Went there 3 times...first two were pretty good...last night was the worst..took my family....our food was cold...over cooked...baked potatoes cold no sour cream......pork chops like leather and none of the dinner plates came with any vegetables. So gross. I was so excited when hey redid this place. Breakfast was freezer burned hashbrowns that were burnt. I couldn't cut them! Eggs were overcooked and service was snarky. Dinner another time. Just gross. Ingredients are cheap and frozen. Cook doesn't care. This is a place for old people with no taste buds or drinkers who are so drunk they don't remember or care about the bar food they ordered. Lots of beers on tap. Great place with nice selection of food and service. I had the ribeye steak which tasted good with a side of tater tots and veggies. Veggies were nice and not over cooked. Tater tots were nice and crisp and not soggy. For a new restaurant, I was impressed. Areas of improvement: Salad came after main entree came out, steak was served with a butter knife instead of steak knife, bathroom was messy, and my friends soup never came out yet was still on his bill after he declined the late soup. All minor common mistakes that are easily remedied with more training and fine tuning. I would definitely come back here! Always nice to support a local restaurant in our small town. read more

This place has certainly turned for the better. I finally had a chance to swing by recently. The remodel they did is nothing short of amazing. For food I went with the mushroom burger with fries. Daughter had the chicken nuggets and fruit. Everything was pretty good. Prices were very reasonable. We will look forward to trying some of the other menu items. Very good tap list it would be great if they added a cider too tho. read more

Heard the Viking Inn was open again for business. Decided to try them today for Mother's Day breakfast and was surprised by a delicious Mother's Day Brunch buffet. Everything was very good, eggs were made fresh, potatoes were seasoned and cooked just right, pancakes were amazing, and the service was friendly and overall excellent. Flowers for all of the moms was a sweet detail. The restaurant has been completely remodeled is very clean and looks great. Can't wait to go back and enjoy some of their menu items and sit outdoors on the beautiful patio. read more

I'm so excited to have a place of this caliber in Junction City. I went the first week they opened and was anticipating a slow, bumpy experience since the restaurant is so new (or at least this version of it is). I went in for the lunch hour, the parking lot was packed, but we were in and out in less than an hour. The food was great and the service was even better. I had the Chicken Bacon Avocado wrap with a side salad--wrap was a little dry but nothing a little extra ranch couldn't fix (I'd rather it be too dry than too much sauce!). My colleague had the steak salad. They make the steak to order so he was able to order medium-rare and he said it was cooked excellently. Our waitress Kelsey was quick and attentive. They had a lot of healthier options on the menu which is greatly appreciated in this small town. I'll definitely go back! read more

Had dinner here last night. Dinner was good, we have been here once before but it was in the first week of opening under new management. That experience was not what we expected. Gave it another try. I had ribs the special, wife had a burger. Both were good, not great. Mine had potato salad but it's mass made not in house. Corn on the cob and a roll that I found while putting my second half a rack in the to go box. Wife's burger was to order and fry's were great. I'm thinking frozen pucks not hand spanked Patty's. I can't go above three stars for food just bought frozen and warmed up. The atmosphere is a nice family type dinner/bar. They have a patio, and we look forwards to trying breakfast here. read more

This was the first time my husband and I visited here. The remodel was nice , very spacious and the booths were very fluffy friendly. The staff was friendly. They smiled and greeted everyone kindly. They were very polite. But they were slow. I'm not sure if the server was new. She was sarcasm with a smile for the cooks, whom were merely trying to help because they were pushing food out faster than she could deliver to tables. Our food sat on the counter for 12 minutes before it was brought out. My salad was done and sitting on the counter 2 minutes after the order was put in but brought to me with my dinner. The cooks did their job efficiently and the food was ok. Not good portions for the price. We never got refills and not once did the servers come back to our table to check on us. Nothing I couldn't have done at home. It was over priced and well not the best for our drive. Needless to say we will not be back. read more

We visited the Viking Inn in Junction City on Saturday of the function in Junction. This business has been there in previous years during this time. We waited 15 minutes before anybody even came and greeted us to our table when we ordered our food we waited 35 minutes and then we went to ask where food was and they said that they were making it. When we got it we had ordered a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich with crisp bacon, the bacon was raw and the sandwich was cold. We ordered more drinks had to go inside and get them. We talked to the waitress about the service and their excuse was they had to prep more food is why it took so long first of all when you have a restaurant and you know you're having a special event in your area your prep work should be done the day prior you don't prep during the day of the event they weren't that busy there were four tables inside and two outside besides our own. That is the second time and last time I will ever ever eat at that restaurant it was disgusting the service was rude and the food was poor to say the least. read more

We love coming to The (new) Viking. A great place to come get salads, drinks, appetizers, and entrees. They always have a special on the menu. The staff is very friendly, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Got a veggie omelet. I'm not sure where the veggies are exactly, but there are some canned mushrooms in there and a few tomatoes. It's a sloppy mess. The hash browns are super greasy. My partner got the chicken, bacon, ranch. The bacon is pretty good, but the chicken is what you'd find in the grocer's freezer aisle....breaded chicken (?) patty. The fries were limp, but they are real potatoes at least. I had a coffee from Starbucks they wouldn't let me finish inside. They told me to drink it outside or put in in our car. Weird. read more

My husband and I were really excited when we heard the Viking was getting remodeled by the owners of Wetlands, we love that bar in Eugene and the Viking is just as good. I have now ate here twice and both times I've gotten a wrap, both were delicious and packed full of food! Sometimes with wraps they are more tortilla than actual stuffing but the Viking did not disappoint! Staff was friendly and food was prompt! I've become dis-enchanted with The Viking Inn. Use to be able to have one of the many tv's change to something other than sports talk show with no sound. My husband and I had dinner here tonight with another couple. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck. They have done a great job on remodeling this place. They have a great beer menu, with at least 12 on tap. However, found the food pretty mediocre. I had the Swedish meatballs and my husband the French dip. And while the servers were very friendly and pleasant, they seemed pretty disorganized - multiple trips back and forth between inside and outside with not much accomplished. For example, we had to ask multiple times for water and it was served several minutes after our last request. Were going to get a second beer, but after about 15 minutes and two reminders, we modified our drink order because we were about done eating. We really want to see them be successful, and see that they really have some things to work on. Will wait a while and try them out again in the future. read more

Our little gang really hoped this restaurant would work out but it has turned out to be total crap. The staff makes it clear that they don't' want e you there. Why would you open just to run off what's left of your good clients ? You know a manager on duty could save your restaurant !!! The coffee looked like dirty water. And to get a refill was almost impossible. The food was good except the overdone eggs.. But the 45-minute weight was painful. Brother, his wife and I went for a late breakfast on Sunday. We liked the idea of the deal on the Bloody Mary's. Those were good, but second round that we got an hour later came without the green beans the first ones had.. and instead of limes as the first round.. lemons on the second. We were ignored for SIXTY minutes, it was only as one was bussing a table that she asked us if we needed our check. At THAT point, I was ready to put down the money for the drinks and go.. but the other two wanted to stay. We stated, that NO, we needed our FOOD. At that time, she asked us about a second round.. it seemed like she was asking and they would be comp'd, but they were not. But we were not trying to get free stuff, just the food we ordered. If you want to spend less than 2 hours for brunch, this is NOT the place. Food was good, nothing that I would go back for, with the terrible service, or lack there of we received. Hash browns were the best thing, yes, they were rehydrated, but served CRISP. read more
