This place is awful. My wife is a customer here (or WAS) and recommended I make an appointment for one of our younger kids who wants to make the leap to contact lenses. The first sketchy element is that the link my wife kept sending me kept taking me to a google search with an alternate name. It appears that they do business under two different names which is kind of shady. But the big problem is that when you try to schedule an appointment on their website, it asks you to choose three different times. This is really bad because in this area many people have jobs and families and you can't just bank on some random time MAYBE being available. So I tried to call in the morning and nobody answered. I tried to call again in the afternoon after I made the appointment and again nobody answered. This was for an appointment the next day. I got two auto-texts saying "sorry we missed your call" so I replied to the texts saying I have a job and four kids and I can't be left hanging on these appointments, and this is a bad first impression after my wife recommended this place. I get a call back FIVE minutes after that text from a someone sounding like a sorority chick who just got dumped by her boyfriend. Huge attitude immediately. She's like "Those are just APPOINTMENT REQUESTS, SIR! We have ONE appointment at 7:45am tomorrow." Okay, well the appointments I thought I signed up for were 2:15, 2:30, and 2:45. So I calmly asked why the website listed 12 appointments for tomorrow and 18 for the next day if none of those were really available. And she just kept replying to everything I said by getting increasingly loud and obnoxious so I finally said, "well I guess I will go to another practice then," and before I could even say thanks and bye, she hung up on me. After this conversation, a lot of stuff is even weirder as I think about it. If the appointments are "just requests," then why were there "no requests" listed today, "12 requests" tomorrow, and "18 requests" the next day? That's totally nonsensical because if nothing is guaranteed then why list ANY times that are definitely not available??? And if you're going to list some times, why not list them all? Still the worst is just the rudeness. If your instant response to someone texting that you made a bad first impression but TRYING TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION BY SETTING A FIRM APPOINTMENT is to call them back in a haughty tone, then perhaps you should not be employed in customer service. Or, maybe the front desk person was out today and I was called by a doctor. But that just makes things even worse. Anyway, imagine potentially gaining 5 new customers (the rest of my family) and instead losing one (my wife) with just one phone call! Amazing. Went for an eye exam. Was told that I could pay $39 extra for an exam that wasn't covered by insurance. If I didn't pay for it, "...then we might have to dilate your eyes..." to continue the exam. I didn't appreciate the implication that I "might" require my eyes to be dilated...but that if I paid an extra $39 then I wouldn't. Doubt I'll be going back there. And it's unfortunate because I've been going there for years without this exam. Anything to make more money I guess. read more

I was extremely pleased with my recent annual eye exam with Dr. Celina Hubert. Dr. Hubert was very professional and up-to-date knowledgeable about my history; having been a patient of the Vienna Eyecare Center for 30 years going back to when Drs. Wish I could say this was a good choice for more comprehensive eye care (beyond Rx glasses) but I can not. Having been served by neuro-ophthalmologists for many years, it was difficult to find a replacement once mine left town. When I called Vienna Eye Care, they assured me they could handle my situation and had the needed skills and technology. A simple visual field was a flop as they couldn't get the machine calibrated correctly. When I look at those results compared to a decade of others previously and one since they were way off. I also thought that the cost were wildly high, even with both medical and vision care coverage. The one positive, was the eyeglass-fitting person who was helpful. I called this office to inquire about their personal information protection policies and was put on hold three times for a long time each time. When I finally spoke to a receptionist, Aryia, I explained that if were to come to their office, we would not want to be added to any automated dialers/text or third party marketing. She stated we could opt out of all that, then placed me on hold again and did not pickup the line again. Next thing I know, I'm being sent an automated text from their office. I tried calling back three times before the office picked up again, and she stated their phone systems were down. I asked why I received an automated text when I did not authorize that. She had no response. I asked her to remove my number from their third party system. She stated she could not do it because their systems were down. I asked her, if the systems were down, how did I receive an automated text? She was caught off guard and stated she would remove it immediately. I asked to speak with an office manager, she stated there was no office manager but she would give my number to Dr. Snively to call me back. I'm awaiting his call to get accurate answers. read more

