    Crab and shrimp boil

Located in a small strip center, I was a little wary because it wasn't super clean. Dirty glass, floor and tables did not overrule the wonderful Smells coming from the kitchen. We ordered a variety of dishes including fried fish&shrimp, snow crab clusters, Bahn Mi sandwich, and crab cakes. Everything was good food wise but the plastic cutlery was cheap, the drinks came in cans, and the service was bring a plate when it's done. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes for the three orders of snow crab clusters meaning everyone was done eating 15 minutes BEFORE they got their order. Management did come three times to tell us it will only be a minute, 10 minutes apart. While the food was good, we will not be back.

Stopped by for lunch because my parents have fond memories of food from here when we ordered it to eat at our condo during our visit to Galveston several summers ago. On this in-person visit, the food was just ok, nothing special. We ordered fried catfish and shrimp, with fries and fried rice. The batter was light but had no flavor so I had to use lots of tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. I saw several diners eat the Vietnamese Rice plates and maybe that's what I should have ordered. The restaurant is not as clean as I'd like. The floor is sticky causing your shoes to make noise when you walk. Be aware that there's only one restroom.

So IMTexas 70.3 relay weekend all about keeping up carbs before race. Day decided mix it up so found Viet Cajun near air BnB. It lot like Yamamoto had no idea the food be more less Vietnamese food in Texas. I was surprise but the Pork Banh Mi. Pretty good. Nothing as legit as the ones get in Vegas. In Galveston definitely hit the right spot. The bread was solid, hearty, and sandwich order again. I got it take out. The restaurant inside has decent amount of seats. U go up counter order then pick up food. It kind of food court style find spot sit down. The staff interacted with friendly and nice. If in Galveston. Viet Cajun would recommend.

The best fried fish I have ever had! Not sure what their seasonings are but it's laced with Cocain. All the seafood was great. The fried rice is also amazing. We also had the cheesecake egg-rolls for dessert and ONG! Fabulous!

Located in a strip mall, this was one of the few dining locations within walking distance of the hotel we were staying at. No frills seafood boil place that also serves several Vietnamese dishes including pho. Ambiance is casual - You order and pay at the counter, then are seated and your meal is brought to you. Ordered a variety of items, including pho, shrimp vermicelli, shrimp fried rice, fried seafood combo (fried shrimp, oyster and fish) that came with choice of fries or fried rice, and gumbo. Only gumbo is pictured, as we were hangry and devoured our food. Pricing was reasonable and spent about $80, easily feeding 5 people.

I was beyond amazed at this little restaurant. My partner and I came in after stopping at the gas station in the same parking lot. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy. The menu was expansive and truly had something for everyone. We ordered a pho to share and a pork banh mi. The food truly exceeded our expectations. I was particularly pleased with the banh mi. It was a very generous serving and perfectly seasoned. We were even fortunate enough to enjoy our food while the restaurant played Cars 2 on the tv in the dining room. We will definitely be coming back to Viet Cajun!

I usually come here for their crawfish. The best FRIED RICE I have tasted. Felt like my father was in the kitchen cooking. I don't know what sort of breading or batter they use. It tasted like cornmeal and it is wonderful. Shrimp, oysters, fried fish came out golden crispy like I like.!!!

I am so happy my sister showed me this place. 10/10 soo delicious and flavorful with reasonable prices. Wow. Both of one my favorite types of food together in harmony. Boudain balls were packed with flavor and delicious fresh. They do not skimp on anything. Their Banh Mi was stuffed with delicious pork that was so flavorful and a great compliment to the pickled carrot and the fresh bun. Wow. GO HERE if in Galveston. Service was so sweet. Very popular so make sure to get there asap. :)

Could be good but just little effort on improving the quality. "Homemade lemon tea" tastes like liquified orange flavor snowcone. No good won't ever order this again.

We were looking for a quick lunch and wanted to try out a Viet spot on the island. It was a Friday during Lent so we were looking for seafood. You order at the counter when you walk in. Being our first time, I didn't get a chance to fully peruse the menu. The person at the counter was not rude, but I felt the need to hurry up and order. I went with a fried seafood basket. You can choose between French fries or fried rice as your side. I thought that was cool, and of course I chose fried rice. You seat yourself and they bring the food to your table. It came out fairly quickly and was hot and fresh. This is casual spot and has a view of the beach across the street. I would come back to try the more traditional Viet dishes.

