balance out the cheese and bacon. As for the signature burger, the crispy cheese was a great complement to the perfectly seasoned patties. The texture of the cheese was just right: a nice balance of almost crispy but also gooey with a small cheese pull. Perfection. I haven't had a good smash burger in OC for a while, so this was a pleasant surprise. The establishment is located within a plaza, so parking can get a bit difficult when busy, but I came in on a Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of spaces available. I will definitely be back. I ordered their Signature Smash Burger meal, hoping it would showcase what the restaurant is known for. However, the burger did not resemble the menu photos. As shown in the attached pictures, the patties were very thin, overcooked, burnt, and dry. The burger lacked flavor and was far from the satisfying burger Smashburger advertises. The bun was also noticeably crushed and flattened, giving a careless presentation. While appearance isn't everything, it didn't help when the taste was equally disappointing. The overall dining experience was not much better. Only two of us dined in, with no other customers inside. Although several to-go orders were being prepared, our food still took longer than expected. The atmosphere was less enjoyable than I had hoped. Staff members were quite loud in the kitchen, and an employee sat next to our table, speaking loudly on a phone call for an extended period, making it hard to enjoy the meal. I'm sharing this feedback hoping management will address these issues. The meal did not reflect the quality I expect from a restaurant that prides itself on its food. For the price, customers deserve food and service that match the advertised quality.

Mine came with sliced avocado (pretty much half of an avocado) which was ripe, smooth and creamy. It also came with crunchy onion strings and their special Topa Topa sauce and of course some kewpie mayo and shredded cabbage. The cabbage was super crunchy and fresh. The buns were super soft and toasted perfectly. The fries were alright. The Okonamiyaki style was unique and the toppings were tasty. My Dr Pepper was a little too sweet, maybe it was more syrup than carbonated water. Overall the burgers here were great! I also got an order for my boyfriend later that night. I wanted to share some comprehensive feedback regarding a recent experience, aiming to highlight both your successes and areas where further refinement could elevate the customer journey even further. First and foremost, I must commend your team for their exceptional warmth and hospitality. From my initial phone call to the moment I picked up my order, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. This level of customer service, which often feels lacking in many establishments today, truly sets American Grub apart. It creates a welcoming atmosphere that significantly enhances the overall experience, and I sincerely hope this commitment to friendliness remains a cornerstone of your operation. However, I encountered a couple of points that, in my personal opinion, warrant consideration for improvement. Regarding the payment process, I felt a degree of apprehension about providing my credit card details over the phone. While I understand the operational need to secure orders and prevent potential losses, particularly for larger transactions, for a single item like my bacon cheeseburger, priced at $17.24 including tax, this practice felt somewhat disproportionate. I also noted the 99-cent fee for online payments, which, while minor, might deter some customers who are seeking convenience without additional charges. Perhaps exploring alternative secure payment links for phone orders or adjusting the fee structure for smaller transactions could enhance customer comfort and streamline the process. My primary concern, however, arose upon returning home. Despite ordering a bacon cheeseburger, I discovered the burger completely lacked bacon, as well as any form of sauce or mayonnaise. This oversight had a significant impact on the meal; the absence of these core components rendered the burger quite bland and far from the experience I had anticipated. When ordering a single item, the expectation for meticulous attention to detail is particularly high, as there are fewer variables. Consequently, the overall value of the meal, given the missing ingredients, was not quite met on this occasion. I did reach out to the owner privately via email to discuss these points, and I appreciate their responsiveness and transparency in addressing my feedback, particularly concerning the rationale behind the phone payment policy. It is reassuring to know that your business is open to customer input. My hope is that these observations can serve as constructive input, allowing American Grub to continue refining its excellent service and product quality. I remain a supporter of your local endeavor and look forward to seeing these aspects addressed. Thank you for reaching out. To clarify, all my reviews and communications are crafted solely from my personal experiences and genuine perspectives, not AI. Every word and insight you read is authentically mine, driven by my commitment to provide honest feedback. Even though the review was long..(lol) I wanted to make sure the details are accurate and understandable. The restaurant was dark and stylish, and I immediately liked the vibe. Even though it was crowded for a Thursday night, we were seated within 15 minutes. We each picked a shareable dish to split. Predictably, my daughter chose the mac and cheese. I rolled my eyes -- it's so her -- but it turned out to be the best of the four. Maybe it was the velvety cheese sauce or the golden cracker crust that made it so irresistible, but that mac and cheese was, as she'd say, absolutely bussin'. The next standout was the maple-buttered Brussels sprouts, my man's pick. If all vegetables tasted this good, I'd eat them every day. Candied pecans, maple butter, blue cheese -- how could that not be amazing? Was it healthy? Sus, but definitely worth it. I picked the pig candy for the group, which was outrageously sweet and candy-like. Clearly, this wasn't healthy -- bacon, sugar, and rye whiskey caramel make a trifecta of indulgence. But it was so delicious, I couldn't complain. The sliders were the last shareable we tried. They were fine but didn't stand out -- the meat was a bit dry. I also ordered a cocktail (something pretty and fruity, though I can't remember the name). The bartender nailed it, delivering a delicious drink. My man enjoyed his Negroni. The service was great, and I loved the grassy area with fire pits for hanging out. Excellent place for our first night out in Irvine!
