Tom Terrific here with another honest review…read more I was in need of a new doctor as the diagnostic clinic was clsoing. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Faltas's office a month in advance. The office sent me all he papers to fill out ahead of time and i took 20 minutes to do that. On the day of my 10:15 am appointment I arrived at 10 am as they told me to come 15 minutes ahead of time. I walked in and no one greeted me. There was a staffer behind the window but she never said a word to me. I stood there for a minute but it didn't look like I was going to be told what to do. So I sat in one of their chairs in the waiting room. And I sat. After 49 minutes ( I timed it) someone came out and asked me my name. She had a mask on! I'm hard of hearing and I asked her to repeat the questions and she pulled down the mask. She said they would be with me shortly. I walked over to the staffer at the counter and said, "I'm Tom *******. I don't think this is the place for me. I'm leaving." When I got home there was a message on my landline. THEY ASKED ME IF I WAS COMING!!!! Looks like I dodged a bullet. Dr. Wael Faltas - NOT RECOMMENDED.

Look for another pc doctor, don't you just hate changing them! Ps. Just changed insurance, maybe he takes that, naw not to bother got tired of inters sitting in on every visit.

I myself have been a patient for approximately twenty years. I became a patient of hers shortly after I left high school. She cares deeply about her patients, as do her office staff Caitlyn, Delores, & Kim. The people and atmosphere immediately make you feel welcome when you walk into her waiting area. The art and furniture on the walls in the waiting room & every exam room helps to distract anyone who has white coat syndrome. I only say this; because my Mom, who has been a patient of hers as for a little bit longer than I have calms down greatly, when she's in a room surrounded by art. Her blood pressure goes down greatly, when she something to pull her attention away from the medical aspects in the room around her. I can honestly say Dr. Fortner saved my life from surgical complications that my surgeon missed. In case running her own practice isn't impressive enough, she is also the Life Care Center of New Port Richey's medical director. Thanks to that position she was a part of my dad's medical team the last few weeks on this Earth as well. Her family is several generations Pasco deep and now she is this family's doctor and I hope it stays that way for a very long time. My Mom and I would not be here without her today. - L.N. Sullivan

The office staff is in capable of demonstrating any form of mediocre customer service; let alone, optimal, non-judgemental care. Instead, they treat you like a lesser human, embarrass you in front of other patients about private billing issues, admonish you to the point of threating to cancel your appointment for being 7 minutes late. Even though, my appointment was at 9am and the MD did not show up until 9:38 am that morning. He judges you for having a chronic illness and just not being able "to go to the gym and work out". I won't even discuss what happened last time I showed up for an appointment that they conveniently canceled! Not to mention, when the nurse looked at my online chart, she gave a disgusted huff!!! Is the office staff nasty to everyone? Or has my chart been specifically labeled to treat me like garbage, thus I leave the practice quietly because my illnesses are too difficult to manage and do not return? Why would a physician do that? Does the reason involve not wanting to complete my disability paperwork??? I know it is lengthy and time consuming, but I was run over by a truck as a pedestrian and have CRPS now. I cannot work as a nurse. Furthermore, I had an anaphylactic reaction to MSG in July. My daughter called 911 because I was blue and could not breath. The paramedics had to start an IV to give medications and oxygen. I negotiated with the paramedics that I would follow up with my primary care to save health care cost because they fixed me for the time being and the doctor's office opened 2 hours after they left my apartment. The office sent me away that day because I didn't have a mask! COVID-19 was lifted. Plus, just had an anaphylactic reaction and they knew that. Can you imagine?

She was very condescending, and she made a lot of untrue assumptions about my health and condition that she didn't give me any opportunity to correct. She told me, a prediabetic, not to monitor my levels or symptoms, because I would be getting diabetes anyway and I could "worry about it then." She told me I couldn't be depressed because I was "married and looked happy." When I told her a medication was ineffective for me, she argued with me that I didn't understand the medication. Meanwhile, there was evidence in my blood tests that it wasn't effective. She told me I needed to lose weight while completely disregarding the medical conditions that are contributing to that inability to lose weight. She told me "I don't even know your diet, but we need to change your diet." I am an ambulatory wheelchair user. She told me I was "too young to be in a wheelchair" while simultaneously asking no questions about what symptoms lead me to be in a wheelchair. She assumed the pain/weakness was in my legs because she never took a moment to ask where it was. It was my back. When I corrected her, she dismissed me. There is more, all negative, but these were the highlights. It was evident that she had made up her mind about me as soon as she saw my age, weight, and my wheelchair. She let her biases prevent her from actually engaging with me and the provided care clearly suffered because of that. On a more personal note, she was fully aware of my mother's terminal cancer before my appointment, because she has been involved in my mother's care as well. I am my mother's primary caregiver. She knew and verbally acknowledged the kind of stress that situation would put on a person. I told her I had been diagnosed with MDD and GAD. She was aware that I had the mental conditions and external circumstances to create a mentally and emotionally sensitive or delicate person. She still chose to treat me in a callous and condescending way. I am very fortunate that I have a good support system at home and a trusted therapist. For another person in my situation, but without a support system to fall back on, a visit to Dr Mercer could be dangerous.

I mean, am I reviewing the DOCTOR...or his practice?…read more I spent the first part of my career as a Pharma rep and a Group Practice Materiel Manager -- soooo when it comes to Doctors and well run medical practices I know the good, bad and ugly. As far as the doctor goes, Dr. Garcia is good. He is honest stern and to the point, He take his time with you and very easy to talk to. I feel he is an extremely conscientious doctor and explains things very clear to you. Now, the practice? If I was to rate his office staff...it would be a mixed bag; incompetent, arrogant, defense, thin skinned, and lack of customer service skills. They are somewhat disorganized and you do have to sit on them to get them to call you back, answer questions and on occasion, can be a little rude, for lack of better term. This really applies to the front office, who often gets it wrong. His back office staff is pretty efficient BUT . they DO NOT communicate lab results very well. His front office staff...they are not a good reflection on the doctor, so if you are the type who is easily frustrated by an office staff who is not necessarily organized or doesn't necessarily communicate well ... this might not be a good fit for you. They could screw up a 3 car funeral when it comes to scheduling. Folks this is Corporate Baycare Healthcare at it's finest (tongue in cheek).