Passed by Viet Cajun more than a handful of times and we finally pulled in and gave it a try. It's a a self service restaurant. order at the counter, grab your utensils/ condiments, and someone will bring out your food. tables were clean, but had a lived in vibe. Now for the food. -Egg rolls were traditional which means they'll be small. The perfect appetizer for us. -The fried basket was pretty average imo. Nothing to phone home about. I think it would benefit greatly from some seasoning. -PoBoy was great. Bf liked it at a lot! - SHOWSTOPPER!! the wings. Loved the wings. We got it tossed in the same sauce they use for their crawfish/ seafood and it was amazing.

Small place right on the seawall so don't miss it!' Fresh seafood, crawfish and Vietnamese food! Order at counter and sit and enjoy. Cool art too!

    Brisket and Steak Pho

For a viet spot in galveston, the pho is actually good. I liked that the broth was clear and it tasted hearty. It's not like a usual spot where they give u a whole plate of bean sprouts and mint but they give you a pouch on the side. The brisket was tender and fatty but the steak was a little tough. I would get double brisket pho next time. Their cajun basket was also well seasoned and definitely worth it for the amount of food. I like that they give u a whole bottle of tartar sauce to use! There is limited seating and service is as needed so it's just a place pay first, and then sit and eat. Overall, 7.5/10.

I've given Pho 20 the Yelp treatment before, and since it's been almost six years since my last visit, I felt my four-star review needs an update following our nice meal here. We decided to keep it simple with just Vietnamese egg rolls and the house special fried rice. The egg rolls were a great start while the delicious fried rice, which I haven't had before, met my expectations. Riddled with a solid amount of meat and shrimp, the fried rice was basically a meal itself. An accompanying entrée wasn't required. All in all, not bad for $26. Though the restaurant is on the usually busy Broadway not too far from The Strand, not too many people were here except for us two, an elderly man, and a group of four women. It provided a quiet, peaceful atmosphere.

The Moo Goo Gai Pan even has bamboo chutes! All the waiters a waitresses are really nice, never getting annoyed by the complications of your orders. They even let my very picky brother change out the sweet and sour chicken for soup, and the fried rice for white rice, never even a single frown or glare. Also, everything there looks so authentic! The staff were very nice and provided good recommendations. I ordered the frozen matcha smoothie with oat milk, donburi with tofu and pickled vegetables. The taste of the food was fresh, I wasn't a big fan of the texture of the tofu. That threw me for a loop. They used sushi rice for the base and the broccoli was okay, a bit bland for my liking. Their special sauce was very tasty. Need to bottle that up and sell it! The pickled veggies were crisp and with well with the rice. Slightly sweet then acidic. The matcha freeze was indeed creamy from the oat milk. They have vegan milk options: oat and almond. The matcha was sweet, but nothing over the top. Matcha boba was chewy and unheard of. There are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants in the area, but I felt Basil House deserves a go. Essentially a hole in the wall, it's located along Palmer Highway not too far from where it meets 146. The building may look small, but the interior begs to differ somewhat. This is the third time I use "Vietnamese," but what's so unique about this eatery is that it also offers Thai dishes. I decided to do both for my first visit; I ordered a Vietnamese grilled pork rice plate and Thai chicken skewers. My orders arrived at my table at the same time, which I thought was nice. Regarding the skewers, the chicken was pretty sizable. It was so tender that it came off the stick after a bite or two. I must admit it was dry, but still a nice way to start a meal. As for the main star of the show, the rice plate, I have nothing but immense love for it. The kitchen staff wasn't stingy with the amount of meat they placed on the plate. Tender just like the chicken, the grilled pork carried a sweet taste that got even better when dipped in the accompanying fish sauce. Oh, I forgot to mention the skewers and the rice plate had cucumbers, which raised the tangy factor. I capped everything off with fried banana and vanilla ice cream. A man who I assumed was the owner of the place acted as my server. He did an outstanding job, refilling my drink and giving me extra napkins. By my estimate, Basil House is the closest Vietnamese restaurant to my house. No need to travel at least ten miles if I want my fill in ice plates, spring rolls, or even pho.