I really appreciated his help & knowledge to help me get narrowed down, since I have progressive lenses & work with kids, so wanted durable frames. Dr. Ardura gave my son such attentive care! He had hurt his corneas which significantly affected his vision and had him in a lot of pain. Dr. Ardura's professionalism, knowledge and individualized care enyabled him to heal and he is almost back to seeing 100% to where he was a week ago! I wish I'd known about this place before. I used to travel to Falls Church or Fair Oaks to go to Northern Virginia Ophthalmologists and see their optometrist since I wear contacts (for some reason ophthalmologists don't seem to deal with those). This time I had to wait months for an appointment while I lost one lens and had only one to wear. Vienna Eye Care Center could accommodate me the next day and the staff was very professional. I loved not having to have my eyes dilated because they have a super modern machine. read more

What an awful experience. My toddler needed glasses - and you would think that the man (I think Brian) who was responsible for fitting the glasses onto the toddler would be prepared for dealing with a toddler. No. He just stared at me while I tried to put the glasses on her, and even when I asked for tips/pointers, he just shrugged. If you decide to come here, definitely avoid going to him, he was unprofessional at best, and debasing at worst. My toddler ended up not needing the glasses anyway, but still. The only person who makes me not want to call my insurance and get a full reimbursement for my toddler's glasses is Monica who works here - she was really nice and tried her best to make up for the otherwise awful experience. read more

Vienna eyecare center has a very unethical business model that adds on irrelevant test like "optos" that a young person doesn't need and doesn't inform patient of out of pocket cost prior to going through tests. They also pressure you to order lens through them despite you voicing needing time to consider. Despite asking 4 times for a copy of my prescription, I had to remind them for a fifth time - felt like they didn't want to provide you with that information so that you have to rely on them to order lens. I'd recommend not going here for lack of cost transparency and pressuring one into completing business with them. Dr. Snively was impatient and rushed through assessment. Despite asking for a copy of the Optos result since I had to pay $39 out of pocket for an exam I didn't even want or need, Dr Snively brushed me off and did not provide a copy of the result/impression of optos scans. It felt like they are out to get as much money out of you as possible without considering your needs and preferences. read more

I concur that Dr. Snively and his staff are great. I drive to Vienna all the way from Alexandria because I've had such good care there. And since I haven't worn glasses very long, Brian methodically took me through different styles, asked lots of great questions, and nailed my varying/complicated tastes within minutes! Plus they stay open until 7pm on Mon nights and open at 7am on Weds so I find their hours flexible and parking is easy. read more

The optometrists we've seen at this office seem competent and have a nice manner. However, both are pushy in selling the frames and lenses (during the exam, not after). Strangely, their prices are not even remotely competitive with chain store optometrists so I have not purchased lenses or frames at Vienna Eyecare. On our 3rd visit to this office, the appt for my 10yo, I realized after I left that my daughters prescription was not included in the receipt and paperwork from the optometrist or receptionist. I noted this 30min after the appt & called to ask about it. Receptionist tells me they don't give the prescription unless you ask for it. I then asked for it to be immediately emailed. Receptionist said she needed to ask a tech to do it. This reminds me of MDs being advertised to by by Pharma and kickbacks to the doctors. read more

One of the best customer service experiences I have had with vision care ever. First, I could have saved a couple bucks by going to the chain optometry place--especially with my insurance--but thankfully I came here. Customer service is great, and when I had some problems with my lenses and frames they fixed all the problems at no cost after I had had the glasses a couple months. I was referred to Vienna Eyecare by a friend and I could not be happier with my experience. We are living and working in the area for a year and as a result we were looking for a new provider since my 11 year old, who wears glasses, was complaining about a change in her vision. Everyone in the office was warm, welcoming, and extremely helpful. My daughter and I were comfortable throughout. Dr. Snively was amazing. Bryan was amazingly personable and helped my daughter pick out the perfect glasses!! His taste was much better than Mom's apparently! He was professional and caring and took his time and just as importantly, he allowed my daughter to take her time. My indecisive daughter wasn't rushed in anyway, shape, or form. She left the office skipping and excited and can't wait for the new glasses to come in!
