Their espresso tonic aka chronic tonic is refreshing. Friendly servers at spacious venue near the bike trails with outdoor seating too.

I'm finally back at one of my favorite local coffee shops - it never fails! Enjoyed my hot vanilla-lavender latte and my kuign aman (pistachio-honey) pastry! Love the spacious and airy restaurant.

The coffee is always incredible. It is roasted in house and always fresh. Seasonal flavors are always great. The food is tasty and always satisfying. Service is always great and the atmosphere inside and outside is lovely. It is usually busy, but you never wait long.

My cappuccino was delightful. The shop and roastery was cute and had a great atmosphere. I just stopped in for a grab n go coffee but I'll be back for sure!

I finally dined in and tried an açaí bowl! It was outstanding and the presentation was 10/10!!!! We love coming to vigilante during our morning walks as they are pet friendly as well!

Maple Spiced Latte made with Oat Milk was delicious! Love at FRIST SIP! Wish they had the Almond Croissant they offer on their menu! But all in all service was great, the vibes were great...and perfect weather to sit outside on the benches, enjoying a nice cup of JO! Or tea... They offer some other breakfast treats and other pastry items and cookies. Maybe I'll try something to accompany my drink next time ;))) But for now this Biscoff cookie that came with my drink will have to do! Happy Yelping!

Went because I bought the Maryland cafe passport. The recommended drink was hot vanilla latte. My husband got a mocha. I was a little upset that they only offered whole milk and then nut milks. I was forced to get the vanilla latte as it comes. I usually instantly take off at least 1 star just on that fact. However, once I took a sip of my drink, it was like an out of body experience it was so good. My husband was blown away and instantly noticed it was REAL ingredients. Real chocolate in the mocha and vanilla bean in the vanilla latte. No syrups. No wonder their menu is a little basic. It doesn't need anything extra to stand out. I consider myself a coffee connoisseur. I don't rate many coffee places over the moon. If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would.

This coffee shop in Hyattsville may be the only reason why I'd even visit there in the first place. This spacious coffee shop has an indoor and outdoor section where there's a lot of space for anyone. Whether it be a group or just you, there's always somewhere to sit and I appreciate that. Like most coffee shops, Vigilante Coffee serves hot drinks like coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold drinks like cold brew coffee, iced lattes, and lemonade. There's also the option for pastries if you are into that, along side with fruit bowls and bagels if you need food too. I got a regular latte for my visit and a almond croissant which seems to be my go to pairing when I go to a cafe. You place an order and they call by your order number for you to pick up at the counter. I was impressed at the latte art, it is pretty when you receive your cup of coffee. The almond crossaint was also really good too! If there was a closer location I'd no doubt say this is one of the best coffee shops in NoVA but for now, it's one of my favorites in MD!

Very cute coffee shop in Hyattsville! It's spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. People were at tables working on their laptops, so it's a nice space to work remotely. They offer coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, as well as bagels, pastries, and acai bowls. I got the almond croissant, which was great, and the fruit bowl with yogurt and granola, which I also enjoyed. The customer service was wonderful!

Our neighbors keep this place alive. It's our own spot that we call home. Have you seen my pics! Only true baristas are capable of the magic they can do with their hands. Come here weekly to support! You should too!

Honey Pistachio Kouign and Ham & cheddar croissant
    Peggy L.

Fabulous food selection (especially in pastries section), espresso, service and ambiance! Enjoyed my time, people watching and reading a book there... this spot has cool artsy fartsy decors around the place to give some artsy and rustic feeling. It reminded me of Portland, Oregon. It has more than plenty of seatings with tables around indoor and outdoor. Take your pick anywhere! Ordered hot vanilla latte - it was delicious, and strong espresso flavor blended with foamy milk and vanilla flavor. Great latte around this place! Honey pistachio kouign - delicious pistachio and honey pastry.... Basically some pistachio paste inside the flaky pastry then topped with honey and crushed pistachios. Impressed with the sweet pastry! Ham and cheddar croissant - can't go even wrong with it! Amazing ham, surrounded with melted cheddar then crunchy and flaky pastry hugging these. Overall it's very satisfying for a savory pastry! I highly recommend it to be warmed up to enjoy it even more!

Hip little coffee spot in a cute, walkable area. Felt like I was back in LA for a second. Great coffee selection. The acai bowl was really good! A nice place to work, the outdoor seating was great.

    Matcha with mint syrup
    Josh M.

Tremendous service, drink quality, and vibe at Vigilante Coffee in Hyattsville! The staff was very kind and gave some good recommendations on the matcha and other seasonal drinks. I highly recommend the matcha with the mint syrup as it had a surprisingly well balanced effect that was delicious to drink. Very nice set up and seating in the restaurant as well.

Parking is challenging at peak times. The selection of baked goods is varied and fresh. The line to buy items can get long. There's a decent-sized space to "eat-in", should you want. The sweet potato/chili/pistachio bialy is quite a creation, really like it, zings big time. I've never seen that flavor combo in a bialy before and hope they keep making it. The gingerbread with meyer lemon glaze has a very deep ginger flavor that's quite memorable. Not as keen about the breads. The parking lot is crowded and a bit of a mess. Coming on a weekend meant waiting in line, and it was not a speedy line. The selection was interesting, but they were struggling to keep up with demand. I ordered the last piece of multiple styles of baked goods, which I suspect was upsetting for the people behind me but which was a decision that worked out well for the recipients of my haul. The loaf was richly sour and the butter I got with it tasted cultured, the other pastries and things I tried didn't quite leave the same impression. Maybe coming at a less busy time yields a better selection.

Somehow, I had only been to this place during the winter time, but it is a completely different vibe during the warmer months. The outdoor space is stunning, and everything just feels brighter and happier. The staff are really nice, the patrons are enjoying themselves, and they just have excellent food. My friend and I happen to come during this fashion show event so there were complimentary hors d'oeuvres for everybody present, but we still ordered delicious deviled eggs (I could've eaten a whole tray of them) and had some great cocktails. You know, for the first time ever, I paid attention to a bunch of board games that they have on a shelf. But based on the stuff that's on the shelf in front of them, I am not 100% sure that they are up for grabs, but it still looks cool. Anyone who is in this area should definitely pay them a visit. My friend and I showed up for a late lunch, and after I stood waiting for service for almost five minutes, the bartender finally came closer to me and said the kitchen was closed. Also, I had previously visited this restaurant for happy hour and found the food and service to be average.

They offer free tastings of all of their meads, and most of them can be in a flight of 3-5oz pours, depending on ABV. The Zanzibar and Mead Marian were my favorites -- one was their standard, and the other was their strongest. They were a lot of cool ones in between, like one having a coffee flavor, one being spicy, some being combined with fruits.... there was a lot of fun to be had tasting all of those. The honey taste really comes out most of the time. They don't make their own food, but they offer some snacks and sell patties and desserts from Shortcake Bakery, the shop next door.
