Now, this place is NOT a brewery, it's only a taproom. They have 30 selections on tap, which I'm pretty sure were all domestic brews.
One of the cool things I saw here, which I really haven't seen done anywhere else, was the pre-selected flight option. Drawn in chalk on the wall were 4 choices of flights with the beers already selected, and distinguished by strength. So there was Easy, Medium, Hard and (get ready for this one......) Brutality. It's always funny seeing the choice of English word(s) used in other countries for different things, lol. Each flight set came with 4 beers, and a "beer brownie". I did Medium, because I wasn't trying to go to hard.....or too brutal ;) It included a Fruit wheat, Pilsner, American IPA and a Porter. The Fruit Wheat, Rosa Dos Ventos, was horrible and one of the worst beers I've ever tasted. It was like dirty water and I couldn't even finish it. The pilsner was weak, but the IPA and Porter saved the day.
I tried beer a few times while in Brazil, and my feeling is the country has a ways to go to catch up as it pertains to quality. "I Love Beer" has the right idea though, and I believe as time goes on, the beer offered will get better as local breweries learn the right techniques to make great beer.
